Sorry buddy, getting aggro is part of your job. Sins can absorb just as much damage as wars. Putting aside CA-- which brings their armor up to comparable levels-- the fact is that ANY profession can absorb as much damage as a war as long as they're under PS. If you H/H, learn to micro PS on you before aggro. Doing this is a HUGE step in playing PvE at its highest level.
If you PUG, and someone ISN'T putting PS on you, then something is terribly, terribly wrong.

I didn't read all of the suggestions so this may have already been suggested. But try using Aura of Displacement http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Aura_of_Displacement use that then use your chain then if any thing goes wrong or you are about to die cancel it.
It works best with Zealous Dagger Tangs as the -1 energy regen can be rather slow.

I have been playing gws for quite awhile, I have seen many dif opinions on how too play an assassin or any other class for that matter.
First thing if you are H/H'ing in HM You need too know your foes and the area that you will be in. One of the best things to do is use the terrain to protect yourself from ranged attacks, skills such as Lightening Bult or Fireball. Mke sure you check your heroes skill bars before you enter an area. Alot of people go in and have the wrong skills loaded(/Facepalm).
When it comes too skills and builds I personally prefer a Critical Scytthe Assassin with the skill Aura Of Holy Might, this adds a considerable amount of damage. If you use a Crit Scythe Build you should bring Crit Agility aswell as your attack skills. Use Wounding Strike when in an area with Fleshy creatures, and Reapers Sweep when in an area that has Non Fleshy Creatures, Defensive Enchantments. Critical Eye is an very good skill aswell.
If you prefer too use daggers than one skill that I would recommend too you and anyone else is BRAWLING HEADBUT. When you are in HM Enemies have faster casting times, whatnot. However if you have Critical Agility, you can use Brawling Headbut and Interupt their main skills very easily.
As everyone else says Micro PS, And if you go with a dagger build then you SHOULD BRING SY! Best advice though (atleast I think so) is Know the area and your enemies in that area.
