Ive been playing with a dervish latly and i really like them. but i find myself dying alot very quickly. am i doing somthing wrong? any tips would be great

Don't tank, you're profession really isn't close to that ability, except for specific mishs you can run (i.e. Sanctum Cay).

Imo, use a vampiric scythe with Zealous Vow. If you can't get it, use AoG (easily obtainable relatively early in NF), to keep your health up a bit. Zealous scythes are prettymuch the best mod you can afford, except when you have good energy function. Then use vampiric (recommended) or sundering (not 100% great, but works).

I can see three possible problems with your Dervish.

1. Heroes/Henchmen aren't good enough
2. You have a low level/poor armor.
3. Runes and Insignias are not properly fitted.

If you're looking for survivability through skills, there are two that can help you out.

First option: Conviction

Pros:
- +24 armor
- No Cast Time
Cons:
- You have to spec into Earth Prayers

Second Option:
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Great_Dwarf_Armor
Great Dwarf Weapon
Pros:
- +24(48) armor
- +60hp
- Get energy and HP back when ends
- 48 seconds with 20% enchantment
- Don't have to spread stats
Cons:
- 1 second cast time
- More likely to be stripped

I'm not sure about tanking, but Dervishes can live and dish it out with the right teammates. Might want to invest in getting a Minion Master too, they rock at tanking a lot of stuff. Also, always use a Vampiric over Sundering, it just does more damage.

Probably a silly question but do you have max armor with decent runes/insignias?.If not that should be your priority. My main is a Dervish and i mainly tank and i rarely have any trouble, ok ,Dervish armor isn't really suited to tanking but i have vanquished all of Elona and most of Cantha and EOTN with very little trouble,stick with it and you will get used to it.
