AoB is +40 armor, which makes you take half damage. Guess what? Lasting twice as long is not nearly long enough to take a guard post when ordinarily you'd be dead before getting one hit in. All AoB means is that you'll get 4 or 5 hits in before you die. Too bad that's not enough to take a guard post.

Taking down a guard post is not really that hard with a dervish. I did it all the time. Keep Mirage Cloak up, shadow step in and take them out. Victorious Sweep for a good health boost, and Faithful/Watchful Intervention for cover and that's it.

I already had a D/A with VoS ( Silence ) for RA, read this and wiki LA, man I gotta say, came up with a D/A build for RA for this today that rocks.
Good call my man, good call.
doing 170+ dmg ( with double attack?!?! ) against a W/any using healing sig is ubsurd if Im on Death Blossom. I just lol them to death. Its that easy.
I have no self condition removal and 2 heals and a rez so meh, but we got to TA 3 times on 3 different Ra teams I had today, and the dps my build did was nice.
Way to inspire. Thanks for creativity.

As alluded to by a previous poster, IN ALL THREE OF THOSE ALMOST ANY BUILD WILL WORK.
The real test of a PvP build and skill is GvG and HA. Those areas are where you can see an ineffecient build fail, and the fact is that most PvP derv builds are redundant or ineffecient, especially compared to scythesins, warriors, and even rangers.

....why is still ppl playing all the same builds for derv??? It's one of the most powerfull profession and u can just spam the same lame-azz builds??
Avatars in pvp: suck at all.....elite down for 120 secs.
Wouding strike: powerfull skill, but as always u meet the plague touch necro and he spam it back.
Healer derv: simply ridiculous....let the monks and rits heal and get a scythe. I can understand a support derv/para, but it's not that usefull in TA or RA.
Dagger derv: a sin can do it better then u an d u cannot use many usefull skills from the critical strikes.....
Faithful intervention and mystic regen suck as heal and everyone goes on using it.....
The dervish as another problem: no conditions removal from his prof and abuse of enchants, which can be stripped, currupted etc etc etc...
I personally use only one enchant (which is my elite) and another 2 spells for self hex removal and self heal. It works perfectly and i do not spam any conditions, only a bunch of dmg.

Use a standard wounding strike build. Include Bulls strike and Harriers haste. You will kill anything that kites you without defence. OgGjkyqJbOMFA8AG6iuF3kbBAA [Treasure it]

dervs are a very poorly designed class and no one rly wants them to exist. they are part of the reason for the decline of this game.

This bothers me.
I barely ever use WS anymore and I still pump out big damage. It's all about targeting. My current addiction is onslaught. It's basically rampage as one without the high energy cost. The attribute investment syncs with the "nerfed" chilling victory, and it's great for bar compression, since you don't need a stance or another enchantment to compensate. In fact, you can bring the new vow of piety for an armor boost on top of that. A combination of onslaught and attacker's insight is enough to keep up the stance. A dervish with 11 in wind prayers can max out scythe mastery and still have 6 in mysticism or earth prayers. Add wild blow for an auto-crit, and victorious sweep for another big damage boost/heal.
There are still a lot of combinations that people just haven't used, or just don't use because of non-meta related stigma.
