Storing Ghosts-in-the-Box for appreciation?
So this is my first year as a dedicated trader, and am now storing pcon stacks for appreciation later next year. From the Halloween event, corns and apples are a given, but I'm debating whether to hold onto Ghost-in-the-Box (GitB) stacks. Hearing dozens of them pop off in Kamadan does not give me a good feeling that they are anything other than spammable party, 100g/point.
But the wiki says they generate Soul Reaping deaths, and have myself confirmed this with my necro. Some elite areas this is really useful, like battling Mallyx and certain areas of Urgoz. So I can see them going to 200g or 300g/point for that, which would make for a nice appreciation. Where I am seeing real possibilities is where in the wiki it now says the GitB triggers EoE deaths to Ghost races.
Smite crawlers, Shards of Orr? Is anybody using these for farming, and could I see prices rising to 8e or 10e per stack months from now?
26 stacks are taking up space until I can decide.

If this is all on wiki, I presume it is common knowledge and the price will always be 100g each. Although lately spammable party points are even less.
Furthermore- read the description of edge of extinction. (http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Edge_of_Extinction). It only triggers on foes with less than 90% health. You can't just pop an eoe spirit, run in with a perma bar and tank, pop these ghosts, and kill anything. Eoe will be useless.
100g each forever...

That's now what I had in mind. More like EoE, pop Ghosts, splinter volley, about a 2 second delay, then the nuclear chain goes off. I could see possibilities in SoO and parts of UW.

well...hmmm....i doubt will go over 150(only if the guy buying is desperate for points)
but you do have a fair point, it would work very well in UW to chain EoE with the ghost spam since alot of the stuff in there are ghosts
i doubt it would work in SoO tho since there are near to no ghosts. Me and a guildee argue'd if fendi's soul was a ghost or not (english vs. german wiki ftw) but from what i know ghosts dont take double holy damage.(correct me if im wrong; im basing this off murakai)

Fendi's Damned Crewman are ghosts, FWIW.
I did see a December WTB in Kamadan for GitB at 4e per stack. It appears there may be some interest. It's still too early to tell; GitB were being fired off in Kamadan as title points as late as early January.

Here is evidence of a need for Ghosts; check out this thread: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10527771. The Buy was filled for Ghosts at 5e/stack.

One person buying at 5e/stack is clear evidence of GitB appreciation. Who knows? In a thousand years, even you may be worth something.

Ghosts are extremely useful in things like UWSC so I think they will rise but not hugely.

Precisely because I look for opportunities that others miss, it will not take years to become worth something. Knowing a lot about margins and turn ratios certainly helps.
25 GitB stacks currently represent < 2.3% of my net worth, at cost. Not a big gamble. See ectos stacks??

My cost was 25K/stack, so had I got that 5e deal, the profit would have been over 100% for less than 90 days holding. That's better markup than a lot of 1 point title stacks, but probably not as good as higher end pcons or other non-stackable items. If I see that trade available again I may take it.
The insight I have from a veteran player is the GitB stacks may go to 10e before the next Halloween. That's a worse compound interest than what might be had now, assuming I could reinvest in something as good or better right now (lunar fortunes perhaps?). I have +/- 600 spaces for long term investments.
I'm in this for the long term, as much as a favor to my customers as for the profit margins. If there are UWSCers scrounging for GitBs in August, I'd like to be the distributor that has it for them.

theyre used highly in uwsc, combine the boxes with eoe in vale and it can clear wrathful spirits in a few seconds. same thing can go for chaos plains, can easily do 4h in seconds with eoe and boxes. you can all HoS, Vipers defense off of the boxes
