Sorry, but clicking gives you more flexibility and unpredictability. That itself outweighs the "benefits" of using WASD (the only time I'd consider using this is crossing bridges; sometimes it gets annoying walking and accidently clicking the bridge).

you didnt gimp yourself that much, the build can still kill stuff. but im sure you're aware there are more powerful builds that allow you to kill more continuously and make less of a snoozefest video.

not to mention, if i press w i'll just activate shadow walk.
my keyboard layout doesn't even have movement keys. why bother with WASD when mouseclicking is far more effective?

Finally some decent footage on (what's left of) instagibbage.
Cytherea plz re-roll a Derv.
I use WASD for large tracts of ground because I'm lazy
can't do that when engaged since 12345678 Space and Tab takes up all of my left manual dexterity

Cytherea's comments make one wish for the implementation of IQ tests on forums. The High-Res is excellent, thanks for it. I realize now that Shove has really good damage and knockdowns but the 20 second recharge means you really have to think before you unload it.

he lied, the build is not that bad. but the cooldown of shove and the conditional of horns force you to run around a lot, which is boring.

i probably saw only 2 "instagibs" (from full health, and im being lenient cuz they die awhile later from degen) out of all the attempts. the rest were either failures or followups on already damaged targets.
...
btw those opponents are just as bad or even worse than those i encounter in ra. and it is surprisingly lucky how you encountered virtually 0 antimelee the whole match.
the guy below me also makes an unbiased assessment, good job.

meh
decent playin
but...
bad build
bad map
bad opponents
you've never had to overcome any specific problems
(ab tactics wise or 1v1/4v4 fighting wise)
u simply breezed through the match
so its more of a show-off vid than a how-to vid
yesh, u kno how to kite and stay out of danger
ab specific, can u redirect mobs and slow down enemy cap rates?
teasing ppl, and breaking apart 4man teams
i saw very little, if none at all, of that
(but that was prolly cuz u were facing nubs on deep lux that it was not required)
btw
mouse-clicking is more effective in gw in terms of movement
im a wsad'r jus cuz i hate mouse-clicking
(reason i wont play diablo)
but i havent ran into any probs where its given me any probs
it also frees up the mouse for targetting, inventory shield swapping, map drawing, etc
i think u have to balance or choose between mouse movement or mouse targetting
edit: btw, i saw no instagibs
a true "instagib" requires an ias

I imagine Cytherea as the person who plays a Pyro in TF2 by holding down w + mouse1 then going and bragging about how pro he is.

Ya haven't you heard? Instagib is dead. The ones he did get at full health were probably using sup runes or lrn2maxarmor

Have to agree with this post. I use mouse-clicking in combat and kiting, otherwise I use mostly WASD. Even though mouse-clicking is more effective, I don't see a reason to use it that excessively, especially outide combat. Call me a bad player, but the points what snaek said considering the advantages or WASD movement are valid.
Last note "to use positioning, terrain and other tactical elements to help me score kills." I watched the whole video to see any of these, and I didn't see the amount I thought I would. In a nuthsell, nothing to see.

instagib is only dead in popularity
u still can instagib in this game
and i kno an ias would ruin kd lock
thats the reason u didnt see any instagibs in this vid
shove isnt an instagib build

altho generally u want to stay in a safe range on spike cooldown and before spikes, etc
in this scenario he was playin against nubs on a nub map
u could even go as far as to argue whether he would actually be more effective by putting out more dps by auto-attacking in this scenario
as i really dun think he would have died if he did infact do this
(as u can see near the middle/end of the vid, he does start to auto-attack)
of course, that goes against the "typical" sin play-style
but u always have to judge the situation no matter wut and adapt to wutever is necessary despite wut ur class/build implies u to be doin

i admit, this isn't the best example i have. unfortunately, the better video i made got corrupted, which is too bad because it was on a fairer match with significantly less teammate support, so it really did force me to pull tricks.
as soon as i sort out the compatibility problem between vista and fraps, i'll post a few more videos, hopefully on fairer maps and more tactical elements.
btw, what do you guys mean by "excessive mouse clicking"? i didn't exactly pull a chiizu here (he will quite literally continuously click, even if he's running in a straight line). any instance where i just need to travel long distances i clicked once off in the distance. it's only where i need to make quick/smooth turns i clicked rapidly.

if you are wondering if i can do everything he asked for in that post, the answer is yes. i can even do mouse targetting and mouse movement at the same time. if i wanted to, i can maintain a high enough APM so i can do all that at the same time.
the reason why i chose mouse movement? well, you try doing some of those hairpin turns with wasd. it's possible, but a lot more difficult.

only reason i would mouse click, is if i get tired of holding my hand up to the keyboard. other than that i dont have problems with w,a,s, and d. used it in every game ive ever played on pc.

then you'll just have to live with less efficient movement.
btw, i've fixed fraps, so i will be able to record another vid. hopefully i'll get some better results this time.
