Having retired from spending hours in Kamadan, it seems that I have carelessly acquired 14 more dual reduction shields since the last time I posted them. The total in my display cabinet within my vaults is now 65.

My collection is beginning to take shape a bit more now. It may look like I'm randomly acquiring every one of these things, but my opus magnae has always been the pursuit of creating sets of dual reduction shields - one of each requirement per skin. Look closely and you can see that my masterpiece is beginning to become more ordered.

Magmas Shield

Tall Shield

Defender

Crude Shield

Shield Of The Wing

Eternal Shield

Reinforced Buckler

Shadow Shield

Summit Warlord Shield

Aegis

Skeleton Shield

Skull Shield

Wooden Buckler

Round Shield

Ornate Buckler

There is still a long way to go.....

Wow.

Which do you think is actually the most valuable? For you and for the market?

There's actually no way to answer that. None of these shields have dropped since early 2006, so they're all already very rare. (This is the largest collection of these ever to exist).

You can tell how rare a particular skin is by how many of them I have - the rare skins are obvious by their quantity here. Obviously the r7s are excruciatingly rare because of the odds of them dropping in the first place. However, because of that, people kept them, so they are more likely to have survived than r12 for example.

The rarest ones of all though are the Magmas Shields, the r10 eternal -2-5(19%), and the r7 tall -2-2(10%). These are the only ones ever known to have existed with these mods, on any skin. But the complete set of Magmas shields is worth a special mention. The set was put together by Enchanted Krystal, the finest collector of Magmas shields in history. He was my inspiration to collect, and gave me my first dual reduction to start me off. He let me purchase the set a long time ago for my collection. These are the only known dual reduction Magmas shields, but to have put together a set of r8-13 is truly astonishing.

In terms of value, many of these shields are truly priceless. They are worth whatever people are prepared to pay. Some of them I would tentatively value at over 150 armbraces each, but it's impossible to value them. A r9 eternal shield recently was subject to a bidwar, and my offer of 50a was not enough for the seller to part with it.

They're priceless to me. But on the market they're worth what ever you're prepare to pay.

pshh Max those are only known dual red magmas on active account, But there was many more around back in the day, incl q8 -2/-3 which was sold many times over again back in 2006-2007

But very impressive collection! Best dual red collection ever for sure!

Yep, that's what I meant... 65 shields but only one fully complete set.

Nice post

The time I started to think about collecting oldschool items was the time I planned to (or had to) quit playing. But respect to the effort you put in that collection, keep it up

uhh tooburns too bad - you have a typo in there - no worries tho, I´ll fix it:

Summit warlord->"Defender"

Dunno if you did the Typo or the friend who told you... You´re welcome

Luny would have loved that Van! (I have quite a hoard as well, but not organized--wee bits and bobs on different characters/accounts, guess I should screenshot them).
