When i first started guild wars 2 years ago the first thing i noticed were the mini pets. All i wanted was to have some little piece of nothing follow me around so thats what i set out to do. After about 3 days i was in post and i was looking to find a guild, and i noticed someone advertising. After i joined i won a raffle contest for a fungal wallow (1337 i know lol). After that i set out buying and selling like crazy. I became a top rate haggler and was able to buy water djinns and lich lords for 30k each (this was back when they were going for about 80-100k) and sell for 100k+xx. I finally hit it and decided to get a sin.

I learned sf and then i knew what i wanted. the amazing bds. I traded long enough to raise the 55e that it took to get a r13 water (i had blown all of my money on zkeys and armor) and then i was set. Of course once i had that i wasnt content so i decided i needed a bds that's attribute was actually useful so i traded more and more to get a r11 illusion (i was a chamber so this was the highest req i could get). Due to my mini pet nature i bought and sold kuunavangs for 60-65e and sold for 70e (once bought one on noob island in factions for 5k the sellers advertised price!!). When i finally had enough i bought an r11 illusion for around 75e and then i thought i was set. I made about another 50e in other trading of kuunavangs and a few bds' and then i lost everything.

I was in spamadan one day when someone was advertising they needed someone with a bds so they could take screens for their guilds website. I being the nice guy volunteered (of course i wanted to show off i had a bds lol). After a few minutes he says he wants to take one of it on the ground making it look like it was drop. Naturally this made me uncomfortable so i said no but after about 5 minutes of convincing the deal was he stood far away and i would drop for a few seconds and then pick up. After a few times of me dropping and then quickly picking back up he said he needed more time so i dropped and waited about 5 seconds. Before i knew it he had used the sin skill Recall (allows you to shadow step to target ally) and picked up my bds. As this was happening i was frantically clicking to pick it up but somehow the game allowed him to pick it up first. When this happened obviously i freaked out and did not play for over 2 weeks. The only reason i got back on after that break was because i had promised myself i would get my older brother a kuunavang bc he had gotten me the factions collectors edition for my birthday and i did not want to break that self made quest.

I only had about 30e in storage so i began selling everything. Weapons on heroes, weapons on all of my characters, dyes, dedicated mini pets, pretty much everything except the kuunavang which came with the game my brother had gotten me. After an intense day of selling i had made 75e (the going rate of kuunas at the time was 65e). Obviously i went to spamadan and advertised to buy but no one responded for over an hour (keep in mind this is all happening on my brothers birthday so i need to buy one quick) so i advertise to buy for 75e. I specifically remember someone messaging me saying that i must really want one bc thats 50k above what they normally sell for. Finally i decided to go to the europe districts and i find a seller. He says 75e is not enough (which is absolutely ridiculous) so he made me add in some other crap materials like iron and wood (god knows why). After i got my brother the kuunavang i called him and told him to log on (he was still away at college) and to meet me in our gh. I was absolutely thrilled and excited but when i traded him he was not. he had always talked about how much he wanted one but he was not showing it. After we get off the phone i look at the damage in xunlai and what had been at one time over 600k was now reduced to a dedicated kuunavang (which i would never consider selling) 5 sets of armor which are nice but worthless to anyone but me, my tormented curses 40/40 set dedicated so also worthless, and about 3k. Once i saw this and realized everything that had happened i didnt play gw for over 9 months (this occurred in july '09). I recently got back into playing but i must say the game has lost the enjoyment it once had but i still play nonetheless. Thats the crazy trading story i have.

Rofl! Stumbled upon this priceless gem of a trade from back in 2005 when prices were ridiculous; I bought a q10 15%ench Fellblade for 320k (this was the b/o although my last listed bid was 220k ) Mind you, the 3/1 Vamp mod alone cost 75k at the time...
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/f...-3-t64627.html
Sold it 3years later for 14k...

1. Began in presearing back before LDoA when people actually played in pre because they enjoyed it, not for titles or anything
2. I paid 100k in pre for a dye powertrading guide my friend used, yes a noobish buy, but at the time I had no idea how to powertrade and this is where it all began.
3. I powertraded for a rather long time coming up with around 500-600k in presearing.
4. I spoke with a good friend who dealt in the black market of presearing, yes there really was one, and he recommended that I trade it for post cash. Now this was very unusual and Id say him and I were one of the only ones to offer large amounts of pre cash at this time for post cash. I TRADED 500k FOR OVER 3000k at the ratio of 6.5-8k post cash for 1k pre cash. CRAZY I know (Too this day my best decision ever)
5. From then on I began powertrading anything and everything I could get my hands on, legendary skill hunter elite tome sets, any and all eotn/fow/uw blades, q8s, minis etc. Everything.
6. My most notable trade would definitely be buying a vizu for I beleive 2500e and reselling it the next day for about 6250e (The price at the time)
7. Been powertrading ever since until present.

I don't think I could fully detail my own ascension to full-fledged ultra-pro and eventual pioneer of gentlemanly leisure. What immediately comes to mind is my success in buying and re-selling pre-nerf Rockmolders immediately following the nerf. They could be gotten consistently for 500g and sold pretty easily in the 100-300k range. I did that for about a month and it made a huge difference in my in-game lifestyle.

I also remember trading a 20% axe enchanting grip for a req 8 +5e celestial sword when that bug allowed people to put 2 grips on their axes. Celestial stuff was hot at the time and I sold that thing for hundreds of ectos. There have been plenty of deals that made me more profit, but that one is special for the lulz involved.

I bought two pre-nerf rockmolders after it was aligned (think they were around 100k), then laughed and learned a lesson I've never forgotten after the stats on all the pre-nerfs got reverted. That lesson is, never buy something that has stats that aren't in line with everything else, by mistake (the moddable WiK greens, the old 40% enchant axes, etc)

No No No I like the part when it was back in the day and I really thought Ornate Bucklers were the best. I stood up on that hill in Ascalon AD1 by the storage chest - I think it's still there! - and asked for someone to sell me one.

In like 4 seconds this guy brought me on with these insane stats like -2(stance)/-3(10%) or something like that - I still have it somewhere!!

I gave him a couple of ks for it and it's way more awesome than that!

Man, that was the best, I swear.

Some I remember (AKA regrets):

Bought a Sunqua Blade req 7 15^50 in ascalon ID1 for either 75k or 100k. This was relatively soon after the release of Factions. Sold it to a collector friend of mine for 300k an hour later, who I believe still has it. Don't think I have seen another since.

Bought a Crude Shield req 7 tacts -2 stance/-2 ench in LA AD1 for around 150k. This was several years ago as well. Sold it for around 500k within a day or two. Definately have not seen another since, and I later would realize that the skin was my fave in all of GW (funny how that works out )

Bought req 8 15/-1 energy Dwarven Axe for around 100 ecto. Sold it for over 300 ecto soon after that. A long while later, bought it again when it came up for sale for significantly more than 300 e. Then I customized it ^

There are many more but those are a few I remember right off the top of my head atm. Spent a very large chunk of my GW time trading, was quite fun for a while

I remember one time I gave someone 37k and, in exchange, he gave a req 8 15^50 ascalon maul. Oh my god. It was awesome.
