want to ask why although I am still short mastery skill ( Level 9 needed ) , I am still able to use the item ??

and I seem to able to use both item fot my dervish character

i thought

* The Fiery Sunspear of Shelter for the Paragon
* The Icy Soulbreaker of Enchanting for the Dervish

Kind of confuse !!!

You can use any item you want at any time - it's why you see monks run around with caster swords and shields. The problem is, if you don't meet the requirements (9 in either Spear Mastery or Scythe Mastery), you'll be doing shit damage and you're better off with another weapon if trying to attack. Back to my previous example, you see monks running around with swords and shields with no points in Sword because if they're attacking, they're retarded. All they want are the bonuses (+60 health total, +5 energy, at least +8 armor).

You may use any weapon on any character, though using a spear on a dervish is pointless unless you have made a good build to use it.

you can use any weapon with any req on any kind of characters. for ex casters can use shields, spears, scythes w/e. warriors can use bows and etc. the only thing is if you dont meet the requirements youll be doing horrible damage, so unless its special cases like caster items your better off with something that you meet the req in.
