I PMed him yesterday to make sure he's aware of the closure. No idea why he stopped updating.

^Yeah that thread should cover everything you want to know.
In a nutshell:
-Guru will remain accessible at the current location, you just won't be able to log in, post, etc.
-Whether you want to continue the thread at Guru2 or GWL is up to you. Pros and cons of each are in that thread. You can always make a thread in each if you feel inclined. Personally I'd favour whichever place gets more traffic, but it's up to you. I check both.
Glad to hear your project didn't get abandoned.

I would also prefer to post wherever gets the most traffic- from what I can tell so far that's GWL. That being said, I feel as if there might be enough unique traffic in both forums to warrant double posting, but I'll probably try at GWL first and see how it goes. If I do end up reviving the thread there, would you recommend I just post the link to this archived thread for people's reading before continuing?

There's no reason not to. Mostly it's background info and somewhat redundant (not much to be gained from people reading about you struggling with things that you've now figured out, like capping Defy Pain) but it'll help people appreciate what the key challenges are and why.
