I'm in a guild but no one is on when I play (Live in Hawaii), so was wondering if anyone done the chain quest with all henchmen?
After doing research, I know I have another city capital I have to visit and yet another Skill Trainer. So right now this is working for me. Any tip or skill I should get from skill trainer to improve my skill bar would be helpful. But thanks for all the tip from everyone who posted on this thread to help a new player get better.

Your first goal should be to do this quest http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Captu...he_Orrian_Tome which gives you signet of capture and then capture [Palm Strike]
Then, definitelly buy [Wild Strike] and replace Fox Fangs with it.

Is factions the only campaign you have at the time? I am not sure if you have yet to mention it. I know what you mean though when you say you can't find a lot of players to party with. Your best bet to finding parties though would be to stay in America English district 1. That is usually where most people tend to be. If your guild is inactive at the time you play you might want to look for another guild. I am not trying to say just up and ditch your guild but it is usually best to be in a guild where a lot of the players are on around the same time you are. It will help you connect with them and make friends. Also if they are on a lot of the times that you are. It will also make them available for them to assist you because everyone needs help at times. I have played for a very long time and I know there are times when my heros and henchmen alone wont cut it. It is a great thing though that you are coming to guru for assistance there are a lot of experienced players who frequent this forum and their input is very valuable when it comes to helping yourself become a better player.

This build war previously posted and I will say I do agree with it being a fairly good build. But I would replace [critical defenses] with [way of perfection]. It will help you keep your health up and it costs less time/ energy to cast. I know this might cause some trouble because a lot of people love [critical defenses]. But I find I don't use it a lot in pve. As for the 2 other skills not included in the skill bar I would suggest [critical agility] if you have nightfall and the last one I would suggest a [resurrection signet] it is an invaluable skill and should be included in ever skill bar. Unless you have a hard resurrection skill such as [rebirth], [resurrect], or [resurrection chant]. When I say "hard resurrection" I mean a resurrection that can be constantly used if you ever use [resurrection signet] it can only be used once (unless you kill a boss or complete an objective in some missions.) So I would suggest a hard res but your secondary class would have to be monk if you wanted one. If you don't have [critical agility] I would suggest [heart of shadow] for additional healing or [sharpen daggers] for additional damage.

Thanks for more tips. I only have GW Prophecies and Faction, so yes I'm limit to all the other cool skills that Assassin's get from 2 other expansion. I'm currently trying to do "Closer to the Stars" quest w/ henchmen only and so far 2 wipes, but was able to reach the last boss. I did get a new elite skill [shadow form] but after reading more post, I feel I might have a skill not used in PvE build.
I hear it was nerfed but wondering if people use this skill on pve w/henchmen quest? Also, I'm using the "lead, offhand, dual strike formula but I notice some build go strait to the off hand? Is this viable, coming from a new player that still trying to understand the game.
As for changing guild, I have joined about 3 different guilds most log off just when I log in. All with great players who help me with directions. But, time is a problem so I'm stuck with 90% henchmen run. I must say, I have gotten very good in pulling small mobs which helps me a lot.
Overall, this game is amazing and having loads of fun playing my A/E even though I don't really use the E side of my build. Maybe I try the "Perma build" with the [Shadow Form]

Don't worry about it. Most of the skills are relative to Factions, although some are a bit more powerful. It would be good to get Nightfall as you're missing out on some pretty useful skills. (;

[[Shadow Form] is an excellent skill. It can be maintainable in PvE through 16 points in Shadow Arts + [[Glyph of Swiftness] + [[Deadly Paradox] + 20% enchantment lengthening mod. Although it is not useful in all occasions, it makes an excellent running/farming skill.

Yes, this is possible. Some chain links such as [[Golden Phoenix Strike] do not require a lead attack. However, some are conditional such as [[Black Spider Strike] which require you to meet the conditions (such as hexed, knocked down, enchanted, etc).

Don't get discouraged. If you join an active guild, a lot of people will be willing to help you. And if you're in an urgent need of company, pick up a group. However, this could be disadvantageous as people might leech, not cooperate, and the like.

Good to hear you're enjoying it. Also, don't worry if you're not using your secondary profession. More often than not, many tend to stick solely to their primary profession. You can change your secondary profession after you become Weh no Su (finish Nahpui Quarter mission) for a small fee of 500. Once unlocked, you can switch between them in any town or outpost.

Good man. Always try new builds and have fun with them. Modify them to your preference. Have fun. (;

Ever since then I have played my sin with much. <3 Keep playing, keep enjoying, and if you keep trying to make your self a better player one day it might be one of us asking you for help.

pretty sure you cannot keep shadowform up permanently without deadly paradox, which the OP does not have access to.

pretty sure glyph of swiftness is EotN, which the OP does not have. not to mention, going that route will be seriously expensive.

What's getting to me is [repeating strike] and why people are recommending it. [death blossom] has much more potential than a spam bot.

What he said. [repeating strike] just does nothing special enough to warrant skill slot. Especially when [death blossom] can be indefinitely chained with [Moebius Strike].

Yes, it is definitely viable. Most often, it is used to create longer or more powerful chains (for example offhand->dual->offhand->dual), but it is more of a PvP thing.

Don't forget, most offhands that don't require a lead attack do have some sort of drawback to balance them out.
[Golden Phoenix Strike] misses unless you are enchanted (which you probably will be enchanted as a Sin)
[Palm Strike] is an Elite skill (and a Touch skill, means it can't be blocked/not affected by Blind/miss hexes)
[Black Spider Strike] must target a hexed foe (Sins have a few, but in PvE or PvP there should be no shortage of hexes being applied wherever)
Oh, wait... I just said they had drawbacks to balance them out...? I meant to say, they SHOULD be balanced with drawbacks... (j/k, Izzy just fails @ balance, it's not the skills' or the profession's fault...)
Just a few examples. Hopefully it helps you understand a bit better!

Thanks for clearing it up for me guys. Those skill's are 3 that I have been interested for a while and plan to add them to some of my build skills. I will get Nightfall as soon as I get through with my adventures in Faction. I have added [Dark Escape] to help with my pulling of mobs. Although my Warrior Henchmen must be in a union since it wants to rush in before I could get the mob in a safe distance away from it's friends.

We are saying to use [repeating strike] because he is not yet far enough to get [moebius strike] or he might not have it unlocked so a book wouldn't do him well either. That is why we are pushing it. Otherwise yes you are correct they are better it is well known. But unless he actually has those [repeating strike] will be his best bet.

Repeating strike is obsolete even without moebius. If chain recharges in 4 seconds, well ... why spam repeating strike, if you can simply repeat chain?

Let's not forget about [temple strike]. And yeah, you may as well forget about [shadow form] if you don't have [deadly paradox].

nobody cares about levelling in gw because it is fast, going through a campaign is fast, getting skills is fast so dont listen to all the bollox these people try to confuse you with and just get the following builds:
[build prof=a/w box dagger=12+1+1 crit=12+1][critical agility][critical eye][asuran scan][golden fox strike][wild strike][moebius strike][death blossom][save yourselves!][/build]
[build prof=a/d box crit=12+1+1 scythe=12][wounding strike][mystic sweep][eremite's attack][malicious strike][asuran scan][aura of holy might][way of the master][critical agility][/build]
you can get all info from where to get all the pve skills on guild wars wiki, just google gww to find it, it should be second on the list.
have a nice day.

[temple strike] has its uses even in PvE. How do you like:
[jagged strike][temple strike][vampiric assault][impale][signet of deadly corruption]
That's several hundred points of damage in seconds.
