Pliekki told you the answer allready. If its an item that drops in EotN & Nightfall then its possible for it to exist max dmg gold with no dmg modifier. Do you not remember the "Deathbane" mopd that cause items to be glitched and not hav an inscription slot ? Tribal Axe and Sickles both drop in EotN therefore can and do exist max dmg and gold.

About to add on this, Dwarven axes still drop there but havent seen any still, know few ppl who would pay 100kish for r9 dwarven without dmg mod

Also, I gotta add this, so, i NEVER saw max dmg gold Canthan crude axes in 2006, or overall before HM came, but now ive seen some around recently, If Possible id like see some image of one before HM came out would be thankful

ofc i mean a Sickle or Tribal Axe without isncr BUT with an inherent mod...

I know that they can drop in Eotn with max dmg.... but those are just gltiched inscribable items... Tribal's gold max with inscr or missing inscr also drop in Elona btw.

I just mean max dmg sickles / tribal axes with any inherent mod... gold / purple doesnt matter. I'm not even sure if they drop white/blue max....
only had a few with 6-26 now....

Afaik canthan Crudes only drop @ Shing Jea (or only @ Cho's not sure?) and before hm ALL enemys there were too low to drop max dmg...
So i guess there was no max dmg crude before HM...

its a different skin lol... you can't compare it that easy

Otherwise I could say: look at hatchet or rusty axe.... they didnt drop with max dmg before HM and they don't do now (or at least there has never been any screenshot), so why should sickles and tribal axes do? Only because it might be possible?

Well its also possible that gold noninscr inherent crystallines or dwarvens still drop.... but there has never been any evidence =)

so.... i'd say pic or it didnt happen to Sickles / Tribal Axes =)

The difference is easy:

Crude Axe didn't come max damage before HM, but there were gold non max. before Hard Mode. Mouria (Thorgall Njordlund) had one afair, 5nrg even. Sickle/Tribal Axe might drop in oldschool blue max damage now, but still there will be no gold or purple oldschool sickles or tribal axes - no matter what damage they have. Same for Ball Hammers, Rusty Axe, Hachets, Tribal Blades, ...

I remember when someone was selling a req.8 15^50 Crystalline here on guru in early 2006 (IIRC). Lots of people were banned from guru for spamming the thread and offering real ca$h for it.

well if u checked other threads there was allready some discussion aboud this thing, as akh has one and he said he had counted around 6 to excist i think?

I don't get it. If blue max drops, shouldn't it be possible for gold and purple as well? I just (like 5 minutes ago) had a q10 max blue Tribal Blade drop from KaySey Stormray's group in HM. Couldn't that just as easily have been gold?

There are no purple/gold tribal blades.

It's just the opposite from Gloom Shields/Crystas/some other skins that don't come to my mind right now:

They only come in purple/gold.

It's not about max or non max, there's always been max tribal blades e.g., even in NM, but not a single one - no matter if max or not - was purple or gold

In regards to the "rarest weapon ever," how would you guys say rare staves (restoration req cathan staves, deleted skins (like the old tyrian/dead-skinned fire and water staves), etc.) stack up against rare melee weapons (unconditionals, q7 15^50, etc.)? Could those staves mentioned be some of the rarest weapons because they can never drop again?

But...that's weird, isn't it? I guess it has something to do with the drop database (or however they do it), but it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to have it that way (imo anyway). I mean, what's the point of having those weapons drop at all? It seems like an awfully strange design decision.

Payed 85e for this beauty. They stopped dropping in the first few months of the game so I'd say rarity-wise they are on par with unconds, albeit not as useful

Well for those, they got nerfed way after unconds and so on, making em way more common, also, for usability r7's and unconds etc are nice compared for just some skin difference

But ofc theyre rare ^^

I've Seen a q7 Crystalline 15^ench, Q8 Earth Bone Dragon Staff and a q8 shield that had -2ench and -2stance(can't remember skin)

My favorite thing about this is not that there are 2 made up weapons, but that the shield could have been actually been req 7 (there's at least one -2/-2 req 7 for sale here now), but that one was req 8.

Thinking about it more though, I guess he never said the Crys was max. There could be a non-max req 7, 15 ench floating around somewhere I suppose...
