Hello, thanks for viewing my thread. Not really sure if this is allowed but its a free service.

Basically, I am looking to do some web design while I am finishing up school to earn a few bucks. The problem I find however, is that my prospective clients want to see samples and... well, they never made it on the internet. I'm not bidding for big businesses but they still would like to see what I can do before paying me anything.

This is where you guys come in! I am looking for 2-3 guilds that would like websites that I could make for my portfolio. I will get them hosted for free (You can apply a domain name for something like $7 a year after) and your guild will have a spot on the web.

Right now I am only looking at smaller sites that I can still make look great. I base my web design around the Joomla CMS and create a custom CSS tableless layout for it. This allows it to look great, have tons of functionality, and look totally professional.

My process for creating your site would be as follows:
1.Register your free web hosting
2.Install Joomla on the free host
3.Create the website layout and containing images in Photoshop
4.Select modules and components for Joomla that enhance a community/guild experience according to your needs
5.Write the code for the layout in HTML/CSS
6.Install the custom layout on your site
7.Train your designated website manager in the general operation of the site
8.Hand over the keys

My custom layouts will have a small watermark in a corner marking it as my custom design.

I will only take on one guild's site at a time, and I will post the result in this topic for the latter guilds to see.

So how do you get this? Well, I need to know some info before I can start to make it.

First, I would request that your guild have Ventrilo with a decent amount of users on that I can join in. I wont talk in your main chat, but I would like to listen to get a feel for how the guild operates. This makes a difference in how I design the site, but is not completely required. Then I will need to talk to someone that will be a spokesperson for your guild. This person will decide the theme and color scheme for the site, as well as making any suggestions for layout that they would like to see.

Last thing, I would like you guys to remember that while I have been working on this stuff for a while, I am not a professional artist. I may not be able to produce exactly what you envision in terms of looks, but I will try my best to meet your desires.
