Dervish Update
So i'll assum most of you have seen the small note on dervish/paragon and smite monks in the mesmer preview if not then here it is...
A few other balance issues are being worked on in parallel and will be included in the same build if they are testing well enough. These will NOT include major changes to the Dervish (and in particular scythes), non-“Imbagon” Paragons, and the smiting line for the Monk. All of those are things we’ve been considering for major updates of their own. None are far enough along to be a part of this update.

That sounds to me like they're going to change some skills that work with scythes (probably to include some advantages for Dervish primaries over secondaries), but they've not yet gone past the brainstorming phase of the update.

More likely something along the lines of scythes no longer hitting multiple targets for classes other than Dervish. Perhaps tying it to mysticism such that more targets are struck as this attribute increases.

not pass the brainstorming stage? They betetr be for god's sake we should be seeing it within this month...at this rate we'll not see all those updates. But yeh probably some half assed buff or buff with subsequent nerf to destroy multiclassing even more.

might even be something like increased attack speed with a scythe only, for each rank in mysticsm. something that gives them an edge over other classes who like to play scythe, so u dont need a secondary for IAS.
plus the obvious change to some scythe attack skills.
probably find i get flamed somehow for this, but oh well. Mini

There is no possible way that the scythe mention is going to turn out as anything other than a nerf.

Maybe Scythes won't hit multiple targets using non-dervish melee skills ;-)

Yes but the scythe changes are within the 'mesmer' update.

My bad read it wrong, thought it meant scythes were the only update towards dervishes. 1 class being fixed over what's been a period of ~3-4 months, not good...

Yeah probably a nerf...like remove the chance of hitting adjacent foes is what i was thinking they would remove.

probably. I dont like playing dervs anyway but this is one of the main reasons i do(splinter+ scythe+ increased attack speed=ftw). So if they get rid of this im guessing ppl teetering on the decision will probably pass on dervs if this is implimented. oh well looks like there will be even less dervs in the world...

I belive they are trying to get people to get more used to the idea of if your a warrior primary, you should use warrior skills mainly and etc. they are trying to merge people into that idea cuz in GW2 there is not gonna be a primary/secondary class option.

It better not be a derv nerf.. We got nerfed enough.. High avatar energy costs, Vow of Strength Nerfed, we already have to cast enchants let alone spam attack skills. Give us a break.

I Know this is gonna be a ways off but what are people thinking their going to do in regards to scythes?

That sounds to me like their going to change the scythes themselves not just the skills.

Doesnt say anything about "appearance" of the scythes being changed. It can be dmg or how many targets it hits.
