We really need a FAQ section for these things. Hundreds of times we've answered this one? Unsightly massive thread...
Question: 60k per party for Ascalon to Drok's, how much for 1 person?
Answer: A party of one is still a party, and must cover the full party price. If you are able to find 2 others (Runner +3 slots from Ascalon) willing to split the party price, paid to the runner in advance, god bless you. You could essentially find 2 more once at Yak's to split the price again for the remainder of the run. Likelihood of finding this many people, willing to do this without any prior knowledge of LBS, and on the spot? Slim to none.
That is why most people will just pay the full party price of a run themselves. It results in a quicker run for the customer, and less hassle over all.
The reason for this minimum price setup (60k asc>droks), with all our runs, is that this is how much we value the run at. If we are going to take a certain run, we know how much time it takes and the difficulty and effort required to put forth. We do not value our time, skill, and effort of a Droknar's run from Ascalon for anything under 60k.
Yes, some of our LBS members, generally less experienced, charge less for runs.
Yes, almost every other runner will charge less than us. We offer to you trustyworthy business, the quickest trip, and some of the most skilled and fun runners in the game.
Another important note: A run like Ascalon to Beacon's is by no means "hard". I am 100% sure you can find another runner for this for far less than what we charge. We charge more, and expect less frequent customers in this area, because it still takes time, and any hassle you could find with a random runner is essentially flung out the window when dealing with LBS.

The biggest benefit is hands on help and teaching from some of the best runners in the game.

Yes, I created the original post ages ago before there was an Academy so there weren't people to peer-review it. It has seen minor updates, but my formal running service thread was the very first one on GWguru and has spawned an industry, which is fun to watch. I typed it up in an hour or so, I think. We like to see other creative ideas and ambitious people who care about professionalism and honesty. It is unfortunate that sometimes the imitation is verbatim rather than slightly changed, but we are happy to help people and even be a model for them to follow, as the Academy does provide an incredible service and represents an great model to follow. Feel free to ask for advice, but the best advice comes from applying to the Academy and being one of the lucky few admitted!
Happy adventuring everyone.

I just have the question... What do you have to provide for me? I have made over 300 Sucessful Droks runs, and teach people how to do runs, I just wish I could know what else I need. Do you have a way I can be tested to see if I need help on certain things?

The droks run is only a minor part of the instruction at LBS. We do not test you to see what you need in terms of running, but it is fair to say that you, like everyone in LBS, probably have areas that need improvement. The curriculum has increased tremendously since the beginning of the academy and almost every aspect of the game is covered now. There are even some people in the academy heavily into PvP who help pvp novices learn that area of the game. I hope this answers your question but feel free to ask anymore that you may have.

Hmm just checking, the entree fee is still 15 ecto right? (never save cash, I always spend it right away)
I'm thinking of joining the academy someday soon, as I'm baffled by the knowledge of Me Nofat ^_^
But I don't want to leave my current guild (Im sure that is fine by you, for it has been already stated somewhere earlier in this thread)
I'm able of doing the droknar's forge run, but I could use good help on perfecting it (I always thought I was pretty ok, but I failed 5 times in a row today...)
At the moment im leader of a mini-runner academy, no fee, and I let in people who I like friends and ppl I ran from place to place and who were totally trustworthy and nice
It's for the newbies only, I tell the pro's to join the LBS but they won't pay the fee ^_^ only a few in my guild can run drok's at the moment most of them haven't capped charge yet ^_^
As for the secret keeping of LBSRA's running secrets, I will promise not to tell anyone what I'm not supposed to tell. (I know it's just a word, but hey what else do I have to offer ^_^)
Anyways, if you think of letting me in, I'll start saving up some ecto's ^_^.

I was wondering the same thing (not that I'd ever take the academy, since I find no happiness in running :P ) but I remember that LBS charged 15 ecto back when ectos peaked at like 18k each... Now simply because the market has fallen the price of the academy has been reduced by over 50%? Seems... strange.

even then 15 ecto's is nothing to scoff at for someone as poor as me ^_^
(could make the money needed in one day I guess tough)
my first ecto dropped for me a week ago, while trapping UW (after 7 ecto-less tries)

We have not changed the tuition as we want it to reflect market conditions on some level, but that said, we are planning to change it when Factions is released after finding a more stable medium. It may be changed to gold at that time or some other material that makes the sacrifice of people joining roughly equal to the investment of those who went before.

As I understand so far, this guild is just for a good community, and you are not... Well, taught everything as all you do in the guild, I guess, you have to ask or watch. Maybe If I'm wrong, could you inform me?

We have too many people to have full scheduled "classes". On the forums however we have videos, guides, maps, builds and strategy for most aspects of the game. The hands on instruction is something that you have to ask for but with over 30 graduates and 10 officers there are plenty of people able to instruct.

Please remember that this is still the service forum thread, not the Xbox, 1337th post, or irrelevant commentary thread.
Thanks.

I am very intrigued with this academy.
I am already a Beacon's to Droknar's runner with roughly a 85-90% success rate.
I am curious about the -10 dmg reduction at all times through lornars as I get -5 at best. Would I have to pay the full tuition price just to learn This?
Also, if I am already a droks runner, would you consider it beneficial for me to enroll in this academy? Or would the information that I would learn just not be worth the money invested?
Thanks,
Tgod

As for the damage reduction rates, Search is your friend.
Only you can decide if the investment is worthwhile, but, the Droks run is about 5% of what we do.
