I love my assassin; I find her more interesting to use than a warrior. I especially enjoy combining Critical Strikes and Scythe Mastery and doing hilarious amounts of damage, with a self-renewing Critical Defenses to liberate her from bungee-fighting. The build is too straightforward for PvP, and eles pose a problem in elite PvE, but I've found it effective and fun for regular campaigns.

so sadly yeah, armor discrimination for the assassin could be the only way to go to prevent a time bomb such as yourself on the team.

1) The AB I met you in was a long time ago, I say I don't forget things.

2) I might not have 100Ks at a time, but I make enough for plenty ascended armors, My assassin himelf has 15K Imperial in White, and more than 1/2 to getting the rest of my Vabbian set, he also have many greens and gold daggers. My Mesmer has Elitesunspear, and 1.5K Luxon in black, my Ranger, warrior and Dervish also have ascended armors and max weapons. SO I'd say as far a wealth, I've done pretty well for myself.

3)You are elitest, as I recall, you once made a thread to show off your assassin armors, talking about how it was the envy of all assassin, dispite the fact there is a whole topic for assassins in the screenshot section, when people started to say (me included) that the armors were not that good, you assumed that we were jealous, and noobs.

This happened in a more recent topic in which you asked for more storage for all your assassins 7 ascended sets, when people (me one of them) started question your armors, you assumed that I was jealous and said that I had no ascended armor.

As far as I care, an elitist is someone who ACTS better than others because they are richers, this turns into a form of bulling (or Discrimination) and the elitists simple assume that people don't like them out of jealousy and therefore dismiss their opinions like you have offen done to me.

And that's the truth. If you want me to prove that I have that armor, just ask, I'll be more than happy to post screenshots.

Thats what I don't like about GW now. Once you get to the first max armor outlet you're done. You now have access to fow armor with a different skin. GG.

The only point to armor is looks, and that just sucks. They need to add special qualities to different sets of armor and weapons, so people can not only look unique, but BE unique from everyone else. I hate having access to the best equipment right at the beginning and then spending all my gold on nothing but looks.

The point is, you buy armor because YOU like it, not so that you can impress people. In my belief, people who constantly try to look good to impress others are rather pathetic. Be yourself and nothing more!

...are you playing the right game? The whole point is so that you don't have an unfair advantage over other players with max armor, and so that you can look how you like without needing to worry about stats.

Oh boy, this thread is quickly spiralling out of control...

15k Armor =/= to good player, BUT with the "hated" classes (ie. assassin) it normally indicates that the player has some pretty good skill to at least spend the time getting the armor. HOWEVER, it can also mean that their farming 55 monk or Wammo farmed the world to kingdom come because they think sin armor looks better.

I only use 1.5k canthan shrouded armor, and I can rip mobs to shreds in PvE (no, I am NOT using DB). And those mobs aren't lv 2 Mantid Drones :P More like 2-3 lv 20+

You make an overuse of the term, "Elitist," and you always use it on anyone that seems to have more confidence than you. So call me an elitist all you want. *shrugs*. During the the time Ancient Assassin Armor was introduced, those who got it fell in love with it and those that couldn't simply had nothing but bad things to say. Now I wouldn't call it the envy of all sin armors cause it's obtainable (to atleast some). I still catch sin players who just start out mention the reason why they made this class was to also get the Ancient Armor. This is where I can only agree with you the most. However, the moment you meet a player that is rich and just happens to love collecting armor is already an elitist. If I wanted so badly to impress people the way you are putting it, then I'd be in a Kurzick Faction Farming Guild running the Lutgardis Conservatory quest 24/7 just to help keep a pointless imaginary town. I play Guild Wars for myself and just because I seem to be very fond of the different cultures of armor I shouldn't be persecuted for it. You aren't wrong there. However to get to the armor too your assassin has to be able to reach the places to get them. You're character do have their own map. I'm sure you are a pretty good assassin, however when you meet so many bad ones at the majority of the time and you just want to get by one of those time-clocked master missions, you just don't want to waste time, so quick judgements are always in the mix. As long you do what makes you happy, who cares what others say.

Why do people hate on the assassins so much? What could the solutions be? How are you sure you can trust an assassin player (even when used a favored wiki build, which yet many still get slaughtered) that wont try and be a tank even if you warned him not to?

People hate assassins because of:
1)Many mistaked Assassins for Ninjas
2) they were the 1st melee class without the high armor warriors had, so unlike the Dervish, the low AL on melee was new to people.
3)Like Flux said, using a wiki build, you can get slaughtered still, it's one thing to put the right skills on a bar, but it requires more to use the them skills right. If people take builds off wiki and expect them to work instantly, they are doomed to fail.

I believe the OP's purpose was to band assassins together, and obviously we have a dispute.

To get back on topic(Assassin Hate) I think that people take the assassin profession too seriously such as, I'VE GOTTA KILL THIS GUY!!!!!!!ONE!!!. This leads to not kiting/teleporting out before they die. If you just have fun and pay attention you wont die as much. Unless your idea of fun is tanking ^^

Flashing blades does make it possible for an assassin to tank, as far as PvE goes, and naturally, most assassins should take some kind of self heal.
