Assassins in DoA
So i was just curious if it is possible to get a group for DoA as an assassin? Which i highly doubt since PuGs have no trust for them since the first week when people tried to tank. If i can't get in a group while using daggers, would i be able to get in using a crit barrage build. (though its not to assassinish ).

Yeah, if a mesmer can find a group so can assassin.
Honestly, doubt it.
So many people are just so deep in the holy trinity w/e/mo that it's not even funny.
+ assassins have reputations of suiciders so yeah...

Crit barrage MIGHTget a group in urgoz but b/p isnt really used in doa (as far as i know). Basicly outside the "holy trinity" your basicly looking at your f-list.
Doa sucks anyhow .

Most people still have the mentality that 'sins will get 60% DP before most other people will hit 50% health.
This was mostly (not entirely, but mostly) caused by the fact that Afflicted Soul explosions would destroy us, and the first generations of 'sins charged in blindly like they had 100 AL.
If you want to get into a group as a 'sin, you need to get a good guild. If that's not an alternative because (for some perverse reason) you actually want to join a PuG, you're going to need patience several orders of magnitude above whatever level of patience you have right now.

Yeah
Yes, sins are not welcome in DoA. For a good reason. When I came there I was pissed nobody took me and I made this video.. (PS, like I said, I was pissed, but I understand now) City is easy, but then I got to gloom and foundry, and the reason being is that the PBAoE is way too high. It's not meant for sins, although I would've loved to farm DoA. But then tombs is sin-friendly, so I guess I can't say we don't have anything.

Could you give stats and skills of assa and bonder? I can figure out assa skills (but that "I Am The Strongest!" was hard to recognize... But I can't see what skills monk uses.

Good job bastard, do you realize what you've done?
You've killed the mentality of many pve players and they all will be sitting, staring at this vid with retarded "durrrr" sound.
Hope you're proud of yourself.
Too bad it's too late now since DoA is dead anyway ;d

Wtf are you talking about? That is a solo build. The searing flames build was the best team build. Am I missing your point or something?

Arcane Mimicry?
.... Why?
Deadly Paradox, Arcane Echo, 16 Shadow Arts and a 20% longer enchants mod are all that are required to maintain Shadow Form permanently.... assuming you've got the timing down pat (activate the Arcane Echoed SF when the DP'ed Shadow Form recharge gauge hits the bottom left corner... then start the chain over the MOMENT Arcane Echo recharges).
And with the rest of your points and skill slots you can do anything you like.... just about.
Was just the other day I was mapping Vehtendi Canyon with Herohench and maintained Shadow Form constantly from one end of the explorable to the other. Didn't let it up once in about half an hour. It only falls off if you make a stupid mistake and slip up on the timing, which if you're experienced never happens....
... Well... that and the usual case for sensibility... Don't go near Chilblains necros, AoE-Enchant Dervishes en masse, over trap-fields or near anything with some form of Interrupt Signet.

With changes from updates I think Assasin's potentially have a place in DoA as a tank. I don't think most realize it yet, but it is now possible to permanently maintain Shadow Form. It does take practice and a good connection though. But with practice it becomes relatively easy to execute and is consistent and reliable.
A/Me
Atrributes:
16 Shadow Arts
9 Dagger Mastery
8 Critical Strikes
Skills:
Deadly Paradox
Arcane Echo
Shadow Form
Optional (Shrinking Armor)
Optional (Black Lotus Strike)
Optional (Twisting Fangs)
Optional (Black Spider Strike)
Optional (Critical Strike)
Equipment:
+5 Energy Zealous Daggers of Enchanting
Armor /w all radiant insignias and attunement runes. (You should have 44 energy)
Usage:
1. Cast Deadly Paradox, then Arcane Echo, then Shadow Form
2. Run into the mobs and attack one
3. When Shadow Form recharge is at lower left diagonal corner, cast your copied Shadow Form.
4. Restart with step 1 just before Arcane Echo recharges.
I have tested this in Foundry of Failed Creations. I used a hero monk to cast a full bar of maintainable enchantments on me, Life Barrier, Life Bond, etc. I was able to solo the first wave of mobs by myself. The Titans that came afterwards overwhelmed me with AoE spells that hit through Shadow Form, so I suppose that is a weakness of this build.

Yeah if you go A/E you can run a shadow form sin with sliver armor (I think thats it? Earth magic skill). You basically shadow form, use the stance that warps you back when it ends, death charge into the middle of a group, cast sliver armor, lightbringer's gaze, and once an enemy or two dies, use dash to end your other stance and warp out. Its not really fast but you can solo a few groups in Gloom that way. Used to get a few gems that way.

Changes from Updates?
When exactly did they change this?
I mean... I'm fully aware of it. I discovered precisely how to maintain permanent Shadow Form while mapping Elona and have since been using it to farm Vermin in Xaquang Skyway....
But you're saying it was due to some change or other? I don't remember them changing the functionality of Shadow Form at any point... o_0;
