Bloody barrage thing nerfed?
I just came back to guild wars after a long time of not playing. I googled assassin builds and found one that looked really cool, but didn't realize it was so old ;p
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/o...html?t=3000451
It says it worked for pvp, and i always liked barrage back when i played.
So i just got my assassin barrage and stuff, but the sharpen daggers skill doesn't seem to stack with barrage anymore.
Any other good builds for assassin/ranger out there that actually still work? It seems like every build is out of date.

Since August last year the description says dagger attacks, which used to read attack skills, and GuildWiki notes: "Before August 6, 2009, this skill affected non-dagger attacks as well."
There are plenty of A/x options, Jagged, Fox and Blossom, Crit Eye and Agility and Asuran Scan, Moebius etc ... PvX has some idea's worked out.

You can still use the build without [[Sharpen Daggers]:
[build prof=assas/range critic=12+1+1 marksm=12][Way of the Master][Critical Eye][Barrage][Distracting [email protected]][Savage Shot][Optional][Optional][Resurrection Signet][/build]
Keep in mind that this is for PvE and there are much better options.

I am using/tweaking a A/D Crit Scythe build. It puts out pretty decent damage with about a 55% chance to crit. I'd suggest giving that a try.

God forbid you use, gasp, DAGGERS?!?!?!!?!?!?
The normal moebius deathblossom spam is easily enough dmg for NM and HM.

A lot of the Assassin builds used nowadays uses Critical Strikes. Something works for both PvE and PvP is to spam [[Jagged Strike], [[Fox Fangs], and [[Death Blossom]. The rest would be utility.
However, [[Death Blossom (PvP)] in PvP has a longer recharge so more Dual Attacks are usually brought such as [[Exhausting Assault] and [[Critical Strike].

Well I originally wanted to play a ranger, but someone else i'm playing with is playing a ranger, so I went assassin to change things up a bit ;p And that A/R bow build just made it sound more fun anyway
But i'll go back to daggers. I'll try some of these dagger builds thanks doods.

The Elite doesn't have to be SW though. While its true that MS/DB would result in a little more damage than Jagged/Fox/DB, the latter allows for freedom of Elite choice and can also use [["Save Yourselves!"].

I just turned in my book of secrets on my dervish for the final daggers. I didn't even know what that thing did until i read about good zealous daggers lol.
I don't really have many assassin elites. so i'll have to build around that for now.
And I don't have mobius strike or seeping wound yet. They are later in the factions campaign.
No asura scan either ;p I still haven't bought eye of the north.
On a side note, what kind of progression do you get out of eye? If there are no levels, and gear is max damage in half of factions/nightfall, is it just storyline stuff? I think that's one of the reasons we stopped playing after we finished nightfall instead of continuing on to eye of the north. My dervish was pretty much maxed out.

No more levels, no higher damage weapons, some good skills though, dungeons, slightly more challenging mobs.
It's full of Charr, brings back memories of the Ascalon days in Prophecies, EotN is where I go to hunt Charr for sport.

ms/db damage is actually significantly higher, when you don't need the first two parts of the chain, you can spam DB harder, which is why ms is just amazing.

Not entirely true, its much closer with fagged>fox been compressed attack speeds now.

Slightly off-topic-
I think in conjunction with a MoP nuker (With AP) Jagged-FF-DB>Hundred Blades.
-On topic; When using buffs/hexes that activate per attack, Jagged-FF-DB will do more single-target damage. And if Mark of Pain is present- more AoE damage too.

My comp died for a few days, just got it up and running sorry for the lack of response.
I'm running with.
Jagged strike
Fox fangs
Death blossom
Critical Eye
Critical agility
Shadow refuge
Way of perfection
I am only 1 mission in with factions and up to the first barrage boss in nightfall so I don't have access to anything else yet.
I also picked up these-> http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Ungues_of_the_Forgotten
They seem to work well enough with this build.
I am going to buy Eye of the North tomorrow morning when everyone isn't on for some factions playing, so I will pick up Asura Scan. Looks like moebius strike us much later in the factions campaign.
And I am not sure what you wanted me to edit above..

Instead of posting four times within five minutes, you can just edit your most recent post to say what you want to say. If somebody posts after you do, it's ok to post again to reply to their post.
