Hello guys,

I have been wondering and trying to go for the survivor title lately with no luck from other chars. But i have one last option for me and thats the assasssin, i was wondering could it be possible for an assassin to get the survivor title? Even when used properly, its really hard not to melee with an assassin if thats all you can do. For instance, during the beginning of the game, there are afflicted...

When you kill them with melee attacks, they explode and you practically die or lose 50% of your hp right there.

So is getting survivor title practically impossible?

useing assassin only skills are going to make it rough, for the afflicted death nova's you've pointed out; think the secodary you choose is going to be a big factor for it.

first and foremost, your going to have to direct your bot's (i.e. henchmen) correctly, use the shift - ctrl- space to send them in first - this will let you hang back and play your assassin properly.

one of the things you can do, is do every quest for all the secondary classes B4 you choose one, that way you can nab all that xp in the low level areas, and maybe nab the title before you even leave the island - reduceing how many afflicted you fight while trying to earn it.

for the afflicted, go with a secondary that has some range for you... ranger, el, mes, etc... this way you can run in and deal your sin spike dmg, then pull back and finish off with some arrows, fireballs, and what not. - you can use bows without the ranger secondary, but the lack of marksmenship will keep the dmg on it low.

i actually ran a E/A sin build that utilises the spike, tp out, fireball finisher and was able to get her to house of zu with only 10 deaths. most of which were self suicides on afflicted novas for the good of the group. - GL

i hnate getting stuck in afflicted death novas. Especialy when my team decide to actually kill some. I end up getting stuck in 4 before i can dissenchant return

On 12 deaths, using PUG's and some Guildys who want to use pbaoe e/a to spike.

ive seen about 6 survivor assassins in the pas few months.

SO yes, it can be done. Just know how to play the assassin and it shouldnt be harder than getting it for ranger

i tried, got to lvl 14, then Anet lagged me out and got me killed in the proces >.<

later on, diff char, got to lvl 17, then died while getting max armor in bukdek byway (aggro by henches...) >.<

but it's certainly doable!

My assassin never left Shing Jea island until level 20. There are a whole lot of quests hidden on that Island, and some open when you have done a previous quest. My healer, for instance, is now 19.5, and still has 3 quests left on that island. One of them being the Lost treasures quest and 2 of master Togo trying to get rid of a Red Skull siege.
You can get your first survivor title fairly easy, if you don't rush through the first island.

i did plan on getting to lvl 20 on the island, but i had 2 guildies guiding me through the mainland. we just didn't expect to get caught there.

heh, blame it on my impatience lol.

Guildies are nice, but can't help you with the enless grinding through the levels. Assassins have to fight, that makes them very vulnerable.

I got to 139k xp without dying with my sin. did vizuhn square with henchies. got through the first wave of afflicted, then the second... then i thought, "where the hell is the other group?" just as i looked over at my party bar i saw mhenlo's life rapidly dropping. "OH SHIT!" i thought to myself as i quickly hit M to map out. but it was too late. mhenlo died which caused the mission to fail, which in turn killed my sin. i was like under 1k xp until i would have recieved survivor... total bs

No. Failing a mission with having Togo or Mhenlo die does not f**k up your survivor title. At least it didn't do it for me on my ranger and warrior.

And also you can always click the "X" in the upper right corner

My assasin is a level 1 so far, progressing nicely to level 2 survivor. I've quitted out about 4 times?, only when playing with henchmen. Seems doable for level 2 and evetually, 3, provided I don't get careless/have really bad luck (lag-freezing in mission would suck).

Try leveling on tyria. It is easier.

Mine made it to level one, and then about to 225k experience, and almost half way to level 2.. played with henchies, and NEVER quit out on it. trusted one pug in nahpui quarter and RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed up the whole game.

I beat both Proph and Factions with only 6 deaths on my sin. I've also seen alot of Sin survivors.
