Default want to tackle hom(which class)

As it stands i think i have a pretty good chance of tackling the hom, i have a monk thats been around since the original game, so i have lots of minis (which i understand is part of hom).

I have a 20 necro and a 20 warrior but im wanting to start from scratch and im stuck on rit ele or possibly mesmer.

The one reason i want to go rit is for spirit spam, but im thinking if i go e/rt then i can spirit spam when i need to, it just wont be as powerful. Not only that from what i understand ele are pretty good soloers as tera tanks and whatnot. Also apparently mesmers are good because chaos dmg ignores armor.

Im basically wondering which would be reccomended to tackle hom asap.

This gets asked almost weekly.

Short answer. It doesn't matter.

Long answer. Mesmers arguably have the easiest time of it because they are best equipped to heavily abuse pve skills. Assassins have one of, if not the best, physical damage outputs for general purpose stuff. Really though the differences are very minor.

a: there are many threats indeed bout what character is best. The asnwer is none so pick what you like.

b: You don't need to do the HoM-points for GW2 on the same character. it is account wide. so you can use different characters.

If you're doing HoM stuff...you better be making the most fun of it as you can.

I feel like thats a pile of farce, i just read a thread a few pages back saying to go rit spirit spammer, which is basically what my thread was asking.

I started a mes in nightfall, hopefully i dont end up screwed trying to get things done.

Im not doing hom to have fun. Im doing it to get ready for gw2. Gaming is really dry right now and there is practically nothing out there for me. So while i appreciate your advice, id appreciate it if we stuck to my actual question...

Each to their own is the only answer as we don't know your play style.

Some one could say go ritu some could say go ele, to achieve 30/50 for the Hom all you need is a decent set of heroes since they do 90% of the work nowadays.
Any profession can go any/ritu to spam spirits. There is many many guides on how to get 30 points in ex-amount of time. These types of threads keep getting closed due to the fact you don't say i like to fight a mob like this{insert answer}and I like to let my heroes do this while i Leroy about.

The end answer is this have fun don't rush as GW2 is a long long way off pick a class you find interesting.

Play style doesnt matter(i didnt ask what class i would enjoy, i asked which is best suited), from what i understand most of hom is farming money and completing the campaigns. Im guessing there is a proff that does this quicker and easier than others.

I dont see any reason to close this thread, i asked a pretty legit question (which no one really answered btw) about e/rt.

Whether or not you like it but yes we have answered your question in a fashionable simple answer there is no uber fast way to go bang bang i have 30/50. As ive pointed out any class/profession can run spirit spam build if you bothered checking the link i have posted it explains how to get your hom points. No class is better as heroes do 90% of the work the 10% is you farming/moving heros/pressing enter button/running a2b.

For the lazy play aka you go ritu spirit spammer as there mind numbingly stupid and easy to grasp and take no concentration in to what your doing; aka the quick and dirty hom points ta-da i've help ya to make a decision!

and not sure if you mean suited to get 30/50 points if so ALL OF THEM CAN DUH!!!!!!!

by the; the most profitable way to get cash whist doing the hom is completing the campaigns it can yield well over 100k+ since titles is whats needed guardian and the other makes sense and maybe r4 kurz/lux get books also.

oh btw you have posted this thread in the wrong section this thing is more of a Q&A thing

Your having a hard time getting the answer you want because well, all classes do it fine. If your question was more specific it would help.

You want to farm money: Assassin seems to be the way to go but I'm no farmer.
You want to find your spot in an end-game build: Monk and DoA
You want to quickly get though the missions/Vanq: Anything your heros are awesome so go SoS

I'm pushing though with my Rit even though I'm a bit sick of her, I'm not starting again now though!

The main reason im asking about the rit secondary ss thing is because i saw a thread where people were saying e/rt was a horrible idea, which was my original plan.

I also asked what would be best for farming hom, not money, not end game, not missions/vanq. Im just going to talk to my guild/friend about it. Its seems like were not able to understand each other.

Between rit, ele, or mes...choose rit...because their breasts are bigger.

Proof below...

In the picture, rit is on the left and mes on the right. Ele breast size is not shown but they're pretty much in the middle in size comparison.
(Pictures were taken from this awesome forum thread on ritualist breast size http://guildwars.incgamers.com/forum...list-too-busty)

And yes, I'm serious with that answer. I mean hey, if you're a guy, why not stare at the bigger ones. Well, unless you prefer the smaller ones of course. But hey! I won't judge you on your preferences. If you are female (or guy) and do not care about staring at breasts...click on the link below.

http://www.gwpvx.com/Build:Any/Rt_Spirit_Farmer

Now, decide if you are the OCD type who MUST have the juicy 4-8 extra damage for the spirits that you will be pooping out which comes from being a primary ritualist. If so my friend, choose rit. If not, flip a coin for either ele or mes. Heads for ele and tails for mes.

Now the above assumes that you will be doing nothing but pooping out spirits for the entire duration of your "hom farming". In your first post however, you hinted that you might want to do something non-spirit pooping. If that's the case and you have chosen rit, throw the rit out the window because they are shit for everything that isn't spirit pooping. But that's just my opinion. So that leaves ele or mes. With the update to HM with armor being reduced on enemies and health increasing, the armor ignoring damage of mes doesn't matter as much. Both ele and mes can use that AP caller shit on the pvxwiki, both can do simliar aoe damage, both can solo farm, and blah blah blah. Mesmer damage is more conditional though and require somewhat of a brain and/or reflexes to use. Ele damage is basically BAM! BAM! BOOM! DIE MOTHERRED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOER! So if you are into brainless button mashing choose ele. Otherwise choose mes.

I'm now wondering what you want for your HoM if you dont need money, end game statues or to do missions/vanq.

People have been trying to help you and you have been rather rude to them.

I agree with Starlet, HOM = money, and LOTS of it. Missions/Vanq are part of getting your HOM. What is it you think your going to be farming?
For HOM, farming = money, missions in both easy and hard mode with all bonuses, vanquish all areas in all campaigns and with the time left before GW2 comes out, you will need LOTS of money to purchase sweets/drunk points if you want those titles in your HOM as it's a little late in the game to try and farm for those as you have to wait for special events. You are also going to need a great deal of money for elite armor to fill your HOM. If you want a tormented weapon, you either need more money, or you need to be able to do the end game content.
For builds, I went through the game with e/rt with no problems. 50/50 HOM amd GWAMM both, so it's perfectly viable, as are pretty much any build you want to use. You DO need to use something you wuill have fun with because doing the repetitve tasks required can be mind numbingly boring, and if your not having atleast a minimum of fun, it's unlikely you will be able to keep up with it.

Everyone here gave you more answers then you could possibly need, but it seems you have no idea what is involved in filling your HOM up, so I would suggest you read the wiki and links provided first before you do anything.

Spirit spam is slow and boring. But on the other hand why should we/I help you because to be honest you're acting like an ass..

Hall of Monuments requires a little bit of everything, and a whole lot of cash. If we know how much you've completed for it, say by posting your in-game name, we can look at your monument and offer some advice on what you need.

Otherwise, we will offer you the basic advice we can:

A large number of statues for the "Honor" monument require running vanquishes, missions, or end-game areas. That has certain classes that are best tuned.

A large number of statues for the "Honor" monument require farming reputation points for various titles. That has certain classes that are best tuned.

The rest of the Hall largely falls under the "cash sink" category: Miniatures, elite armors, weapons, and hero armors will consume massive amounts of gold and ectos. Again, certain classes are best tuned for farming said gold.

But without knowing what you're doing, we cannot tell you more, because there is not "the best class".

---

To simplify, I would recommend this guide: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/g...t10509754.html

If you want to run Ele or Mez, take one in the Prophecies campaign and grind him to 20 for LDoA before setting out to complete the rest of what you need. If you don't want to do that, make a Pre-Searing character anyway and grind him to 20 on your off-time for the monument and Gifts of the Huntsman for the consumable titles.

This is a pretty good answer, thanks.

As for the rest of you kids, the reason im "rude" is because youre spamming my thread with shit like "do what makes you feel happy". I dont need a shrink so unless you have something useful to say dont bother.

Okay, read both those quotes, both from this thread, and tell me... what are you really asking? Because you were sending mixed messages; it's understandable if some people read the wrong one.

From what I can, tell you wanted only to ask this question: "Is Mesmer or Ele/Rit better for farming HoM?" But you didn't ask that clearly. It came off as "Which proff is best for farming HoM?" That's why the answers have been a mixture of platitudes and general build ideas.

Kudos to E N I G M A for catching on to the confusion first.
