Of course u got your zealous daggers of fortitude/or enchanting, ur preference and 15^50 inscriptions...and then you have the scythe. Same mods, but oooo the damage that bitch can put out XD. Let's just say if you bring a scythe, [way of the master] is your BFF

Scythe dmg = 9-41. With way of the master and high critical strikes+scythe mastery, you'll be dealing insane amounts of damage with almost guaranteed critical hit every time. Throw in other skills like [i am the strongest] and [aura of holy might] with some defense from [critical defenses] you'll be a dmg powerhouse like no other melee class. And hell, if you wanna spread conditions, bring some [wounding strike]. You'll slice through HM like butta lol

The answer? There is none. A master assassin would utilize all his available skills. He must be silent, like the night. As swift, as the wind. Surprising, like a large black inmate waiting until you're asleep before he shows you the meaning of bunk buddies. You must cut deep, like the Mariana Oceanic Trench. As quick as a Mac 11 kills seven gangbangers. The most important thing however, is to show no mercy. CUT DOWN YOUR ENEMIES WITHOUT REGRET.

It really depends on your build, there aren't any hard and fast "best weapons." In fact most builds should generally carry multiple sets.
As far as daggers go, a passable general use weapon sets would be something like:
(Elemental) daggers of fortitude
7-17
+15% above 50% health.
Vampiric daggers of fortitude
7-17
+15% above 50% health.
Zealous daggers of fortitude
7-17
+15% above 50% health.

Zealous, Vamp, and Elemental 15^50 +30hp daggers for everyday general use.
enchanting, silencing, and poison for the.. obvious usage according to those situations.. same with +5 energy. wear survivors armor, and try to always have 13 critical strikes when using daggers. thats.. pretty much it for pve..

Set 1: Zealous 15^50 Daggers of +5 Defense.
Set 2: Vampiric 15^50 Daggers of +5 Defense.
Set 3: Whatever.
Set 4: Pulling weapon -- Longbow or Flatbow.
(If you want to get fancy, keep duplicates of sets 1 & 2 with +30 health mods in your inventory for when you get heavy DP.)
Use them with this:

Moebius chains... critical scythe... critical barrage... any of those. I myself like daggers best. MS+DB chains > PvE.

Others have told you, Vamp, Zealous, and an Elemental for general use. You might want to pick the elemental type if you have any particular elemental builds you might run in the future, or otherwise just at random. Vamp is for general use, Elemental for taking down wars, Zealous if you're low on energy.
I'd like to emphasize that sundering is not worth it with daggers, because it only affects base damage. Daggers have such a low base damage (7-17) that it does almost nothing, even when it does activate.
Besides daggers, I personally carry a sword and shield (+5/+30 and [Defensive Mod of Choice]/+30) for emergency retreat situations and to switch to when not in combat (so vamp/zealous aren't degening me).
Scythe can also work well with assassins, as others have explained above.

Dude, read through these and nothing is what your looking for as far as i can see.
+5, Zealous, +30 are the mods you want on general pve daggers.
15^50 on daggers lol, what are the rest of ye on about. +15% of 7-17 dmg, lol gg.
If a +5 lets you get off an extra death blossom, i reckon that would be better eh?
Should bring extra sets aswell, +5, Vamp, +30 for extra dmg if needed and a +5, Firey/Shocking/Icy/Ebon, +30 for taking on warriors.

<IWH> builds r really fun on sins, because of crti strikes.
Daggers, imo at least, lack diversity now, because unless ur running mobeius/blossom builds or any other 123 builds, ur party shouts at u.
a couple of my fav <IWH> builds r Crit barrager, which is insanely fun in areas where the AI mobs naturaly, or Crit scythe or axe if u want some insane damage...
The base for all <IWH> is crit agility, crit eye, WotM and in some cases crit defenses (on crit scythe this is replaced by AoHM)

You shouldn't really go with only one weapon. You have 4 weapon sets available (Which the majority of this game's players don't understand so they camp one weapon set...), so you should work by switching.
I usually go with:
Zealous (15^50) Daggers of Fortitude
Zealous (+5E) Daggers of Fortitude
Martial (+5E, +30HP) + Shield (+10AL vs. *Type*)
*Whatever* Long / Flatbow for luring. Additional weapon of your choice?
I never lure, I'm a battle lion.
Oh, and if using Way of the Master builds, use Vamp / Zealous (15^50)*Weapon* of Fortitude. Sundering if using a scythe. (Scythe sundercrits are sexy, and you're critting most of the time)

I agree 15^50 is useless on daggers for pve, more so than for any other weapon, though I actually think it's useless on all martial weapons...
+5e for all.

15^50 on Daggers alone is useless, but I think if you customize your weapon (+20%) it adds up.
Don't quote me on that though.

Oh, by the way... 15^50 is the best mod for all martial weapons. Free extra damage is for the win. Especially when zealous clears energy problems, and +5E is only good for sin spikes that require that energy, and Death Penalty.

It's that I never need the energy in PvE but otherwise I would have been with Moloch on this one. 15% base dagger damage is shite any way you put it.
If I were to need the energy, I'd much rather swap my 15^50 to +5e than sac 25HP just so I can haz Radiant.

+15% alone is like 1-2 extra damage a strike, it isn't really worth it alone in my opinion.
