Default Traders Funny Moments/Pranks

What are some of the funny things you have done in a traders outpost. Whether it was something recent in Spamadan or back in the old days of Ascalon Int 1. You can include stories and/or screenshots of pranks you have pulled on other traders or district staples. All in good fun of course

Here is a more recent one a few of us collaborated on. Some of you may know of the staple red headed eles sitting in Spamadan d1 all lined up. A few of us decided to make our own ele chain of characters. We went with our own version of red headed eles. Borat mustache & affro equiped. This was one of the funniest moments in Guild Wars history. Spamadan really got a "kick" out of it. Wee Wee

Well funniest (or maybe also dumbest^^) moment I've ever had while trading:

Few weeks after Zaishen-Chest/Eternal Blade was introduced i bought an Eternal Blade Req11 for I think 70-80e or something (while it was worth ~300e) from some girl/woman. She was actually selling it for her husband or boyfriend (cant rly remember every detail) and didnt know the real value i guess...

And well few hours later she pm'd me again and started discussing why i should give back the eternal and take back my ecto^^
She said her husband would beat her up if she would lose his ecto and he would scream around so that the children can't sleep and other bullshit^^
well ended up in her offering me a webcam striptease if id give back the eternal

well gave it back for free just to have some funny screenshots from the discussion...
Still got those screens but language is all german so i guess wouldnt bring anything to post em here =)

Cheers!

A few weeks after Teal was banned idk why I just felt like pranking Wasabi for the lol's. He took it well and we had a nice conversation ending with a good chuckle because I dont think I ever told him who it was.

A couple days ago I was standing in Kama, watching P ads from a less-crowded district. Someone playing a lvl 3 Dervish came up to me without a word and offered to trade. At the time, I did have a wtb ad up, so I figured that's what it was.

He put white, low level Corsair Trappings and a "Stolen Shipment" in the trade window. Still, he said nothing.

I declined and then thanked him for the wonderful randomness of his offer. He came back and offered some other random junk, still without replying to my whispers. On the off chance it was someone who'd seen my weird buy thread, I put some "Stolen Goods" from storage in the window and made some goofy comment about how mine were way better.

He started changing trade and adding all manner of random, low-level Istan junk drops. I started pulling random odd stuff from storage to show in response. I finally broke out my uber-leet stack of stone summit badges, which he was very keen to buy for 20g!

I wound up giving him a juicy heket leg and a mysterious summoning stone to add to his collection of junk.

He never said a single word to me.

I have no idea if he was serious or just messing around, but it was awesome! Totally random, unexpected break from the monotony that can be Kamadan.

Here is a picture of our last round of show and tell - clearly, I won!

Well, sadly, random unsolicited trade offers of gear isn't that unusual. My standard response is to just hit submit and accept without offering anything. Frustrate them to the point of bothering to type something to me, usually something like, "omg noob! not free u have to pay me!" That's when a stone summit badge or two comes in quite handy.

But never before has anyone put up such an intriguing unsolicited offer! I admit, I was sorely tempted to see if I could talk him down for those corsair trappings and stolen shipment! I'm trying to exercise self-control and not start collecting anything new until I finish my stacks of humps and stolen goods though.

I was selling a ded naga awhile back and got a few interesting offers....

1) The guy offered me 10k demanding that there was not a single dedicated mini worth more then 10k.

2)Offered 200e worth of cash.
Me:Sure if you plan on doing all the trades of cash first and me only trading the mini on the last set of ectos, otherwise ectos only.
Him:Scammer
Me:right...I'm the scammer.
Him about 5 minutes later: Come on man I'm rich I have no reason to scam you. I'm like the richest guy in this game I have 2 stacks of ectos.
---I look at my few stacks and think about how he is so much richer then me---
Me:well in that case you have enough ectos to pay for it in ectos now don't you.
Him: But I want to hold onto them.
Me: to bad.

3)A guy offered me 75e for me to let him put my ded mini in his HoM...(although now that I think about it...this might not have been the naga....I really can't remmeber which this was)

It's sad how desperate some people are for pixel money. Anyway, have fun with your merch food.

As a rule I don't sell to power traders, but will try to price my items so that individuals can get a good deal. Recently I started a HoM weapon business with a nice selection of 15 Destroyer and Oppressor weapons. I also had materials to craft custom, and let people know that in my WTS offer. I priced everything at 50K, while typically these weapons were going for 5e-6e. Some people buy just 1 in a category, but I often get multiples in a sale.

Some customer starts asking about my selection, and then starts picking like a kid in a candy store, from both Destroyer and Oppressor category. I just assume he's like most of my customers and wants to finish off his Hall of Monuments quickly and inexpensively. I sell him about a dozen weapons, wish him well, and go off to do some vanquishes.

About six hours later I return to Kamadan, and find a new merchant of HoM weapons, with roughly my same WTS script but without the custom option. It was the same guy, trying to sell what I just sold him, but for 7e apiece. I threw out my WTS at 50K each, and he just vanished.

It didn't take long to reinvest the 600K cash...
