I was just wondering if there is a plausable derv build for DoA that people have tried out. Would something like Arcane Orders work?

Since the nerf of ursan.... well you know what happened to DoA. I used ursan no doubt, but other than that I would use an OoS Weapon Spell Rit. If there's a pretty good derv build it would be great to hear about it. Derv and rit are the only classes I've really spent alot of time on so I would rather use these classes over the others.

I don't like that order dervish build....basically [mystic healing] and [dwaynas touch] aren't so good....better [imbue health] and maybe ?[great dwarf armor]?

^ I'm not a big fan of Dwayna's Touch for a hero as a hero will often pull themselves into aggro range with it, but Mystic Healing is great. No reason why they shouldn't have at least 3, usually 4 enchants up, making it basically a spammable Heal Party. Humans can run those two skills just fine.

Anyway, from what I've seen people like to take dervs with them on the full runs, but nobody wants them for actually fighting Mallyx. Any normal derv build (3-4 enchants) makes the entire team lose half their skills.

Dervish vs Mallyx = epic fail

Avatars? = cannot keep it up for [banish enchantment]
Enchantments?= see above

meele attacks?= avoid spamming conditions, [chilling victory]= useless, [mystic sweep]= WTF, [eremites attack]= WTF he is alone, [victorious sweep]= OOO yeah i got more health then Mallyx

anything else?= total fail.....all on dervish is based on enchantments so it's a total fail

A para is much more usefull against Mallyx...

Eremite's and Mystic aren't used only for the damage, but the IAS. Victorious is used to the damage. Just run shitloads of attack skills with Flail. You may not have the enchantments or whatever, but you've still got the most imbalanced and threatening weapon in the game.

Mystic Healing is a great skill to use on an Orders Dervish, and Dwayna's Touch on human Orders Dervs.

I call BS. Load up the forsaken insignia and don't bring enchants. There are plenty of options that will work just fine.

to keep your avatar up, all you really need is [[eternal aura]. that's the only enchant a derv needs for an avatar. let me introduce you to [[twin moon sweep].

avatar->EA->TMS=no enchants and not enough time for mallyx to banish enchants.

Mallyx doesn't care of ur insignias

Touch skills on allies...i really don't like it....sorry but i don't think it works so good....u cannot risk to get an aggroo just to heal a party member...

It's used as a selfheal.

There are more than enough attacks that don't require conditions to use. Furthermore, there's nothing that stops you from bringing a form, signets, or stances.

As far as PvE is concerned, para's (imbagons) are much more useful then ANY class against ANY enemy, so that's not saying much.

I really have to question your EA->TMS combo. EA has the normal aftercast of .75 seconds, and I believe that the actual hit of TMS comes at .75 seconds into the swing animation (halfway). That leaves 1.5 seconds total for mallyx to cast Banish enchantments, a skill that casts in .375 seconds with his boss hax. Its probably unlikely that he would cast banish enchantments on you unless his aggro was already on you, but do you really want to risk it? If Banish disables the wrong skills the party dies.

The Forms wouldn't be all that useful against him anyway. Melandru's condition immunity doesn't help, Lyssa's bonus won't be in play that often because his skills cast so fast, and the other forms are trash anyway. If you took a form you would be much safer just using it once during the instances where he spawns underlings.

you're right, it is "possible" for him to use the skill but isn't likely. not only that but TMS removes the enchant upon activation not when it hits. and in all honesty, for a derv agains mallyx, [[avatar of baltha] is probably the "best" form. in most cases balth is trash but if a derv were to fight mallyx, the extra armor could come in handy as all the other forms have defeciencies(sp?) when it comes to mallyx in particular. also i wasn't saying a derv had to use a form, just that it was definitely possible.

[faithful intervention] is garbage... its a useless skill that wont save you from anything. Why don't you just suggest [mending].
