So, are these items still out there and do they still drop? If so, I might become interested in the game again...it pains me to have inscribable scythes and spears on my guys.

No more can be had - ANet removed all access to the source.

So far, the stuff that did drop seems to still be in inventory, exactly as we leave it.

Regina said the bugged items will be removed in a future update and we should salvage off any mods we want to keep. There is no further official info available on exactly when it will be or exactly what they will consider "bugged" and what they will not. Everything else is speculation.

So the items are still in the game, but many of us are hesitant to trade them until we have a better idea of what gets to stay and what gets taken away.

And yes, I think it's very safe to say both the waiting around and the lack of detailed info are quite irritating to most of us interested in these drops, but there's nothing any of us can do about it.

When I saw her post this my first thought was that is their "fix" for these items, see if you can get people to salvage off the extra mod and /fixed.

After enough time to carefully consider it I believe the same thing!!!
Going off of their track record for fixing/changing things and add in the limited resources they have in an old about to be replaced game I don't believe they are either able or interested in doing anything with these items and figure that people will just forget about it.
Maybe I'm way off and they change them all tomorrow but I doubt they will be changed at all.

Yeah, after this amount of time, I don't really see a fix coming. Maybe that's just my optimism as I haven't actually had any use for my 15^50 inherent Spear and Scythe or my Triple wand.

I customized and use my triple Mesmer wand all the time. I love using it. I figure if there is a "big fix" (which I also doubt), I want to at least play with it first!

I hate to keep reviving this thread, but could it be possible for the administrators to allow the items to be sold on the forums. Since it appears nothing will be done. Some of us don't like sitting in Spamadon all day/night.

Just a question for those of you wiser than I: if I add another mod to my Triple mod, i.e. overwrite the prefix or suffix, will it remain a triple or will it lose one of the mods?

Uhm , i don't think you can overwrite any mod , only salvage the existing extra one , since those were supposed to be uninscriptable at the first place.

you can't add mods, you can salvage the extra one but they won't accept new ones before or after salvaging off the extra mod.

Just popping in with a status update. The devs still plan to remove the mods from those weapons, so again, if you are still hanging on to those weapons and wish to salvage the mods before they are removed, you should probably do so. They're evaluating the effectiveness/results of the latest version of the fix, and as soon as the testing phase is complete and successful, they will move forward with that.

Is it safe to sell the scythes and spears with inherent damage mods (instead of inscriptions) here on guru?

It seems to be that it's only the triple-modded stuff that's going to be fixed in a patch.

You cant sell any of it on guru. Just use another forum and sell in game.

But that does raise a good point. Are the inherent scyhtes/spears/nf+eotn skins weps 'glitched' and going to be removed? The 3mod ones are 'game changing' so to speak. But what about these nift inheret scythes that still have to correct number of mods.

I seriously doubt they could/would remove those anyway.

Nope, I raised this and it was stated by a Guru admin that the sale of inherent Spears and Scythes is not prohibited in Ventari's.

I think it would be a real shame if the spears and scythes were nerfed, hell, with unconds out of my reach it's my one shot at owning an item which is, in all likelihood, one of a kind, a piece of Guild Wars history.

oh nifty didnt realize that.

So why does Guru allow these inherent spears to be traded on the forum but not the 3mod weps. Both come from the same batch of 'glitched' and unintended weapons. Interesting they just cherry pick which glitched weapons are ok to sell and which aren't..

Well, one would assume it's because the triple modded ones are actually "game-changing", while the inherent ones that normally drop only as inscr affect the game in no way whatsoever.

Alright, After reading this I decided that it's my turn to have my voice heard. I hope you, Regina, and the whole Dev Team (Or what's left of it, take some time to read this). Sorry if it's blunt, it is MY opinion, and one that I know is shared with others.

My opinion is: The weapons should not be removed, that goes for triples and the inherent scythes/spears.

My reasoning is this:

1. It is too late to remove them. They have been in game for 4 months now almost. When you first addressed this about 2 days after they started dropping, a nerf would have been acceptable, or even a game reset, ToT's were cheap enough and being overfarmed enough as it was, however now it's not. Ever heard of the 5 second rule?

2. It should not have taken 4 months of experimentation to finally get an update that can remove these... The only reason I see it taking this long is that Anet is trying to make it seem like the update is coming to scare us into salvaging a mod off. The only thing is that the people with these weapons don't need the money of the 1 mod, Mods are worthless today anyways. I don't think they know how to remove ALL the triples. These are not like the WiK greens where every one is the same.

3. If you nerf these, what about the other game changing weapons? The unconditionals... They have not been nerfed and been in GW since the start virtually. There is no talk of them being nerfed.

4. These triples are NOT game changing. I have seen alot of them and have yet to see one that is truly revolutionary. Most of them have unmatching halves recharge and casting times... they are useless, just novelty items.

5. This game is a dieing game, and once gw2 comes out, it will be dead, so who cares about these weapons being in a dieing game for a few months? They do no harm.

6. Instead of nerfing these, I think the dev team should be working on things they promised: such as a 7 hero update or Embark Beach, or adding other new content.

7. These weapons gave people in Guild Wars who had everything already a chance to finally get something they didn't have, and now it is going to be taken back.

I hope you and the dev team takes these 7 reasons above to heart.

Lets face it. Anet made a mistake with the dropping of these. But the fact is that they made the mistake, and it is not a very big consequence/punishment for their mistake to let them stay in game.

Thank you.

Regina, Feel free to make a rebuttle to this arguement.
