I use these two builds for Fort Aspenwood some of the time. I had goods success when I used them.

Shadow Refuge
Shadow Form
Shadow of Haste
Mark of Instability
Black Lotus Strike
Twisting Fangs
Falling Spider
Blades of Steal

You will need an Enchantment mod on your daggers, my preference is the +5 energy ones with 20% enchantment and Barbed. I have not run into an energy issue but one of my armor peices is shrouded, so I total out as 32 points of energy.

The reason you want the enchantment mod is so that your Shadow Form skill will outlast your Shadow of Haste skill, they are doth from the same discipline and has the same amount of time before it will expire. This will insure your removed out of harms way before Shadow Form expires (I always cast Shadow Form first and then Shadow of Haste) cause Shadow Form is an enchantment skill and Shadow of Haste is a stance.

The only two major problems I have is the recharge of three of the skills are greater then 20, and that you have to have a hex on them to start a combo and you want that hex to be Mark of Instability so you can use all your combo and not part of it. (I don’t carry a Resurrect Signet and you don’t need it for Fort Aspenwood or Jade Quarry)

I will at times replace Shadow Form and Shadow of Haste with Aura of Displacement and Scorpion Wire, this gives me another hex to use that I can follow up with Falling Spider and eventually to Black Lotus Strike. Plus, it is good for those that like to run. My other build are these changes.

Not exactly. Zealous = 1 less energy regen, if you're spending 30e on a combo with 2 dual attacks, it happens something like this (using Palm Strike, I wouldn't use Zealous on my other combo since the energy management is already great)-

10e (Palm Strike)
5e (HotO) + 2e (Dual)
5e (Falling Spider) + 1 e (Offhand)
10e (Twisting Fangs) + 2e (Dual)

That amounts to an X-20e+5e, that means that in 5 hits, you need to regen 15e. That means that almost all your hits in that combo have to be criticals.

It's a lot easier to just use Assassin's Promise + Black Lotus Strike.

you forget about crit strikes, which can give 17 extra energy per crit strike at 12. Which is... ~42% chance for a crit i think.

Well my problem with this build is recharge time, I got plenty of energy to use (with black lotus strike does a nice refill), just no skills to use them on as I wait to use them again, I can put serious damage to even wars, but if they are at full health then I hope they didnt pack a heal so the degen gets them, if I try stay untill it is I am able to use them again I am only doing 0-5 points of damage to them, while they do 50+ to me.

I have a couple of times used the scorpion wire to pop me back when I turn off my AOD, so I can hit them two more times with falling spider and a dual attack, but its not as easy as it seems. and it dont always kill them.

I really like the latter build to the first, just the first is a bit more fun

Shadow Refuge
Scorpion Wire
Aura of Displacement
Mark of Instability
Black Lotus Strike
Twisting Fangs
Falling Spider
Blades of Steal
