My collection is now one year old.

I have been gathering these relics for a year now (give or take a few days), so instead of the usual PhD fanfare, I have decided to take a humble look back over the last year and to acknowledge those who have most helped me in my quest to acquire such relics.

Firstly, I want to thank Enchanted Krystal for helping me take the first steps into the world of collecting, and keeping me true when it got hard (and expensive!). And for donating my first piece, inspiring me to gather more. Hmm. My Yoda you are.

Secondly, Calli. For the enormous donations that you made to this collection, and for thinking of me when you found some of these shields for me in Kamadan.

Third, Purely Impurity for your donations.

Fourth, Captain Krompdown for plucking me from obscurity and believing in me and my collection, inviting me to join Teh Academy [PhD] to help develop my obsession for ancient relics. And then for listening to my ideas for taking the guild forward. Thanks for having faith in me!

Fifth, everybody else who has helped me find these shields.

And finally, thanks to the entire GW traders and collectors community for accepting me.

But this is why I trade stuff. To fund my collection. Everything that isn't a dual reduction shield is tradable. It has to be, cus they're so damn expensive!

And yea, EK and Calli help me out too with the odd donation. That's why they were especially thanked in my post above. I can't underestimate how grateful I am to them.

So it's old news that I collect/hoard/adore Magmas Shields, but I always had a goal or endgame in mind once I started. Something to give my collection that final "proness" that it deserved, as so many people had helped and inspired me along the way & Mr Kromp has some epic ones that I had to compete against.

Thanks to the actions of one special person, Kuba, I was destined to strive for a full set of dual reduction's!

With help from Brave, Gregor, System & others I was able to secure all but the Q9 Dual reduction & so the hunt was on for the last piece of the puzzle.
Years passed.....

Today is the most exciting day in my GuildWars life.....today I got that last missing dual reduction shield that I have searched for, for so long!!! THANK YOU ARIS!!!
