There are no stupid questions, just stupid people. Scythes only drop in Nightfall or in EOTN. MOST of the time they are dropped by Dervish enemies. You can also buy one from a player, but without having access to Nightfall, you will not be able to really use one.

Kahmu could need one, even if you don't have Nightfall.
It's a weapon type, just like a sword or a hammer. Crafters and collectors in both Nightfall and Eye of the North can make them for you.

NF items also drop from Locked Chests in EoTN areas.

As has been mentioned, go around in eotn or nf, eotn has better scythes as normal drops (at least as I have noticed).

First suggestion, use daggers! Daggers will increase your attack speed, and
you can still use strength to increase armor penetration, allowing you to
increase the amount of damage without it being as conditional as a critical
hit.
The most useful thing for Warriors though is the Shadow Step ability. Use
this to instantly get in and grab aggro of all the enemies instead of having
them run towards you, which may cause them to latch onto a caster and run right
past you.
Is this true?

You really don't need to worry about warrior shadowsteps in PVE, in the worst cases you only need a longbow. PVP has some warrior shadowstep situations sometimes.
