That's just the nature of Scamadan, chat log or not chat log. The WTS prices people are spamming are not evidence of actual trading prices but people will always be opportunistic. Kamadan is a mirage when it comes to price-checking. Guru is more of a ghost town in that hardly anything actually sells for B/O prices.

I think the reason of as you say, guru not having alot of sales that go for buyout, is simply because alot of people use it as a "long time" sale medium.
The stance people take by trading here is making sell threads for their items to soak up exposure, which will demand time and thus makes the waiting a factor of certain r/bs being closer to its b/o.
If you would sell it for any urguent reason, the b/o reflects most of the times that there is room for profitt. (if such intention is there.)
Kamadan has become a playground for people these days, to fool others with proclaimed price checks in the hope they could benefit from if the oppertunity allows them.
And the victems are either people that last logged in years ago having perhaps q7 weaponry, or new people deciding to play gw(1) since they enjoyed/disliked gw2.
As last I think people in big alliances just ask their own ally for PC's and thus taking the majority that reads it as truthful, its a risk factor but also.can lead to further under/overpricing.

Lol so this thread is: dont trust kamadan prices, go by guru prices which is mainly made up of a small close circle of friends or guildies. Seems legit.

Implying that the gurus here give price checks for their own gain?
Guess again, cupcake.
The prices we give are our opinions on what prices an item may go for.
Kamadan trade chat is full of kids asking 500e for a 15e shield.
Neither the gurus' opinions nor Kamadan trade chat is guaranteed to be correct, but the gurus here sure as hell aren't out to rip people off.

No one's price checks are perfect. But the vast majority of price checks given by guru users on guru are much better than the vast majority of price checks given in kamadan or in alliance chats... I've been in big alliances, I've seen the lousy price checks first hand.

buy outs never get met unless its a super desired item and actually may even surpass b/o at times.
but yeah buy outs are actually always overpriced for a reason; buyers always offer less than the buyout as their 'final' offer and the actual price the seller will accept will usually be close to that.
