'Financed' Survivor Options/Advice - (WoT)
Hey everyone, long time reader, first time poster.
For those of us with short attention spans, the question is basically:
- What is the best way to pay for a Max Survivor Title?
(If you are allergic to excessive details, then turn away now - The rest of the post just goes into more details on the question above. )
After many attempts, I have become extremely tired of attempting the Legendary Survivor Max Title. However, I would still like to achieve it, as I feel that I have more than earnt it at least three times over. Only once in 3 years has the character's first death 'been attributable to human error'. Crashes, Rubber Bands, Power Failures, the reasons are legion - as I'm sure it is so with many other GWers. For the record, I usually just repeat Fronis' Lair.
I WANT that title, or to at least know that I have tried every available option. The only sure fire way I can think of (XP Farming in Kourna) will take far longer than I can commit, so doing it myself is no longer viable. I can get to Tier 1 with my eyes shut (as I'm sure we all can), but getting past Tier 2 is beyond me. It truly is the second Lucky Title, indeed.
Which brings us to why I'm here:
I'm thinking I would like to hire someone to simply 'have my back', in case the game crashes, the power goes off, etc. OR maybe Pay for runs.
What are my best options?
HOW should I do it?- Team up and play normally?
- Leech (paid, of course)? Not sure it will even work...
- Pay for Campaign and/or Book Runs?
- Are 'Survivor Runs' even a realistic thing for me to consider?
- Should I try to use the same person every time?
- And just for fun: Does the community (if you're reading this, then that includes you!) think that paying for a Max Survivor title goes against the ethics of having it? Myself, I FEEL I've earnt it - I'm just curious what others think.
I would really appreciate any input that anyone may have,
Drazur

Kath hammers - easiest for ~200k (in several hours from char creation)
Kilroy - you get gold in the process and also goldies and grog (helps other titles)
Skill Capping - worth the effort, but if you die you lose 2 titles and money
Playing Solo - tricky parts in some missions, you can get killed very fast w/o having the time to jump to GH or exit GW
Group play - won't happen often (read that rarely or never), unless you have a guild and trusted members to help you out and do stuff for you so you won't risk it
Vanquishing - same as playing through campaigns but you get a decent amount of XP
Elite Areas / SCs - nice XP, it depends on what you're doing and with guildies/pugs/heroes, FoW is a relatively easy way to gain XP
Take your pick. And no, watching all the things people are doing (or did) in game, "buying" your survivor won't get you to the metaphorical hell.

Double XP weekend for Elite Caps is by far the easiest and cheapest. Do Cantha first.

the way I did it (took me more than a year and 2 survivors) was doing some of the missions I KNOW I couldnt die in (yes with a full h/h group and xp scrolls)...then I went and did some of the fed ex quests in factions....after that I did insect killing in kourna until I maxed sunspear nm (level 7? 8?) and used xp scrolls...and of course skill capping...
and then
killing the wurms outside of boreal station (took an mm with me and NEVER went down the hill--ok, did it with my first --she made it to 700k and the oakheart guys clocked her)....with xp scrolls, my charater was an ele so I had an mm with me for the extra killing power of minions----took quite a long time......
but as long as you dont go down the hill to the oak guys and use a ranged weapon the wurms dont fire back (and yes HM), so even if you dc you wont die.

60 vaettirs, 300xp each, 3x exp scroll
54,000 exp a run
assuming your already level 20 when you start you need
1,1969,00xp
It will take 23 full no death vaettir runs to do it.
Average time for a vaettir run is 5-6 mins so about 2 hours of farming.

I did it with my Mes just through normal play (mostly H/H'ing missions and skill capping on double weekends, with the occasional quest thrown in). I found that as long as I had a good defensive H/H setup and stayed away from areas that I know are dangerous, I was fine.
By defensive H/H, I mean 2 healer monks (one hero, one hench), and an ER Prot Ele hero. Very rarely was I ever even close to being in trouble.
Anyway, if you're determined to buy the title... like DigitalFear said, Kath hammers are probably the easiest.

This, particularly if you are interested in getting other titles for GWAMM. 10k experience per skill (plus extra for killing mobs and bounties along the way) adds up fast.

I am attempting Legendary Survivor Warrior myself currently at 300k XP, but this isn't the first time I am trying to get LS. This will be my 4th toon if I succeed.
I am pretty much playing all the missions and doing quests as they come. I got a run from Ascalon to Lion's Arch. Then I went over to Cantha, did those super easy 3k quests, hit level 20 then got a friend to do "Sunspear in Cantha" quest for me. Went over to Nightfall and got my heroes. I usually run with MM Necro I gave him Succor and Balt's Spirit, Prot Monk with Vital Blessing as well as that elite "Life bond"-like enchantment (forgot name). My healing monk runs LoD with Mending (yeah, laugh it up!), along with Strength of Honor. My henchmens are usually the Necromancer with Blood Ritual, 1 or 2 monks (2 if I feel like I will need it, usually during the harder missions). Ritualist hench if Factions. For Factions, I am on the way to Sunjiang or whatever it's called District. Nightfall, at Kodash, and I just finished the two attribute quests in Prophecies. I myself, absolute hate the idea of farming or grinding for XP (thanks to Aion). I prefer to progress in the storyline, I like the challenge of having to survive and plan my attack. I am going to try and finish Factions, Nightfall on this Warrior. Only problem would be Gate of Madness, I would think.
Max armor is very important, I am sure you are well aware of that. I like to run with Survivor insignia as well as Vitae for the slots that aren't occupied with minor-skill runes.
Know your enemies, know your missions. Check Wiki for strategies and advices. Call your targets so your H/H will focus fire. Try not to go after the "Master" mission, you can always go back later to do it. Just take it slow, plan your attacks. Or just do midget boxing
Good luck!

Tried LS once and got it, Kilroy's dungeon with scrolls, the money in/output kinda levels out and the risk is close to 0 if you don't DC.

1. Hammers of Kathandrax.
2. Skillcapping in prophecies (mobs don't do double damage) NM on double cap weekend along with Factions/Nightfall bosses that are right by the door.
Play something less likely to die, then it makes it easier. The worst thing to play would probably be warrior (frontline) or elementalist (long cast times and shatter enchantment hurts). Best I think would be paragon or ranger.

1. Kath's Hammers
2. Vaettir Farming (if u did it before... if not u might fail, maybe even use cons for health/armor or something if u got enough money)
3. Killroy Farming (did it 3 times with exp scrolls in HM.... finished all 3 leg survivors within 1 day farming there... ~5-7hours usually)
cheers

If you are doing kilroy make a warrior or para cuz they have higher armour then the rest of the classes.
