How much does this Suck
Hey guys....I'm relatively new to Sins. Made one long ago, then played my Rit as a main char. Came back to him, and i cant stop. I enjoy the DPS, and the energy management from critical strikes. Currently this is what i have on my bar, and I was wondering how horrible this is and what I can do to improve it.
13 Crit strikes
13 Dagger Mastery
PVE
[skill]golden fox strike[/skill]
[skill]wild strike[/skill]
[skill]death blossom[/skill]
[skill]golden lotus strike[/skill]-> mainly to reset energy
[skill]Palm Strike[/skill] -> what ive capped so far
[skill]critcal agility[/skill]
[skill]assassin's remedy[/skill]
[skill]critical eye[/skill]
Again this is PVE...and I know in PVE you can run anything. I dont want to sound difficult but I'd rather be damage+utility then straight 12121212 moby strike. Any suggestions? Thanks

Switch out Golden Lotus Strike for a utility skill or secondary profession skill (Disrupting Dagger GOGO?!??!) and just remove Palm Strike for say Res Sig.
Also, use 12+1+1 Dagger Mastery with 12+1 Crit Strikes.
Edit: When possible, try and get Moebius Strike too.
You can always capture Assassin's Promise and use a spike build though, although it won't work against some enemies.
This build shouldn't need it because it recharges oh-so fast.

I myself believe that skill is bad. You're sacrificing 1/8'th of your bar to selfish defense, which can be aquired by switching into a defensive weaponset when needed, or simply having half-decent Monks.

I took Crit Defenses on recommendation of a friend, and found myself rarely using it, even in melee heavy areas, I switched it out for utility. [Heart of Holy Flame] in undead areas, [Plague Touch] with blind spammers, but mainly [Save Yourselves], in conjuction with the Orders Derv with [Dark Fury] it charges insanely fast using [Critical Agility].

If you dont want moebius , I would say one of the daze skills like [temple strike] with [epidemic] . [save yourselves] is very good too

AoE spammage: you're already going for it. If you intend to get better at what you are doing right now, Moebius is the way forward.
Single-target daze is shite in PvE. /Me for Epidemic means no /W for Save Yourselves!. I wouldn't.
The 'other' PvE elite (the one that allows for more creative builds) is Assassin's Promise to repeat-spike your way through PvE. Stronger bosses need a lot of softening up by teammates before you can risk your Promise though, a problem you will never encounter with Blossom spamming.

i dont find save yourselves is ever needed. even when running imbagon, as much as it is laughing as we take no dmg on HM. So temp strike is pretty nice with epidemic for general PVE.

[skill]Temple Strike[/skill] for PvE tbh I didn't think I'd see it come up lol.
seems so underwhelming next to [skill]sneak attack[/skill] (-->[skill]wild strike[/skill]...)

I've always found [skill]Critical Defenses[/skill] to be an absolute necessity in most PvE (read: PUG groups) since it can save you from massive melee spikes, and its easier to heal conditions than 300+ damage for most nub monks.
And even though you don't yet have [skill]Moebius Strike[/skill], your combo is quick recharging which lends itself to staying at melee.
I'd drop [skill]Palm Strike[/skill] and [skill]Golden Lotus Strike[/skill] for another two hit combo, say [skill]Golden Phoenix Strike[/skill] and [skill]Critical Strike[/skill], which will work since you're most likely always enchanted. In case your main combo causes you to run out of energy, that short two hit combo will refill your bar quickly.
I'd also sub out [skill]Assassin's Remedy[/skill] for either [skill]Critical Defenses[/skill] or if you're a Rit secondary [skill]Sight Beyond Sight[/skill]. The choice is yours, but Factions has a lot of blind, between Afflicted Rangers and Eles spamming it to warrant the use of SBS. Even without spawning it cures you of Blind and makes you immune to hit for 8 seconds, allowing you to get off another combo (or two).

Tyla hates crit defense, so dont listen to him, he's biased (lol jk Tyla).
crit def is great when you know the area (melee or projectile heavy), or get stuck in a pug you really feel unsafe in. otherwise.. take SY!

[skill]Assassin's Remedy[/skill] > [skill]Critical Defenses[/skill]
and
[skill]assassin's remedy[/skill] > [skill]sight beyond sight[/skill]
Hell:
[skill]Mending touch[/skill] > [skill]Critical Defenses[/skill]
since we're talking about Blind, and getting criticals while Blind is quite hard
I herd Dismiss wuz popular
