For a Scythe sin in HM, I've always had good success building my heroes around my sin instead of using sabway or discord way.
This means bringing a curse necro with Weaken Armor, Rigor Mortis/Defile Defenses, Reckhaste+spiteful/that other mass slow if not using Spiteful, enfeebling blood. Elite can be changed to LC for areas with a lot of healers.
An RoJ smiter hero with Strength of Honor, Judge's Insight, Smite Cond, Smite Hex, etc.
Another N/Rt or Rt/N (if you only have 1 N hero) with Splinter + Warmonger's (+ Nightmare Weapon if you want for armor ignoring damage), Ancestor's Rage and some restoration spells and 1 spirit can be recovery or life. If using Rt/N make sure you bring good energy management on this hero as they can run dry pretty fast.
Sundering & Zealous Scythe of enchanting.
Reaper's Sweep (I like the enchant removal), Mystic Sweep + 1 more Attack (no more than 3, it can be Malicious to keep up crit defence if you're bringing it, or another utility attack like crippling), Crit Agility, Way of the Master, Crit Eye, Aura of Holy Might, Assassin's Remedy for cond (usually blind heavy) areas, or whatever other utility skills you might want. Asuran Scan is good for bosses, but usually things die too fast for it to be even worth 5e.
2 monk hench, + 2 more. In EotN usually Zho and the Mes hench.
Goes without saying this will destroy undead heavy areas with all that holy damage on hard hitting scythes.
You can change the monk hero's elite for hex heavy areas. Or bring Recovery for condition heavy areas or both.
Of course you can also run a DB/Mobius build instead, it will still get a lot out Strength of Honor due to double attacks and dual attack skills. With Vamp/Zealous daggers of course.
An alternative to the SoH monk is to bring a command paragon hero with Anthem of Envy, GftE (more crit in HM doesn't hurt), Anthem of Flame, They're on Fire (for some added dmg reduction), Aggressive Refrain + whatever elite you want, Expel Hexes for hex heavy areas for example. And add orders to the Curse necro and leave out Aura of Holy Might (if using a scythe sin). You can also add barbs and MoP since you will be doing all physical damage, and bring a war hench instead of a caster hench to squeeze more out of orders.
