Ranger/Assassin Build
Ok, this build is full of near beginner skills so you can get them all quite early(apart from one elite which can be swapped out). This was when I had just gotten Factions, and since I didnt want to make an Assassin, I made my Ranger a R/A.
Skills
1.Escape{E}*
2.Lightning Reflexes
3.Whirling Defence
4.Jagged Strike
5.Jungle Strike
6.Death Blossom
7.Shadow Refuge
8.Troll Unguent
*Can be switched out for Flashing Blades{Easliy capped early on in Faction}
Attributes
12 Dagger Mastery(can lower to 11 or maybe 10)
10+1 Expertise
8+3+1 Wilderness
Put whatever you got left into Shadow Arts
Runes
Superior WIlderness
Minor Expertise
I found that this build can take out Warriors,Assassins,Dervishes and spellcasters on some occassions.It can also solo most shrines etc. in Competitive Mission (Aspenwood,AB etc) and is perfect for people who are in the same position as I was.
I don't feel like getting flamed but I would appreciate your comments,views and constructive criticism.

go major exp and major WS so u get 12 exp, which is a breakpt on most of ur skills. Also, Wild Strike > Jungle Strike. Shadow Refuge with 2 SA is sooo FTL. Natural Stride pwns. What exactly is this for?

With all the 5E skills increasing expertise to 13 might be even better and give longer duration on your defensive stances. I'd suggest 10+1+2 expertise and 8+2 WS.
I think apply poison works on daggers too, might be an option to toss that in. Natural Stride could be usefull

Amy- Apply Poison could work as Death Blossom hits adjacent enemies.
Sparta-I use the build for some PvE situations and Competitive missions(Aspenwwod,AB etc.) and it seems to work there at capping shrines with little or no help from allies(mainly against melee classes and rangers)

I know a guy who uses something similar. I'm probably going to go R/A when I get my ranger far enough.

I would concider removing Whirling Defence, since Escape and Lightning Reflexes are chainable, or allmost anyways.. maybe add apply poison or something else fancy to it.

The thing with Whirling is if you come up against a shrine with rangers defending it, they will just fire away and you will be dealing a constant flow of damage to them.

Keep Whirling D...apply poison is great for many melee ranger builds, especially with skills that hit multiple mobs/foes. If you can get away with higher expertise and lower Wilderness Survival, your energy management will keep you hitting longer. A technique I've read about somewhere (can't recall) also suggests using Storm Chaser for the energy kick when taking elemental damage...seems silly to use it and just stand there, but if you don't need to run and you are running low on energy while trying to finish someone off...it works pretty well (like using Bonnetti's Defense as a Warrior) with the option of runnng if you get into trouble....just a thought.

This build is all about evasion stances, managing to take out melee classes without taking any or minimal damage. I'll try today with higher expertise and using Storm Chaser and post the results.

well... i think ranger with daggers is against his nature... but if you really want to do it take out [wiki]Escape[/wiki] because this is only good if you are only running... i don't know much about Assassin's elites... but i quite like Moebius Strike... don't know if it would be doable or not...
imho

At 14 et, between escape and lightning reflexes, you have about 4 seconds of downtime every 30 seconds. Taking another stance seems overkill, IMO.
Also, why even bother with troll unguent when you can have things like shadow refuge and heart of shadow? Take it out, it's redundant.
So I would probably have a build like this:
expertise 14
daggers 12
shadow 8
escape{E}
lightning reflexes
<dagger attack>
<dagger attack>
<dagger attack>
<dagger attack>
shadow refuge
heart of shadow/res
Nice concept though

does apply poison and death blossom work together for aoe poison? last time i checked, db doesnt actually "hit" all those enemies. it hits one dude 2x, but each hit gives a set dmg to surrounding enemies. i tried vigorous spirit and hit like 10 of those dudes outside of ice tooth cave with db and only got the heal thing 2x, not 20x.

Yes, it is a dual attack(hits the same guy twice) but it also hits adjacent enemies.I'm not sure if Apply Poison will poison them all.
Krazi-It only hits twice on the guy you are targeting(it wont it every enemy twice), so you would only get 12x it it works.
*EDIT* Ok, I misread Death Blossom.It doesnt hit adjacent enemies, they just take so much damage so it couldnt work with Apply Poison to poison adjacent foes.

Apply Poison and Death Blossom doesn't work. They take damage, you don't actually hit them.
You really don't need 12 Wilderness Survival for 1 skill. I would say you'd be far better off boosting Expertise to 14. Lightning Reflexes has its 11second breakpoint. Escape and Whirling have a longer duration. Your 5e skills cost 2 energy as off 13exp. Your 10e skills cost 4e.
The only reason to use WS would be if you were using both Apply Poison and Unguent, even then you could probably get away with a Sup Expertise and Major Wilderness Survival. You do have an extremely large series of 75% block skills, Escape is a speed boost for a quick... Escape... You have high AL vs Elemental damage anyway. So outside of massive focus fire and large amounts of degen/armour ignoring damage you should be safe.
