Some wise words indeed. That Max chap really knows what he's talking about.
That's a great start! Some of those shields are very nice indeed. You are right to be proud of yourself. This has the beginnings of a very impressive collection. Keep going!
For what it's worth, there are very few of us whose main collections can actually be completed, and even fewer who have completed them. It's a long and ongoing process. A labour of love, and you're off to a good start....

Good start erdbeer, its good to see new types of collections grow.
This made me go through nostalgia lane for a bit, checking out old threads or opening some pages in the middle too see who was doing what, and how they grew out long before I even came here.
Looking back to when I first posted here on page 49, I realised that how much I wanted to be a "collector", and by simply purchasing items regardless of its history or value.
If there is one thing I learned, is that its not the destination, but the road you take and go through, meeting diffrent people with the same passion for reasons of their own.
These people i'v learned to know over the years have definately influenced on how my collection looks like today.
Now, i have a totally diffrent collection from what I once started, its about finding your indentity.
Frankly, I dont have the feeling that i'm a collector, its definately not the feeling I was expecting to get when I started.
I think this entire journey only made me wiser, about what I have learned from others.
Sharing eachothers knowledge while flaunting some of our best pieces, to remember why we are doing this.
In the end, its the passion and comradery that puts us through times that we simply couldnt have done it without eachother.
I feel privileged to be a part of this great small community, and the people that have helped me, and when I was able to help them.

Today is a very good day. After a month of despair, I finally met a new friend.
Her name is Hobba Inaste, and I have the privilege to introduce her to my family
Special thx to Pleikki for wearing the reindeer
The hunt never ends, I hope more to come.

Dear everyone,
My name is Emma and I'm new to this part of Guild Wars, but I've fallen for it in record time. To see all these amazing collections, I can't believe my eyes. Max showed me some of his dual reductions and his Crystalline Swords in game, after seeing those I couldn't sleep for hours because my heart was racing.
Tonight, after browsing back till page 75 or something (long way to go, I know) I don't believe I will catch any sleep. I drooled for hours scrolling these pages. After two years of not being sure what to do in Guild Wars anymore and a lot of breaks, browsing gwguru, talking to Max and seeing all these amazing items, treasures seems more fitting, I feel like I finnaly have a purpose in Guild Wars again. I started a thread selling my most expensive inscr. items to replace them with, you guessed it, oldschool and uninscr. items (hopefully later, my own treasures).
I just wanted to get this off my chest, you are all a great inspiration to me and I hope that someday, I'll achieve 1% off what some of you have achieved here.
Thank you all!
Yours faithfully,
Emma

Welcome Emma.
Hmm. Much potential you have. The kleptomaniac is strong in this one.
It was a pleasure to show you my stuff. It's true that my collections have some nice stuff, but you will see soon enough that my collections are average compared to some of the awesomeness that exists in the vaults of others.
I will watch your collecting career with interest, for you have all the ingredients required to become a great collector. But above all, you seem to be a decent human being, and that is rare these days. Welcome to the community.

Seeing all the cool items my friends have posted here makes me wanna post some cool item again. Maybe I will. My collection is underwhelming compared to what is already here. Especially since the nice stuff is gone :c.
