And you're telling me running a Dervish with a sword would be considerable for a serious build? The PvE skills are more of a "Why not?" sort of thing, and seriously; the only time I would use a weapon other than a scythe on a Dervish is using EDA Spear.
As for it not working with a high enough title, at rank 1 SY is extremely powerful.

Spear? You sure you don't mean bow?
Anyway, if by serious you mean "usuable and decently efficient in late game area in HM" the only sword build I can see would be a stance+VoSilence tank, which is either not too efficient or takes 2-3 monks maintaining bonds (aka heavy resources for the effect, tought 3 infini prot bonders + 2 55 derv could be interesting to try for a 2 player team)
As for SY, I meant if you have a 1-2 sec gap between 3 sec SY, it's not really worth maintaining, is it not? Even if the gap is less important, It's not worth bottering to maintain in my mind. Not saying it won't add anything to a team, just that, if you ask me, SY is boring to spam, I'd rather use a less powerful build when I can than spam a 3 sec shout.

If you are running derv primary then a spear is more effective. You can easily spread extra conditions like long lasting bleeding and use more spammable attack skills for even more blind with decent damage.
With Dslash there should be no downtime of SY till fgj runs out anyway. and you can always take an orders.

Eh....
As long as you have 12 in swordsmanship, you have an IAS, and you have the armor+weapon combo look to justify it, go ahead.
Dslash is a good skill if only because you're losing out on a lot of damage from your scythe, so you may as well take the maximum damage a sword skill will allow.

Thank for the clarification and... Yeah you're right, now that I think of it I need to get back that old Sy build i had. Either I had a pretty bad playstyle problem or I made a seriously bad build...
