well im planning on making a d/w that uses zealous renewal along with avatar of balthazar to maintain AOB all the time and using nothing but warrior attack skill to damage enemies. but im alittle lost as to what warrior attack skills to use and not only what type of weapon to choose. i was thinking some like this:

[Zealous Renewal][Avatar of Balthazar][Whirlwind Attack][Steelfang Slash][Barbarous Slice][Savage Slash]

im not to sure on the last 2 skills. but really to me this alittle off. so if anyone can help me out please. if any one can please post what weapon class skills i need and also what runes my be best for this build. ty i cant wait for the response

First off, what Campaigns do you have (NF is obvious, you're running a Derv).

Second off, what do you want this build to do? Seems to me like you are using AoB to turn your Derv into a Tank, which, if you read the Dervish Sticky, is a fantastic waste of your Elite Skill. Not to mention, you're a Dervish - you have 4 pips of energy regen, and aside from Renewal and Avatar, your only energy skill is Savage Slash, which has a 15 second recharge - you'll regen the energy that you use on Savage in 5 seconds... 10sec to spare before it recharges, which means that you're covered for the cost of Renewal as well, which you just don't need in this build because nothing is going to cause you to run out of energy... you're using Adrenaline skills, if you haven't noticed...

To be honest, there isn't much you can do with a Sword-wielding Avatar of Balthazar Derv that you can't do better as a scythe-wielding Dervish, even without AoB.

well basicly like you said i would like to tank but be able to fight like a warrior using more mana skills that a warrior couldn't because his lack of mana. i love aob because the fact that you can chance how you look. but if there is a better avatar for this build that would work also. oh as for which other expansions i own i have them all. to tell you the truth im making the dervish a runner to do beacons to droks but i would like to get him through nighfall first do get that cool looking armor at the end.

also if it is better to use a scythe than i will i just want to stay in some kind of avatar form all the time.

zealous renewal isn't good period no matter how you try to use it, and besides as Tyrael pointed out you wouldn't even need it.
any sort of melee without an ias is pretty bad, and being a derv you have the choice of using [heart of fury]
also you have a skill that inflicts bleeding but no deep wound gash is almost considered a must.
and the last thing ill say, avatar of balth, isn't that good. every other avatar performs better.

well ok makes sense well is there a build for a devish that can maintane and avatar other than bathazar all the time and also do a good amount of damage?

Or you could just use [Warrior's Endurance] to counteract Warrior's low energy, allowing you to spam more energy-intensive attack skills as you wish.

that build is pretty good for condition heavy areas. not that I think [rush] and [wild blow] are very needed in PvE(they're more PvE oriented) but they still work I guess...

the build you choose should depend on the area you're in and your team composition. Dervish is a pretty versatile class, so you can fit yourself to the situation you're in.

An avatar build without [[Eternal Aura]?!

You're better off with wielding a Scythe.
