Stage #3 Finalists (CONGRATULATIONS!!!!)
-the numbers in the brackets are the post numbers in this thread; for easier reference)
- Tramp (21)
- Dr Imperial (28)
- Tyrael Eveningsong (155)
Each person won for a very different reason. One of the key criterias I decided to establish was a clear identity of the person who would be receiving the reward. If you didn't name names, I decided to not weigh the entry as heavily.
@ Tramp: Thanks for your passionate public (and private) appeal on the good nature of some people, and defending those who both need and deserve something. I'm glad that there are other well-off people who see that money is not everything, and that people deserve a share of the goodness that is out there.
@ Tyrael: You and I have a small history together! I believe I first met you on my secondary account; maybe you were buying Red Iris Flowers? Or something else of the sort. Anyways, like Massiva Impulsa mentioned, your entry is a good one. The value of true friends is not something that one can put a price on, yet it seems like we can never give or do enough to thank them. I'm so glad for you that you have these people in your life. You seem like a very gracious and humble person.
Breakdown of prizes:
~ approximately 475k/100e value (in cash, ecto, etc.) per finalist.
~ about another 500k total to certain non-finalists.
TOTAL PRIZES: about 2 million platinum.
@ Scarn, Haxor & Alexander Burn Victim: I'm thanking you each for your entries; had I not known you guys OR the person you were writing about, I may have selected you. I opted to be a bit more objective in my selections. I <3 Scarn, Jayne & Erin are amazing women, and I really adore Mystic Elentari. There may be something more private in store for you guys. <3333
To all others: I'm sorry that I couldn't pick all of you to win. If I had enough wealth to give everyone on the shortlist 100 ectos, I would. You are all quite inspiring people, and I'm glad that you have let others into your lives! Some of you may be receiving unexpected contact from me for prizes, even if your name is not listed as a finalist.
As for the person who tried to scam me out of 300e in my last big giveaway, you shouldn't have bothered entering this one... or any future ones.
Thanks to all who participated. I hope your Christmas was smashing, and I hope you all bring down tha house with a crazy and amazing new years celebration!!! I hope that 2009 brings you good fortune.

Congratulations all and thank you Illfated! Was quite an honor to be on the shortlist if nothing else. Twas fun to be part of such a good-spirited event that hopefully reminded all of us that did it what the season of giving is all about, and that good people still exist both on Guru and in Guild Wars.
Once again, congratulations to the winners and a big thank you to all involved, it was fun to watch and enjoy everyone's stories while trying to judge whether or not my entry was better . Gotta go back and read the finalists and make sure Illfated didn't make a mistake =P.
Best of luck and a Merry Christmas/Happy New Years to all!

I was wondering which of those three would win. Congratulations guys!
And thank you, Illfated. This topic was absolutely wonderful to read. There are a lot of great stories in here that show how great our community can be, and is.

Thank you, Jenn, most of all for helping me to give back to those who have given to me!
Everyone, great posts! It's good to know that positive people still exist in the GW community! It's one of the things that keeps me playing!
