Yeah I know, nothing to do with balance, but still would be nice.
Yeah, dervishes got so nice combat animations and instead we get the ones from another class. And also appearence <.< Couldn't they make it more descreet, like something that recalls that god but not changing you at whole...maybe...don't know...hands? aura? something more like that

AoM: make whole party immune to conditions (gives dervish a role in areas with lots of conditions)
AoD: remove one hex from whole party with each skill use (same but for hex heavy areas)
AoB: make whole party move faster
AoL: give whole party more energy
nice idea but i think instead of making the whole party immune to conditions with melandru as that seems quite OP it should be like dwayna and remove one on skill use.

Overpowered? In PvE? Certainly not. As for PvP, that's why we have skill splits.

'Infinite' was an exaggeration. If the monk is casting Patient, Guardian, etc on you every once in a while whenever you're under pressure (which is just going about their daily business), you'll have good energy management. If no pressure is directed at you, you're in a low level arena and don't have a monk, or you have a rit backline, you won't have very good energy management.

The top part was mostly directed to PvP. And yea, I know this is the campfire, but the thread's about the derv update, which I hope will help dervs out in both PvP and PvE.

The first three are pretty OP.

In PvE, your above quote here is out of touch with reality. You'd gain energy, but you'd in no way have good energy management from "once and a while" casting.

AoG would only be slightly better than Orders (and require both an elite slot and a PvE slot to boot), most conditions are worthless in PvE, and how many areas will involve the entire party getting stacked with hexes?

Putting something in quotes doesn't make that line of text magically appear in the post I quoted.

It was in the post you quoted; it's the second part.

Eh, okay. AoM and AoD might not be OP (I wouldn't know; I haven't been doing PvE much lately).

The reason I find AoG OP is because it would stack with orders, and physical damage with orders is already really powerful.

Does having more than 1 AOG in the party equals stacking of lifesteal? Because if it does, then we are looking at some serious balance issues. And party wide effects is just simply too imbalance especially if you throw in other avatars as well. I would not touch avatar skills at all as they will always stay as one trick ponys which are either useless or obscenely OP. Concentrate on reworking the dervish enchantments and scythe attacks instead.

Ok, that might be a legitimate criticism. Still, it's the kind of thing that would make the skill worth using.

The reason we find party-wide bonuses for avatars OP is because they so clearly are. Gogo team with 5 avatars and 3 random PuGgies, you'd have so many bonuses you could just c-space through any area in the game. Well, you'd have to use attack skills to trigger Dwayna's effect, but you get the big idea.

You're ignoring one crucial detail: to get said bonuses one has to sacrifice an insane amount of dps. In this hypothetical example, with 5 avatars you'd lose something like 150 dps for the whole party versus a bunch of zealous vow dervs.

Lyssa + Grenth have that more than covered, and then there's 3 more avatars giving you free bonuses.

Already considered those. Otherwise you'd be down by 200.

But even if you were right, don't even try to tell me that's anywhere near as powerful as some of the other things in this game.

Here is my two cents on Avatar changes. Make them just barely maintainable with about 14 in mysticism. Adjust energy and casting times to a reasonable balance. Remove typed damage they currently have. Change the Avatars to better reflect the diety they represent.

AoB= IAS instead of IMS and give 10-20% AP. Keep +40AR.

AoD= Like reaper said, give us some party support features. Healing and or hex/condition removal. It might not be imba but it would give the derv more options when filling a team.

AoG= Increase life stealing. And maybe add something off the wall like if you die closest dead party member is resurrected.(grenth likes rezzez)

AoL= Attack skills interrupt foes +damage if it was a spell. Keep +20e

AoM= Add +10-20AR and/or attack skills cause weakness.

Then you can make Eternal Aura an uber PvE skill instead of its current action. Keep amount of damage and reduce duration and recharge, make it reapply itself when it ends.

I do wish they'd change the PvP-version of AoG into something other than the current "you look cool for x..y.z seconds".

Yeah. It's kind of ironic how AoG was one of the first things split, but with the change to Aegis the PvE version probably wouldn't be bad for PvP.

Avatars have never been that great for pvp tbh, disabled time and ease of rupt on a 2 second skill could keep them down most of the time.

Had a cool thought for a buff to dervishes to make them kinda like a frontline off healer

Mystic Healing- Lower Cast time to 1/4 or none and for Pve increase healing a bit
Dwayna's touch- make it aoe and lower healing

just a thought
