Default Fury Assassin

Thanks to the double faction weekend, I've been able to unlock some more elites after starting to play assassin last week.

I found the skill "Locust's fury" to be really quite good. At first I didn't really get what it was going on about "Double strike", but it basically means sometimes your attacks (and skills) hit twice.

The build I came up with is as follows:

Locusts Fury {E}
Way of Perfection
Golden Lotus Strike
Fox fangs
Critical Strike
Golden Pheonix Strike
Blades of Steel
Ressurection signet

The way it works is this: Cast both Locusts Fury and Way of Perfection. I can't remember my attributes exactly, but both lasted for 28 seconds, and as they both have a recharge of about the same, you can keep them up at all times.

Start with a Golden Lotus Strike. This skill is very useful, as quite a few of the skills (locusts fury, critical strike, golden pheonix strike) have 10 energy cost, so this helps a lot in maintaining energy.

Follow it up in the order posted:

Golden Lotus Strike - Fox Fangs - Critical Strike - Golden Pheonix Strike - Blades of Steel.

I've always been able to do these without stopping for energy recharge, and the result is deadly. If you get a double strike on blades of steel then you can deal 86 damage twice, which is very nasty.

Although this build does not have an instant self heal such as Shadow refuge, if you keep way of perfection up then you gain about 30 health every critical hit, and they are more common under locust's fury as well.

Also, I've not tried it yet, but I bet a vampiric mod would be pretty good as well. I'll test that out once I unlock one.

Comments?

Critical strike is a dual attack, correct? personally, i would swap it for twisting fangs for the deepwound.

Locusts Fury is next to useless the curent meta game for sins, wich is: zip in, combo, zip out.

Locusts Fury will force you to stay in battle to keep dual striking. Also, I think dual striking don't hit when you use attacks...so combo'oing is next to useless.

So...not on off-hand attacks...wich every assassin always uses. For Dual Attacks...it already hits twice.

Try combining with Flurry + Vampiric Tangs, you should drastically increase damage and health gain.

Lies. You never double strike on attack skills of any kind.

Critical Strike is actually very good and cost 10 energy, u gain back 3*2=6 energy atleast. If u are using critical eye and zealous daggers u gain 8 energy back. Also critical hits heal you if you have on "Way of Perfection".

So it cost only 2 energy and deal 31*2 dmg and heal you about ~54 hp. Don't forgot recharge is 6 seconds.

---------edit---------
Ups! Calculated wrond. It cost 0 energy if u are wearing zealous daggers and using Critical Eye enchantment. And have critical strikes atleast 13.

this makes me think of an extremely powerful attack chain

MoI>BLS>CS>FS>TF>Moebius Strike with enough room left for crit eye and a res, ultimate KD + Degen plus 7 hit, renewing skill chain, and since MoI needsabsolutley no points in deadly arts line, you are free to pump crit and dagger. Once I can get Moebius Ima use this chain.

MoI is a non-specialised skill, like a res sig.

hmmm... seems vaguely familular to my current build, MoI>BLS>TF>FS>HotO>Moebius.

Was looking for a different dual to replace HotO

Could replace HoTO with iron palm, by the time you get to it there are more than enough conditons on the target to not have to set up for Iron Palm.

oh yah celab, I need to switch CS and TF in my attack chain, to apply Deep wound early in the attack chain, also CS is good to replace HotO if you are using MoI fo the sake of superior energy management.

You cannot double strike on off-hand attacks. I'm relatively certain you cannot double strike on lead attacks, either.

Locusts' Fury is a weak skill due to it being in Critical Strikes line and Assassins having little to no armor/mitigation and required to be in the thick of battle.

Locusts would be good in a PvE area coupled with Crit Eye and Crit Defenses and Wayof Perfection for soloing
