I am trying hard to think of a time I would be so useless to a team that the mediocre Flesh Golem outperforms me...but I am failing pretty badly.
However......if you really need the golem that badly, flag your henchies away, pick a target, spike it, and step out, leaving a corpse for Olias and yourself alive. Also, if you really want a Golem instead of a fiend, just command Olias to cast that spell.

Lets put it this way: Flesh Golems don't get death penalty.
Also... I can set my monks to use certain special resurrects that will prevent death penalty upon termination... then why should dying even matter?
As an occasional DP-Surfer... I'm SO glad to have a Flesh Golem around to help burn off the penalty.
