Nothing listed in the first couple of posts is required. It's just a list of reccomended items to make things easier.
Axes are perfectly fine, it's just our typical build is centered around a sword. Many members use axes.
The -2 damage is nice to have, but again not required.
Payment is in ecto due to LBS rarely having the ability to accept gold for payment of anything. If you pay one of the officers you may be able to make an arrangement with them.

They're largely recommendations to make things easier on newer students. I suppose if you refuse to use them and you're failing by a slim margin, you could attribute it to equipment, but there's usually no such thing as failing by a slim margin I think that fruitcake Toast was using an axe for awhile...

- Will a major vigor suffice? I currently use major and find sup not worth the extra 70k to buy, the 25 extra health is not that big of a deal to me and I have never found it to be that useful.
|
Superior Vigor is actually only an extra 9 Health above Major Vigor. 50 to 41. It's not worth it if you can't afford it, we usually wear them because it makes us look rich Some of us still don't use Superior Vigors iirc.
Quote:
- For the shield (-2 while enchanted, +45 health while enchanted) is this required? I have one right now with req 8 and +45 health while enchantedis this sufficient or will I require the -2 dmg as well?
|
The shield will be very useful in the long run and Malinon's Shield is not particularly expensive (~75k). Like I said, nothing's necessary, but this shield will make your life a little easier.

- I use an axe right now fo my warrior with 20% longer enchant and other mods, will this suffice or is a sword required?\\
|
Yea I'm pretty sure Toast used an Axe, him or some other person. Swords make things a lot easier in certain cases, but using Axes isn't taboo or anything. It'll be harder for you to follow some of the guides that are written because they're all based on sword wielding. I typically give near-perfect utility swords that I find to Capitalist (Admissions Board Member) to hold and distribute to needy students, so he's probably got something you can use.

- Payment must be made in the form of ectos? How about equivelant platinum (just sold all my ectos and dont want to work to get that many more )
|
It's preferred to pay in Ectoplasm because LBS tends to have her storage and characters maxxed in Platinum. If you must pay in Platinum, I'd suggest contacting LBS first and making sure she's aware of your intent ahead of time.
Hope that helps.

You sir are WRONG!
Super Vigor = +75 HP
Major Vigor = +50 HP
Minor Vigor = +25 HP
I hope you didn't pay 15 ecto to get misinformed.

I really, really hope you are kidding. Because you are going to get flamed like none other if you aren't.
@ Racthoh: I have a wrong info detector. Comes from sitting on the Q&A forums answering these questions and correcting people for months.

I hate having to post 4 screenshots to prove that you sir are wrong.
EDIT: Geez Savio, how did you find the time to get out of the Godly Tester thread to beat me to this?

I'm not going to flame, but I will say that you just torpedoed your already-questionable credibility by posting this misinformation. I'd suggest refraining from using caps in a "corrective" post for future reference.

The real question for me has always been: why that extra 1 HP with a major vigor?

Blue Steel, because ebayers like +30HP mods for 70k (sword) and don't like the +29HP mods for 10k (sword).
I knew something was going on with my HP ...

Thats almost as funny as the time when someone called me a newb for trying to sell a 15-22 dmg 15>50 longsword as he thought max dmg for a sword was 19-35. I had to explain the difference between axe, sword and hammer.

His chaos axe that he bought the furious mod off me..and yea its garbage
At any rate, as a graduate of LBSRA, I run with a minor vigor and major absorb. It's not crucial, but it's nice.

No offense, but that just makes you look bad running with a minor vigor . Not a problem though.
Major -> Superior is not worth it at all. Just an extra 9 health which isn't very much at all.

I don't feel it makes me look like a bad runner at all, especially considering that the customer will never see my armor. In my eyes, all that matters is that I complete the run successfully and quickly, and that the customer has an enjoyable experience during the run. If these three things can be accomplished than I feel I have done my duty to the customer, at which point the 11health from a major vigor becomes a rather unconsequential matter.
