Dervs fun ?
I just recently played the trial for nightfall and so far it seem fun but my trial ended. So I just wanted to ask those that play derv's if they have fun playing it. PvE and PvP. Im getting nightfall later this week so ill be able to see for myself but I just want to see what everyone thinks of this class till then.

They're incredibly fun until you realize that 97% of what they do can be done better by other professions.
The other 3% is still fun, but you know, it's kind of annoying.

Don't buy the game just to play a dervish. It's an online game, but you'll end up playing by yourself since no one wants to group with underpowered dervishes.

Oh c,mon guys, dervs are not that bad. They can hit nice with Asuran Ascan, Aura of Holy Might, I Am The Strongest, and just bring the off da hook energy management Zealous Wov.
Plus, dervs are awesome looking. Much people disagree with that, but i like theese hoody people. Just don't include "Reaper" in your character name, thats lame.

I agree, don't listen all the ppl that say they suck, they don't, I'm having much more fun on my derv than i ever did on my warrior, and yes, my warrior reached far before being ditched, trying all warrior weapons + scythe, still not fun for me atleast, too slow with them for some reason. On the other hand on my derv I have much more fun, and faster gameplay, which, IMHO can only be owned by an assassin with it's speedy gameplay and better usage of the scythe. Nevertheless, give dervish a shot, if you like it, stay with it, I know I did.

Dervs are awesome! So what, a warrior and a sin can use a scythe better, dervs are way more fun.
And: Awarrior looks like a guy on to much steroids and a sin looks like they can be blown away by the wind, so small and skinny (especially the females). Dervs on the other hand have Hoods. How badass does that look

I wouldn't say they "suck" but they are definitely inferior to other professions. However, they are the only profession with the awesome scythe-swinging animations, and the sexy armor.

I once asked my guild if Dervs were any good in comparison to other classes at dealing damage.
The guild leader replied by singing "Anything you can do I can do better"

Who cares if Assassins or Warriors can do some more damage with a scythe? That doesn't mean the Dervish can't dish it out too, just because they can't dish out as much doesn't make them completely useless, but that seems to be the way of thinking around here.

I play Dervish, Warrior, Assassin. If you are talking about playing through the game and the missions, Dervish will do fine. Most important thing, though, is that you play what you like, what you enjoy.
Tip for any melee class, find a little longbow or flatbow in the starting area. This will be one of the bows that has no marksmanship requirement. It is good for pulling, and much later in the game for starting combat.

It all depends if you want your guild mates to play with you.
Dervishes are fun at the beginning when you're stoked on having a scythe and looking dope.
But after that you realize a warrior can tank and do more damage.
Any caster can do more damage (Any caster.....)
Rangers can shutdown and even throw down spikes
Paragons can either own damage wise or party support wise....
Sins can spike quicker.
I guess the best part of being a dervish is being able to hit 3 foes....

I don't care if supposely a Warrior or Assassin can do more damage than I can with my scythe. It's still not going to make me want to play a Warrior or use my Assassin with my weapon other than daggers.
I love my Dervish. I love the way they look, I love their style, I like wielding a scythe, and I like the sheer flexibility that that profession affords (Earth Prayers is the most flexible attribute line in the game, I think, in that it allows you to do...well, pretty much everything). And I find them much more fun than the other melee options in the game.

Ok... all this talk about Dervs sucking and how other classes are better at DPS. Considering everyone has either Scythesin or Scythewar in mind when they say that, it makes sense to buy NF if only to just have those skills available.
