Yes.

From Kamadan you will land in Kaineng Center. Take the east exit into Bukdek Byway and head south to the Marketplace. Exit west from there into Kaineng Docks. Talk to First Mate Xiang, who will ferry you to Seitung Harbor. From there take the south-west exit to Saoshang Trail and follow it to Linnock Courtyard then into Shing Jea Monastery.

It should take you less than ten minutes from start to finish, even without running skills on your bar, and you should be able to do it without having to fight anything (although there will be some low level enemies on Saoshang Trail that you can run past if you have hex removal and/or self-heal).

For a non-Factions character, the only things to do on Shing Jea Island are the two starter island missions (Minister Cho's Estate and Zen Daijun) and any festival quests or events in the Monastery, although you can still accompany friends who've made Factions characters if you want. The game proper starts from Kaineng Center for non-Factions characters.
