I like this thread, and I "collect" tons of crap. So here's what takes up most of my storage
Some of these are much cooler than some others. The serpents are unfortunately canthan. Never did find a purple tyrain one. Also could probably use a purple crystalline if I wanted to round out my 'rare' skins I suppose
Can you guess what my favorite skin is? Can you guess what my favorite weapon set out of all the crap I own is? Used to have a similar collection of plain old kamas but I got rid of those before I quit

I wanted to post earlier - but I got banned for writing a very strongly worded response to SulfurMart for calling me out. (Yet he doesn't get banned for being a complete asshole - but let's save that for another conversation) Hopefully you all got to see it before it was removed - cause I was kinda proud of it...
Anyways onto the real matters - Max, definitely sad to see you go man. But I completely understand where you are coming from and I feel the same way. Generations are turning in GW - The Old honorable respectable people that earned their ectos in game are leaving and the new generation of ebayers and syncers who are assholes are taking over. That's why I have pretty much left as well. I've basically felt this way since I got that fire dragon staff (omg a fire dragon staff <3)
Us old school people will always have our collections though - some of the finest items in guild wars, and no matter how many armbraces these new people buy, they won't ever be able to afford them. Because what they don't realize they are doing is devaluing their armbraces by ebaying more of them.
And I wanted to add this - Welcome back Fred - long time no see.

Ye I feel the same way, hardly log on anymore.
Hearthstone is pretty much taking all my time now.
It's exactly these ebay scumbags that get everyone hacked.

guys, just looks in pc section.... since all the old guys are pretty much gone pretty much all pc ask have no reply or absurd one. All thoses guys that pretend to be trader dont reply there because they dont have a single f----- clues about market. That bunch of i---- can't pc a single thing because they have no idea about the market price of item. They just can't tell if an item is good for merch of worth keeping. Same apply in sell section, non sence sell price and should we talk about bidding ?
that's the present and futur,
We are the legend ! !

Took me several tries to guess the password; but I just had to say kudos to the dual-shield collection on the previous page. And to think I ended up on GWG while googling for SWTOR voice-actors. XD

As the game continues to find its way forward, your name will be whispered in hushed tones by those who continue the quest to sit in the presence of Guild Wars' ancient soul. They will claim to have known you. They will claim to have seen the relics you lovingly preserve. For the players who remain, you and your collection have become part of the history they will try to unearth. You are not leaving the game. You and your collection have become part of it. Thank you for sharing your treasures with us one last time.
It is time for you to pursue other challenges. Before you go, I'd like to acknowledge some of your achievements that can't be seen. Years ago, Guild Wars faced challenges that are not unlike those it faces today. Greed and ignorance are not new forces in the trading/collecting universe. Under the weight of those forces, an older generation of collectors had faded from the game. The gentlemanly trader was becoming a rare and dying breed. The history of the game (as manifested in its ancient relics) was becoming lost, relegated to rumor and legend -- much of which focused on players whose accounts had been annihilated by well-deserved bans. The game, its economy, as well as its history were crumbling as a result of rampant greed and ignorance.
At this critical point, you were hand-picked from the flock of fledgling traders and brought into [PhD] for your intelligence, integrity, and humor. You appreciated items not only for their rarity and market value, but also for their value as historical artifacts. You understood the importance of preserving that history and making it accessible to everyone who sought to understand it. You understood that this mission could not be accomplished by collectors who did not hold the respect of the Guild Wars public. You contributed to that mission with the single-finest dual-reduction shield collection ever assembled. You assembled your collection in the finest tradition of the gentleman trader.
In doing so, you helped to preserve not only the history of the game, but also a way of being in it. A revitalized community grew up around you. As the last officer of [PhD], you have helped to guide the guild through the last couple of years. Our roster has grown enormously through your efforts. Under your hand, a once-small and semi-secret guild has assumed a more public character, while maintaining its vision, focus, and integrity. [PhD] has been a labor of love for me and I want to publicly thank you (as I have privately many times), on the occasion of your official retirement, for laboring alongside me, Kabong, and our [PhD] brethren to ensure that the ancient soul of the game never perishes from Guild Wars.

strong essay
as for max, nice work, i am impressed on how far you have come over these couple of years, you assembled the best dual reduction collection in the most honorable fashion and tbh i doubted your collection could grow to more than a dozen shields due to the dying state of the game but through your persistence and hard work you were able to achieve such an impressive feat.
kudos to you max.

Thankyou.... I couldn't have done it without all of your help.
Funny thing though, as soon as I announced my retirement, two opportunities arose which I couldn't pass up.
So, a huge thanks to Red for parting with these:
They go straight into my r7/16 collection as some of the finest pieces.
Is that all 4 of the known r7 celestials? Or are there more?...
And also to MacStah for selling me these:
I'm still considering customising the sword.....
The pleasure and honour was all mine.
Max

Congratulations - very nice additions! Loving the FDS...
There are many more than 4 r7 celestial shields floating around. It was one of the more common r7 skins. Probably the most common canthan r7 shield skin.
I know kromp is sitting on at least 1 nice one - I think its q7 tac +30 -2st? Kromp can correct me if he's around any time soon. There are some lousy single mods around too.

Anyhow, Max you will be missed amongst us but certainly not forgotten just like the other people in our guild.
They might not be physically present, but their collections will forever roar flames in our tombs.
Have a good one mate, i'll see you around.

Well Yuko, I know we haven't talked in a long time. But I knew eventually you would see this if I posted the screen here - that's why I did. It's one of 2 of the crowning jewels of my 6 piece fire collection. I don't log in game too much anymore, but I definitely thought of you when I got it.
Your fire staff collection puts any staff collection I have to shame (All I have is 6 items =P), I must give credit where credit is due. Yes, I may have THE ONE, but you have all the others. I also think that if you were active that you may have found this one before I did.
No shame! Stop it. Your collection is much better than mine - I'm not worthy =P
And thank you, much appreciated. You should have seen how happy I was when I got it.
How is life treating you man?

Well, honestly, if I had found it the seller, I would have given them your name. : )
Dragon's aren't my true love, and I already have every staff I want (mostly). Like I said before, you deserve it.
Your kind words about my collection make me really happy. Glad to know there are some people who appreciates them other than me <3.
That being said, I think that Dragon firmly puts you on top of the Ele Staff collectors in my book, just out of sheer dedication to one item alone. I might have you beat if you add in the Wands and Offhands thought
Cheers,
Yuko

Haha I am sure I am not the only person other than you that appreciates them ^. And thank you. Yeah maybe I have you beat in ele staves, but I only have one... . You have some quite nice ones. And you have some great wands and off hands ^.
It's my 4th 20/20 Dragon Staff. But by far the sweetest of them all. It beats my q9 divine 20/19 healing and everyone knows I love my monk stuff.
I consider myself a collector of fiery items ;P. And the fire dragon staff definitely counts in my opinion.
