Assassin Or Warrior?
I am trying to decide on a melee character.
What class does better in PvE?
Warriors seem like a damage powerhouse --> Flail, Conjure, Save Yourselves, Dragon Flash, For Great Justice...
Assassins seem to cooler abilities though I.E shadowsteps! I don't know much about assassins, but a quick glance over the assassin forums seems to suggest that MS/DB is the best combo but I have no experience with that.

Warriors seem like a damage powerhouse...they seem
Assassins are like a damage powerhouse
Warriors are better to do the tanking, taking damage and surviving, due to skills like [dolyak signet].
Assassins deal a lot of dmg, especially AoE-Dmg through the [moebius strike]/[death blossom] combo you talked about.
In terms of shadow steps i must say that they're not really useful in PvE- For example, if you aggroed some enemies, and get in danger, porting with [death's retreat] ist bad, because you pull all of your aggro to your Mid-/Backline.
In my opinion, the dmg dealt by a standard PvE-Sin ist much higher than the dmg dealt by a standard PvE-War, and the damage received by Sins is not really higher (95AL/96AL (Elemental) and 95AL/116AL (Physical))
But that's my opinion

that's wrong on so many different levels...
warriors > assassin in terms of damage. assassin is only better at dealing burst damage (aka solospiking). on every other front, warrior > assassin.

I have both, and I have to say my warrior is way more powerful, in terms of damage and survivability. Sins have awesome damage with a Moebius/Death Blossom spam, but warriors are more versatile, can use all of their weapons efficiently, strenght also adds to their damage.
It's all up to you in the end, but my advice is that you try them both, and see for yourself when suits your playing style.

Assassin definitely, they deal such a sick amount of DPS, and in PVE you can become nearly unstoppable with a moebius build and critical agility (SS skill)

Warriors are not more verastile.
On RyXXed second statement there. I have to agree. Play them both pick what you want. If you pick a profession by what people say; chances are you wont be happy with it.

sins are better than warriors in only one arena: alliance battles. that's simply because assassins can shadowstep better (aka better mobility, which is huge) and do not need to build adrenaline. warriors in AB generally need to do some pretty fancy adrenaline juggling to be effective.
in every other arena (that includes pve), warriors are either equal to sins, or are better.
