Hi guys, i was thinking on a build because i really like the /black elite sunspear armor + colossal scimitar combo/ so here is my build:

[Dragon Slash][Silverwing Slash][Galrath Slash][Distracting Blow]["For great justice][Signet of Pious Light][Vital Boon][Faithful Intervention]
11 Sword Mastery 8 Earth Prayers 11+1 Mysticism

I don't know why you wouldn't use a scythe. They're so powerful in the hands of a dervish.

no IAS, no IMS, no scythe, too much self healing. all bad
you didn't even put 12 in sword mast. you don't get the full damage of any melee weapon unless you have at least 12 in that attribute.

Agreed , don't run a Dervish with sword, its horrible. And your bar is even more horrible. It has no IAS , No deep wound , average dps.

I take that you understand scythes are better you are just using sword because you like the look.

Id take out skill #6 and #7

If you really feel you need a 2nd heal maybe put your earth prayer points into

wind and use natural healing, But I don't think that is really necessary

I would put in Heart Of Fury for an IAS

Put sword to 12

and maybe swap some of those sword attacks for other attacks that apply conditions

I play a dervish with a sword all the time. I personally think its way funner than with a scythe. Dont diss him because he like to play guild wars his way instead of yours.

You need a IMS of some sorts if your going to be using a sword. [heart of fury] would be good. Would also suggest using [sever artery] + [gash].

he asked for advice on his build. that's what he's getting. i also tried derv with sword and it was nowhere near the dps and big pretty numbers i see with a scythe.

I have run a sword derv in general pve areas for fun and to add challenge while getting the samurai style using monument armour and a katana/tengu sword.

As anything goes in normal mode pve if your playing with heroes why not? Although i did run a VoS sword build.

Of course in elite areas or HM a decent bar works best. But games are for fun.

This is a Dervish forum, not an Ursan forum. We are discussing Dervish skills and builds. Not Ursan tactics.

As for the build, it would be more of a joke based build, but...

As for the build, here's what I'd try :
Silverwing or Galrath -for- Wirlwing attack (sp?) (SunSp skill), they should almost recharge each other
Distracting -for- savage slash (add dmg for interupt)
Vital boon -for- Increase attack speed, Wind prayer have some good one (a certain IAS+IMS stance comes to mind)
Signet -for- free slot : utility dependign on need.
(I don't think you will need too much survivability
STATS : change Earth prayer into Wind,
-1 from wind and mystism -to- 12 sword (conplete with rune to keep 12 mystism)

If that doesnt work, you could try going into tactic for melee defence and use Vow of Silence for magic defence, splitting your stats with Sword, Mystism, tactic.
Or grab Ebon Dust Aura for disruption with the SunSp AoE attack, that would make a more defensive build but it MAY be needed for some places.

So i did this build for the ursan nerf. One ideas:

[For great justice] + [silverwing slash] + [galrath slash] + [Dragon Slash] + [silverwing slash] + [galrath slash] + [dragon slash] etc... is a big dps i think.

And you are true I'd need an IAS skill ^^

keep in mind you get 1adren for actually hitting as well. So DS at 12 gives a total of 5 adren.
