Well im trying the build right now, and every few runs i get a bit further. and Coloneh, i use it like this:Mystic regen-Vital Boon-VoS then Harriers Haste for approach, and when i get hit alot i use Deaths Charge. When the group keeps following me, i use Dash to get away. When im in a group with Ice Golems or any other that slow you down i recast VoS. Then once im in a quit spot i do it all over again.
Also, when the Wurms appear i take a second and first cast everything, then i cast Fleeting Stability.

well my main problem is when to use death's charge since its a spell(VoS), I did make it with the build once, but it was on a dual run(actually a full running group but all the others died almost instantly) with a perfect spawn.
(edit)I'v gone back to using my build(posted on previous page) its easier to me

@Coloneh, The Death Charge is to not get stuck at the trolls. and since they don't cast spells you don't have to keep it up. But you can replace it with any other skill since its not essential
Vos, i have to thank you. After one and a half day of learning what to use where, i ran Droks. didn't have much trouble actually. If you know what skills should be used where, its not too hard.

I actually recently created a new Ele for prophecies and had someone run me to Droks using this build. I will say, it was hands down, the FASTEST run, I have ever seen done, especially since that last running nerf that really hurt solo W/Mo's.
Shame I cannot remember the name of the runner, or I'd give him kudo's here. If that runner remembers a Lowbie E/Me (Atomic Gas Cloud)...feel free to speak up and claim you kudo's... that was an awesome run.
But yes, this build works, and works very well.
*yeah, I just created a Derv just for this too* We'll see how long anet allows it to go before it gets nerfed too.

I was recently run from Beacon's to Droks by a Dervish with almost the exact same build, only difference was Shadow Refuge in place of Death's Charge. He had no problems at all, the build worked incredibly well. And after running on my Warrior and being run by Warriors for that run, I have to say that the Dervish seems to do it much easier than a Warrior. All told, I am tempted to think that a Dervish can do anything a Warrior can, if not better. With Mystic Regeneration, and Avatar of Balth, a Dervish can take just as much aggro as a Warrior, although a Warrior will still have the benefit of higher armor. But in any case, I'm sure that Dervish's will be the best runners, once people practice with them and have it all worked out.

I saw a D/A run droks, it was a dual run with the standard warrior runner, and the D/A. The warrior died twice and the D/A didn't die at all. I was highly impressed.

Yup it's pretty much all true. It's like starting a new class. I have an undefined love for melee professions and had to change my ENTIRE strategy when I decided to make a Mesmer. It's the same concept here as a Dervish/any running Droks.
Before the update I used to run as a R/W. So I'm not used to having hex removal or charging right through giant aggros, or even enchantment removal/covering. As all Drok runners I was used to the Instant cast of my anti-KD. (Blanced Stance) With my switch to a D/A I had HUGE postives and a handfull of negatives. This is my build for those who want to see some more custom builds:
The New Age of Drok Running:
Attributes:
Wind Prayers 12
Earth Prayers 9
Mysticism: 12
Shadow Arts: 6
Gear:
-Armor doesn't really matter as long as it's max.
-A Rajazan's Fevror (or Totem Axe) for the enchantment increase and a running shield. (I like Stalwart Carapace Shield)
Skills:
1) Natural Healing
2) Enchanted Haste
3) Mystic Regeneration
4) Fleeting Stability
5) Vow of Silence
6) Harriers Haste
7) Dark Escape
8) Dash
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's customized to my personal preference of running. I always run for speed so i don't really waste time with covers and the such. The only mandatory skills are Vow of Silence , Fleeting Stability, and Mystic Regneration. I use Harriers Haste over Featherfoot Grace because it's a stance. Enchanted Haste may seem as total taboo thanks to all the enchantment removal in Lonars Pass but it get's the job done where needed.
Happy Running
I've been playing around with a D/A spiker, and I recently got a run from a D/A from Beacons to Droks. This person was stupid good. She did half of the run naked (except for a gingerbread focus), and a quarter of it topless. I was very curious about her build, and she happilly told me:
Vow of Silence
Fleeting Stability
Mystic Regeneration
Dash
Dark Escape
Enchanted Haste
Death's Charge
Harrier's Haste
Armor looked to be Primeval, with a gingerbread focus. She never held a weapon. I will admit, I've had faster runs from a R/W, but none did it so... easily. It's only slightly varied from Vos's build. I was just amazed at how the runner didn't even bother with armor for half the run.
I used to run Droks as a warrior, but have had trouble since the Nightfall nerf. I recently built a dervish character for running, and have just started using basically the same build that Vos is using in this forum with some but limited success so far. Two issues I run into is 1. no real defense against traps (so obviously avoid them if possible), and 2. at the end of Lornar's where there are the huge mobs of Ice Golems, Pinesouls and Grawls, you can either stay left through the Grawl or right through the golems pinesouls(thereby possibly getting trapped). In many instances my fleeting gets shattered through the grawls, I get knocked down, and game over. One way through this, I've found, is getting rid of death's charge and replacing with conviction-another armor boosting enchantment---and then burying fleeting below as many enchants as possible just before going through the Grawl. This works, but still is tight through there. Does anyone else have better, and smoother ideas in getting through those last huge mobs at the end of Lornars? Thanks in advance for any discussion on this! Other than that.....great build, and so much superior to running as a Warrior. (just cant wait for the nerf any day now..... Also, this should be a sticky IMO for fellow D runners.
feel the slipstream here
someone referred me to this thread
i gotta say that although i may not be the first to make it with the dervish, i think i'm certainly ahead of vos on this one. I had the build done when the skilllist was released, and the day nightfall came out, i was going at it with the dervish, powerleveling.
Vos appeared on the scene about 2 weeks after i first started running it reliably. He was either keeping a low key, or sucked bad if he started running ppl with it when he claims to, coz at that time, dervish runners were big news(lots of unbelievers, lots of debate)..and i knew most, if not all, dervish runners at that time. Vos appeared somewhat second generation.
And I feel the need to share this tidbit with you guys. This guy PM-ed me out of the blue one day. Forgot his nick. Anyway, he told me Vos trained him to be a dervish runner. His ad(i remembered because it sounded BS) claimed a almost 100% chance of making the run. So anyway, he PM-ed me one fine day and asked me how to get past the first worm tunnel. When i fired back, asking him why he claimed such a high chance of success when he obviously couldn't run it for shit, he told me Vos adviced him to advertise as such. This may not reflect much of Vos's quality of run(indeed, he should be running at close to 100% success with the new changes in the run), but i think it definately is a reflection of his character.
Anyway, I don't want this to turn out into a flamefest. I haven't touched guildwars for months, and I logged in today just to see if any of my friends are on. I prob won't be playing anymore anyway. Just thought I'll share my experience regarding Vos with you all.
ps: don't be confused by the death charge and all that crap. I found I only needed like 6 skills to run the gauntlet on this one, so I was just adding random skills. Interestingly enough, the moment I changed my random skills, they started popping up in the mainstream.
Even so there are more and more Dervish Runners popping up now-a-days AFTER Slipstream made up the build and ran like the wind and dazed many wammo beleivers. Slipstream was the first, I got to say, I was the second with my R/D build, someone stole it from me though
Had it all set up with Rangers, then that Period Max guy or whatever posted the build, their goes my credit, he beat me to it, hehe = )
Hell, you can ask TBA about me, ask them about Slickshot Slim, and they will tell you that I made the build, especially if you ask someone with the intials of P---- A-- L---, but whatever.
actually it will lst 12 seconds with 15 myth and the extended enchant. This gives a 2 second time period to recast it and the enchant takes only 1 second to cast. if you recast right when the skill recharges it will be on you by the 11 second mark so it really never ends. Tho veil is still useful just so u dont mess up
you obviously never used vos before, and i'm wondering why you're giving advice on using it.
you cannot cast spells when under vos. It doesn't matter even if it lasts 20 seconds. There will still be a 1 second downtime between consecutive casts of Vos.
THE build of builds:
15 mysticism
11 earth prayers
10 wind prayers
5 shadow arts
Faithful intervention
fleeting stability
mystic regenration
vow of silence
enchanted haste
harrier's haste
dark escape
dash
make it everytime unless i get uber-leet-lag-glitched by the trolls.
BTW, ppl, have u ever ran through a group of trolls, and ur way past them, but ur still getting hit like ur in the group? then u suddenly warp bak there and die. if Anet fixes this, i would actually say while advertising 100% success rate. lol.
Yup... I'd probably blame lag. If I see it happening, I see what happens if I use a skill... That seems to work, warping me back.
