Shattering Assault
I've had problems making a good build with the Elite skill Shattering Assault...
If someone could help give me some good ideas or even show me a SA build that works great, that'd be appreciated. So far i have this build which i got from a friend.
Assassin - Shattering Assault - A/Any
Dagger Mastery = 12 + 1 + 2
Critical Strikes = 8 + 1
Shadow Arts = 8
Deadly Arts = 7
Skills: Black Lotus Strike, Shattering Assault, Black Spider Strike, Blades of Steel, Impale,Shadowy Burden, Feigned Neutrality, Rez(optional).
Edit: For PvE

Hmm, first thing, are you using it for PvP or PvE?
the typical Shattering Assault chain starts with [Golden Fox Strike] [Wild Strike] [Shattering Assault] for an unblockable sequence that removes stances and enchants.
DW options include [Impale] or [Golden Fang Strike] since your first 2 attacks recharge fairly quickly. For PvE [Finish Him] is a great DW applicator.
As for enchants, [Assassin's Remedy] is great for keeping blind off you. For PvE you have [Critical Agility] also.

[shattering assault] is used for pressure
not for spike...[blades of steel] is far superior as a spike dual attack
that said, u want low recharge attack skills to match shattering assaults low recharge
recommendations r:
[golden fox strike][wild strike][shattering assault]
rest of the bar wit ias/ims, utility, enchant for gfs, etc, etc
edit: dam im a slow poster .___.

sweet thanks. I didn't know there was a specific chain for SA since it's my first time using it really....And yea the build i have atm was a PvP build, was just throwing something out there to be reformed into a PvE. Obviously i need a whole Skill Bar Makeover.

[[Shattering Assault] isn't really that strong in PvE since ench removal is rarely an issue. It's a little sad but there isn't much to do for an Assassin in PvE except for CritScythe or [[Moebius Strike] + [[Death Blossom].

Since PvE is so easy, you can pretty much play whatever build you want and get away with it. Your H/H's aren't going to complain. But when you play with others, that's when you play what's most efficient.

Correct me if I'm wrong (I can't think of anything that recharges quicker than Shattering Assault quicker off the top of my head), but Assassins have the quickest recharging enchantment removal in the game right? With the rest of the attack skills recharging just as quickly allowing quick target switching, this makes Assassins probably the best enchantment strippers in PvE.
Sure, there's alot of areas where enchantment removal may not really be nessacary, but in my opinion it comes in handy more than people seem to realise.

Fastest recharge for a single enchantment removal, yes.
However, there are:
[Chilblains][order of apostasy][well of the profane][hex eater vortex][air of disenchantment][disenchantment][grenth's aura][rending aura][test of faith]
(and a few more)
I'd say that especially the AoE ones should be superior in PvE.
That being said, I can't really think of any area where heavy enchantment removal is actually needed ...

Shattering Assault removes two enchantments because it's a double strike from a dual attack (again correct me if I'm wrong). Also I find it pretty useful to take when fighting Raptors, Smites, etc, especially on HM. It's also one of the few enchantment removal skills that can fairly quickly remove enchantments like Spellbreaker and Obsidian Flesh that cannot be removed by spells, not forgetting it does damage after the enchantment is removed meaning it's good for getting rid of Protective Spirit and Reversal of Fortune etc.
Also it saves other classes from using their elite slots, or from using high cost spells, or relying on corpses, allowing them to take something else that can be beneficial while allowing an Assassin to actually be useful to the party instead.
I'll agree with you on AoE enchantment removal, though realistically it depends more on what you are up against and what classes are being run in the party.
To the OP I suggest the following build, if you can use it, if you wish to use Shattering Assault in PvE:
[Critical Agility][Asuran Scan][Golden Fox Strike][Wild Strike][Shattering Assault][Critical Eye][Finish Him][Resurrection Signet]
You can drop [Wild Strike] in areas where stance blocking isn't a problem and use [Golden Fang Strike] instead. If you do that I suggest taking [Brawling Headbutt] or [You Move Like a Dwarf] instead of [Finish Him]. You could take condition removal in the form of [Assassins Remedy] but if you have a co-ordinated team you should have competent Monks who will remove any form of blind from you fairly quickly anyway. Lastly I'll also mention [Save Yourselves] if you're using Heroes and Henchmen.

First off ------>[Shattering Assault] FTW!
secondly i have to refute that claim of SA being useless in PvE because i have recently discovered a spike build that uses it quiet well
oh and lets not forget that [Assault Enchantments] Is pretty badass as well.

the problem with [assault enchantments] is the requirement to follow a dual attack. This can be problematic if one part of your chain fails to hit.
[Shattering Assault] is very underrated in PvE because everybody ends up comparing it to Moebius Blossom. We all know Moebius Blossom pumps out the most dps, but like everything else, it get boring too.
I personally find SA just as enjoyable as MS/DB, maybe more. Knowing that no enchant or stance can stop you can be very satisfying like lots of yellow numbers popping up on your screen.

???? wait a sec... if you use --->[Assault Enchantments] with unblockable chain combo, or use something like unseen fury or some tiype of anti-block, it would be worth it.
[Shattering Assault] is Awsome. I've been using it for PvE alot. It's nice to see your enemies enchantless just like it is to see those numbers fly up when you use mobieus/DB.
