Okay wish list :i want 1-300e wateva im not doing this for the money but for something else

I staretd playing the game about 3 years ago and i was a complete noob nothing could help me i was basically hopeless however one day in Yakks Bend i noticed some dude saying "Listen To Guild Cast for all your GW gaming needs"
so i tried it out . this Dude was later to become the biggest help ever in guild wars i had ever had.I went to listen and "shawn" aka Bbq Ribs (the host of the show) has made me learn there is more about GW than money and armor and level but there is also friends real friends so all of the writers who tell you gaming is a waste of time are wrong. The truth is however that i only met shawn ig twice but each time he treated me as if he knew me. the podcasts helped me the most even now when ive beaten all 4 campaigns/expansion i still listen to Bbq Ribs or Lady Sinae(co host) to help me out with DoA and the likes. Shawn was funny and everytime i play a shred of advice he gave me in about 100 podcasts always comes back to me. Sadly Shawn does not do the podcast anymore which btw was GuildCast because he started to play Tabula Rasa(wth) . But i hope he comes back for GW2 and helps the communitity again. if You want to see the forums just type into Gw Guild cast and you will be able to see ones of the best podcats websites in the world .

wishlist: Greatest wish - FOW armor; otherwise gear for heros (armor/weapons), read below.

friend/inspiration: Necron Nine Nine - a work-friend of mine who, much to my wife's chagrin, got me into playing this game 23 months ago...little did I know it would consume much of my free time - what with a 3-yo, married and a full-time job - I have very little of (but still managed to rack up 2.5k hours over 23 months across all char's!). Since Nec really needs nothing in-game being that he's at 26 maxed titles, has all the stacks of alcohol for 27th title, and plenty of gold to finish others, I would not be giving any of whatever gift you would bequeath to me - save one trinket: a gold jade longbow to repay the one that nec started my (main char) ranger with so long ago. I thought that would be fitting.

Other: My real friends in-game have been my heros and my pet(s). Since I can't do much to repay my pet raven, Little Wing, for all of her help and sacrifice, I would like to show my hero's my gratitude, through your graciousness, by giving them upgraded armor and weapons. I mainly play solo with h/h. Sure, I chat on local and alliance now and then, but main play is just me and h/h. I don't even play with sound. I can't get into long missions/vanq's because I never know how long I'll be playing for at that particular time. Amazing that I've been able to get to Level 3 koabd! Anyway, Olias, Master of Whispers, and Livia get the most play because of the infamous Sabway...but before that bit of genious was imparted to myself and the community (through this wonderful bbs), Koss, Dunkoro, and General Morghan (the "GENERAL") were my main homeys. I remember the days at the beginning (I started in NF) when my ranger, Argeris of Melmat, and those three all had pets (flamingos and lions of course) and I thought I was so cool! Though thousands of wipes later and millions of exp, I am still fond of General Morghan. I would buy him a voltaic spear and a killer shield (probably an amethyst aegis) if I had the money. Oh great, now I need a tissue <*sniff sniff*>...

at first i just joined his guild and he was so polite and everything to me. anything i needed he helped me with.
at one point i was thinking about quitting guild wars cos i got scammed really bad.
but he helped me up. he inspires me so much , hes everything u cud wish for in a friend.

and now here i am, still in guild wars after been scammed so many times

It makes u think how special u are to have such a good friend like that.

He doesn't quite realise how much he's helped & made the game more fun for me.

Okay, I met Evil about a year and a half ago. My gulid was a straggler Kurzick guild struggling to stay inside an alliance that held a town. I saw his guild [JD] was recruiting, and he kindly gave us a spot. We were at 150k & I was really greatful. He did nothing but help out, giving out sound advice & keeping my hopes of making my guild succesful alive.

We also got on very well as friends. Both have a great sense of humour, trust each other & talked about general life & Guild Wars stuff.

My guild took a quite big soar on the very first AB double points weekend. 300k ~ 1Mil in about 2 days. The entire alliance grew & we took Amatz with 11Mil alliance factions.

JD left though to join Halo, the number one Kurzick alliance, and we ended up taking over the alliance. The alliance took a lot of work, and my guild grew a further 1Mil. We took over Tanglewood Copse & were really happy for it. This was all because of Brute's contacts & advice.

Many moons later the alliance crumbled, and we were offered a spot in VILE, we joined, but left about a day later, to join Halo, so we could reunite JD & EMP. Everything went fine 'till a few internal issues occured among other alliance guilds & a bit of bitching etc.

Halo alliance crumbled, and EMP picked up the pieces, and then EMP had a 15Mil alliance that had Tanglewood, and JD stuck by us through it all. THe alliance collapsed after a few problems that arose with another guild taking guilds off of our own.

EMP crashed, and when all was lost, Brute told me firm & solid not to give up, I didn't, and we grinded for days and days & after 2 months, hit 4Million faction. The guild participated in an alliance war with CLAN & OMEN fighting for House Zu Heltzer, and all through, JD helped us, with Brute funding weekly contests for EMP to make sure we kept on growing, donating large sums of money like 100k & 40 Ecto's.

Eventually EMP made a move across to OMEN, along with DoA & another guild. Things went fine, and after 4 weeks. EMP finally had it's turn with the leadership rotation. We took Heltzer for a week with JD back in the alliance, with 70Million alliance faction & 6.5Mil guild faction.

Without Bruticus, my guild would have never have achieved what it did, it was his encouragement, help & donations that kept me & my guild going. He's a good friend and will always tell me how it is. Known him for about 18 months and he's made the game a lot more fun. He is a Party Animal at heart & he's a brilliant guy. He took his guild to Heltzer once, Altrumm Twice & Amatz many times. He always caters for his member's needs, and everyone that's around him. I have a lot of respect for him & I always will look up to him because of it, he's an inspiration on the game, and a great friend too have.

The story: Well, it's not the most fantastic tale of all tales, but it's my story of getting into Guild Wars and a very special, if not quirky, bonding experience that my girlfriend and I have shared for nearing two years.

My girlfriend (hereafter "Vague") picked up Guild Wars as a no-subscription game a couple of years ago when her mom got tired of paying for subscriptions to whatever other game she played. For a while, she played with her brother until her brother quit and moved on. Luckily, she stayed in game with a guild that had a couple of friends in it.

I always made fun of Vague for playing Guild Wars. I'd never really played a computer game, I was always a console kind of guy, and she thought that I'd really like GW. Our interests are very similar, insofar as liking fantasy stories/games, and eventually, after constant nagging (women, amirite? =P), I decided to give in and give it a try, and we went to Best Buy and she got me Factions.

In the early days when I sucked (and we both kinda did at the time, but I'll get to that later), she created her Monk to keep me alive. A few weeks after I joined (and found that I really enjoyed it), we convinced another friend to play and got him Factions as well. He roled a Warrior, and we had an epic trio: My Ele, Vague's Monk, and our other friend's Warrior. And together we played through Factions.

To foreshorten this part of the story, I got Nightfall and Prophecies and our other friend lost interest. Vague and I pressed on, creating other characters and playing through the other games together. We joined a new guild from our alliance as our original guild was falling apart and after doing The Deep one night, realizing that "Elite" play was loads of fun. In that guild, we began our quest to have max titles. We each had chosen a "main" character, my Assassin and her Ranger. We honed our skills and knowledge of the game, and in that guild were able to complete HM Factions and Nightfall. We were becoming upper level GW players, still playing together.

Now, we're still pressing for max titles, both at 13 and both 3 missions away from Legendary Guardian and therefore r3 KoaBD. We've done every mission together, sometimes with guildies or alliance members, but always together. It's our plan to get GWAMM at the same time.

In real life, we've been dating for two and a half years now, and, independent of Guild Wars, are planning to get married when the time is right. The game was, of course, a fun and easy way to be together even when apart and to share a common goal and practice teamwork. Sure, it's a stretch to apply this to real life, but at some level, it's the truth.

In game, I'm far wealthier than her now, primarily because I farm and am always trying to be on the forefront of farming new and pricey items. But we still share the same goals and play around the same level, making for a fun and easy gaming experience.

Anyway, the Wishlist. Last year, for either Christmas or her birthday, I farmed her an IDS that she was wanting for her Warrior. I think it'd be very cool to continue the tradition of getting her an in-game item she's been wanting. After purchasing my Obsidian armor for my Ele, I'm short on cash (and I don't think I'd have outright purchased a Dryad Bow anyway), but still wanting to get her something nice that she's been looking at pictures of on wiki ever since they came out =P. What a neat surprise it'd be if she woke up on Christmas morning, logged on to her favorite character, looked at inventory, and was holding a perfect Dryad Bow, just waiting to be used and loved.

Plus, the ectos leftover would probably be split between the two of us and she could buy some new armor which she's always wanting. I figure it's her big girl way of playing dress-up. Far less sentimental but nifty nonetheless

EDIT: Here's a conversation we had. Just playfully discussing what to do if we had a Mini Polar Bear and got 7 stacks of Armbraces from it, and guess what she mentions =P.

My best friend Quez, he's made my Guild Wars playing time much more enjoyable. Recently I was hacked by a so called "friend" and he stole my account, Quez was there for me through all of that and gave me a account to use and money. He was there in the times where I wanted to quit. I got my account back through Play NC and unfortunately all my characters were gone... Everything was. He was there to help me out. I made a ele soon after and me and him did all of our vanquishers, carto's, skill hunters, we did all of it together. He helped me out so much and i just want to give some back to him. Thank you.

the rest i would buy guild npcs for my gf's guildhall cause she only haves the cheap ones and every time they need to get materials or w/e they have to go to an alliance Guildhall to get them the guild is like 1 year old this would actually make evey guild member happy

True story:
well i started playing guildwars arround the same time i met my gf( arround 3 years ago, factions release) and we both started playing on the same account i remeber we were a lil bit mad about this time we created a necromancer for her and we where trying to put a elementalist aura in hear head piece ,just cause it had a nice look :P

then we created a guild whit only 1 member :P we only cared about having a cape then after we joined a guild which was very helpful and active we met this guy which was the guild leader and every guild member tought of him to be rather wise and a great guildwars player too All of his toons had Abuelo on their names we all caled him like that , so then the guild became inactive after a few months the guild leader left the guild we where all sad about that and then 1 of the officers of the guild recruted some new guy to the guild and then after 2 days in the guild he was promoted guild leader.

me and my gf( we also got married ^^ during this time) left the guild and created our own guild and we where liders of the alliance and one of the alliance guilds was our previous guild.
now this last year one of the officers of this Abuelo's guild sent us a PM said that Abuelo's son log in to his dad's account to say to every one that his dad passed away. then alot of people where really sad because of that ,every people that knew him will always remember Abuelo as a really good GW player/helpful and supportive.

this guild went to some up's and down's but it still very much alive now the tag is [MEX] and they usually hang on spanish districts alot of new people on that guild but some of them still remember there was this guy who me and others will always remember.

his main was a ranger and he tought me a few ranger tips/builds. so now my main is also a ranger

The wishlist isn't for me really. I only play as casters. The wishlist would be for my special friend.

Her name is Plague Shot. She normally plays as a ranger but enjoys PvP-ing with her warrior. She actually my wife. We met ~5 years ago in Classical Mechanics, a really really boring physics class. I was into video games back then and she wasn't really. I installed Diablo II so that I could play it while at her place, but this only got her hooked on the genre. She eventually discovered GW about a year after I had been playing it. We have always done things together. We are in no way elite, after all my "coolest" weapon is a R12 voltanic spear that I got lucky while actually doing the dungeon on NM, and she enjoys a drok's bow We joined a couple of really lame guilds with immature players and eventually created out own guild. There only 2 people in it and it's been that way for over a year now. We do not have enough people to do actual PVP, we're stuck doing AB and RA. We enjoy just playing the game for the game itself, vanquishing, charting, capping elites,... She's my best friend and the love of my life. And this christmas she'll be be away as her parents are having surgery performed 5 hours away on the 18th. So I won't get to see her. So that's why my wishlist is not for me. And that's why I wanted you all to know about her. I wish you all a happy holiday season!!

i met him about the time when Chest Running in FoW was hot. i would periodically see him CRing in fow and would join. we would CR for hrs a day. then 1 day i decided i wnt to ab with him. i found out he was a lux and i was a kurz. so i quit my guild/alliaince and joined his guild. we, along with other guild mebers who are now my best friends on GW ab, zaishen runs, mish/quest help, donations, and wut not together all the time. even though he is way older then me i stay think were pretty good friends. he is a trustworthy person who i kno i would trust my account for. he helps me much more then i help him, but its because he has all campaigns and i have 2 :{. he always tells me if sumthing is a good deal or scam.he has taught me much since i'v been friends with him. still to this day we CR of course not in FoW but other places now.: ]

'My Guild Leader'

About 18 months ago, I was hacked

everything I had ( 7 months of playing)

Was lost.

Being young ( 12 at the time, I am now 14 :P )

Losing an account with 3 games ( est, $250 ) was allot of money.

well anyway, when I told him I was hacked, a couple of days later he told me that he went too games store and bought me GW factions!

so my guild leader, someone I have never met, spent $50 on me...

He also bought an officers wife GW so she could try it out.

And he Put down $100 pre-order for GW, which he is giving to a guildie.

When NF was newish, he gave away 2 req9 ele swords to help out newbie guildies.

He isn't a rich power trader/ famer, he just one of those people that thought" hey these guys are new and they need these items more than me" so he gav them away, and I mean nowadays, honestly how many people do you know like that?

I could go on for ages, but I don't want to bore you Illfated, and you have to read all the other posts so...I will try and make it easier for you.

And with all the time he spends helping guildies, ect ect he has never really had much time/money for himself, so I thought a fissure set would be great for him and he'd really appreciate it.

Although technically I'm not eligible for the prize right now (9 days shy of the 4 month period) - I will be by the time that you decide upon who you are going to give these presents to.

Anyway.

Wish list:
As many ectos (or cash) as possible.

These ecto's wouldn't be used for me, but for the few special people who have not only influenced my playstyle and life in GW, but also my actual life. I won't be able to give them all presents, as some of them have stopped playing. I will however, share this story of how I arrived in this game, and how they helped me with not only their kindness, but their advice, friendship, and love.

Warning: this story is long, and parts of it may seem useless. It's however needed to present the full picture of how these people have influenced me.

I've owned this game for I believe 3-3½ years now - I'm not certain how long. I've spent the first 1-1½ not really playing it much at all. It wasn't until I got in to college that I started playing again, at the urging of one of my classmates. He introduced me to Nightfall, and later Prophecies and Factions. Sadly he quit playing actively several months after. He did, however, influence me in one large way. He introduced me to what is essentially the core of all the guilds I've been in, which has changed my life due to the people in it.

Around the time that my friend stopped playing the game, I myself got in to a serious car accident. I broke my pelvis, and was bedridden for weeks. After this, I was forced to stay in a rehabilitation clinic to (amongst others) overcome the paralysis that settled in my left leg, and learn to walk again. I was 17 at the time.

Being that my movement was restricted, and I was confined to this clinic, I hoped that the few people I considered friends would at least come to see me. Alas, they did not. A harsh lesson in reality was learned, and I decided that the virtual might be a better place for me. Due to this, I picked up Guild Wars again.

After playing with the guild my classmate had introduced me to for some time, the entire guild decided that in order to progress further, we needed to go to a new alliance, merge with an other guild. This we did, and eventually every active person in our guild transferred. We became the Knights of Aralia, a guild in the luxon part of the [LaZy] alliance.

Now of the four people who influenced me most, I met the first two here. Our "Guild Manager" Jayne (Aragon Zar), and her roommate and first officer of the guild, Erin (Mischevious Pup). Kind, patient and generous from the start - these women became very good friends of mine, abid at the time, strictly for GW.

They are responsible for the system that our current guild utilizes in regards to in-guild trading. You all put the stuff you don't need in a big pot (multiple storage accounts, at that time provided by them - now by me and several other people in our current guild). People take what is needed, no payment required. People who take and do not give are noticed, and quickly dispatched of. For this alone, I (and my friends) owe these two a debt of gratitude, spreading trust and goodwill in a close environment.

This is however far from all. Several months after I had joined this guild, I was promoted to Officer. This means I was amongst others responsible for the recruitment of new members, and making sure they feel welcome in our guild. In this function, I met the third person who radically changed my life. Her name is Diane (Siorai Banrion).

Hearing of our guild through a friend, she decided to join on a second account first, before deciding if she wanted to join on her main account. Of course, she did - our guild was too awesome to refuse. With her compassion, generosity and overall friendly attitude - she was a person to respect and admire. We grew to become good friends, a friendship that persists to this day.

She, in fact, was the one who introduced me to the fourth and most important person I've met in this game. This person is Jennifer (Carn Angmar), who is currently my girlfriend. Even though we started on a slow pace, we grew to like each other, and became good friends.

Anyway, I digress from my actual story.

The same year as my accident, I started college again, at a different school. I picked up the pace again, and signed up at a student society - a merger of a fraternity and sorority, which has smaller groups in it, called 'Disputes' (which essentially were fraternities and sororities, on a smaller scale). I had fun, and was doing well in college. I however remained active on Guild Wars, as I had made four extremely close friendships, and far more general friendships.

As time went by, around January (a year after my accident), my focus started to lack. I began messing up in college. At the society, I was refused admittance to any of the disputes - likely because I never really let anyone get close. After all, as I had learned during my accident, if people get close - they can hurt you. I would not let this happen again.

However the unintended side-affect this had was that it made me feel like an outcast, with no friends. This reminded me of the periods I was locked in the hospital and clinic without friends who visit, and my childhood (I was bullied quite horribly until I was about 13). I became depressed, almost suicidal.

I stopped going to the society. I stopped going out. I stopped going to college. I didn't return calls or emails from anyone asking what happened - I disappeared from the face of the earth. Guild Wars filled most of my day, next to the chores and work I would do around the house.

My insomnia increased, my mood suffered. Finally, I was confronted by the four friends I had made. Each had individually noticed something was very wrong, and decided to talk to me about it. I was reluctant at first, but eventually talked to them. To each, I talked about a different issue. My fear of friendship, my insomnia, the fact that I had never felt truly happy, and more.

Being the great friends they were, they all kept to their own. They did not discuss anything of what I discussed with them with my other friends. Jayne and Erin, who were roommates, didn't even talk about it. However, after several weeks I finally decided that they should come together and talk about what they had all heard. Merge the pieces in to one big story, as it were.

This allowed me to finally talk to all four of my confidantes at once - to get all of their input. It was a step forward, and eventually - with their help - I was able to break through the wall I had put up around myself, and actively start to get help. They helped me come to terms with what was going on, and how to fix it. Day after day, night after night these four women were there for my in what wasn't my hour of need - but what were weeks of need.

Words cannot express the debt of gratitude I have to these four women, their friendship, and their advice. Finally, after many weeks of this, they had finally convinced me to contact a Psychiatrist, as they were worried that I was clinically depressed. This I did, and even though he himself has been little to no help at all thusfar, their help in getting me so far has been astonishing.

Unlike most stories, however, this one only has a partial happy end. Due to personal reasons, both Jayne and Erin had to leave the guild. Shortly afterwards, our entire guild had a fight with the leader of LaZy, and we collectively left to reform our old guild; Legion of the Feng Huang [ASH]. I have not spoken to either Jayne nor Erin in months, at least not any real conversation. The most I've been able to do is short, five-minute conversations - making sure they were okay.

The happier part of this, on the other hand, was Jennifer. Whilst we were still a part of LaZy, she and I started talking more and more - finding that we had a lot in common. We eventually fell in love, and I went on a vacation to the US, so I could be with her for as long as I could. As I type this, I am in her house. I've been here for over 3 months, but I will have to leave in two weeks, to go back to my home in The Netherlands. I have to finish my college education before I can even consider moving entirely.

As for Diane, she continues to be a great friend and guild mate even now. She is the person I have to thank for introducing me to Jennifer, and was the first to congratulate us when we announced to our guild that we were together.

This was my story. The story of the friends I have, and have had, in this game. The people who have not only changed my gaming life, but who have affected my life on a personal level - and continue to do so even now. Their spirit of friendship, generosity, trust and respect is what has made me the person who I am today. I can never repay this debt to them, but I can most certainly make sure they achieve their goals in this game.

This is what I would do with the ectos - fulfill the wishes they have. I will make them happen with or without the ectos. It will just take me longer without (unless I happen to get a mini polar bear this wintersday

).

In any way - congratulations to the person who will win, in advance. If nothing else, it feels good to let people know my gratitude for these women,.

First of I'd like to say what a wonderful idea this is to give to the community. I'm sure there are some people that will greatly appreciate such generosity and such. I play this game to make friends and have fun, even if some people are...questionable at best. I hope I can still play this game in months to come and make some more new friends and maybe get my hands dirty on the hardcore pvp end.

my ultimet goal is to get one char of every proff 100% pimp there gear and style it to my own tastes. with perfect gear etc etc so i suppose just 300 ectos to fund making new chars!

The person who is most important to me that i know from the game is my Guild leader

we do everything together and have a right laugh in the process. i do intend to buy her a silverwing req 9/bow of the H for Xmas but there generaly a hard thing to buy/farm.
