Be nice to Pong, I think he's changed his view from 'anti-LBS' to 'Lets-all-have-a-good-laugh'
Edit: Where's my hugs and 100ks?

Yeah keep telling yourself that. You obviously have convinced yourself that this is the case inorder to not feel left out. Once again the classic, "Anyone can find a good running build its most probably already been posted" argument.

Gah Herb,
I give away almost 600k of gold already and this is the kind of love i get. I think it's obvious by now that I am rather tired of guild wars. If not why would I be giving away my stash of gold and loot. If you would like me to give you the names of the 8 individuals i have given a large sum of gold to feel free to pm me and I will gladly give you there names. I happen to like Master Beef and Toast a lot. Thats why I'm giving them gold. I talked to beef for awhile in game yesterday and was getting a kick out of him spamming a req.7 15>50 crystalline over the trade channel. No, it probably wasn't the nicest thing to do. But we were just testing to see how many people would even message him. No big deal. I think there were a couple of chinese dudes talking trash to him afterwards.
Really, if I wanted the build I could definitly get my hands on it. As I know about 4 of my buddies who I went to school with who all have guru accounts. I get on there account, write the paragraph, pay the fee, get accepted, and have access to all the secrets. Not to mention the few extra mil I have left now that I could probably pay an lbs member and get the build. If I wanted to do what you are presuming is my idea why in the heck would I give 100k for it rather than logging on to one of my 3 accounts message and lbs member and get the run for whatever it is you charge.
Once all my goods are sold and all my gold is distributed that will be the last you see of Pong.
I got some free shields I'm giving away in the sells forum be sure to check them out.

You get a bunch of documents with tips, maps, suggestions, tricks, etc, some videos, a lot of in game help etc. There's a few builds given out at a time.
I don't really know if I learned anything yet, but I've always been a slacker in school
I've had a lot of fun in the guild though.

Sorry for asuming the worst of you. From what I have read you seen a nice enough person and get on well with a few LBSRA members so that is good enough for me.

We also include directions to Ember Light Camp to buy skills...
New Member: "Where do I get X Skill"?
Me: "Ember Light Camp."
New Member: "How do I get there"?
Me: "Beat Thunderhead Keep."
New Member: "Can you help me"?
Me: "No. Good Luck."
Seriously though Coooooly, I give equipment out to new members when I have some lying around, as do most of the officers. LBS does invest back into the Academy. And I have done THK 3 times in the last 3 days to help guildies.

Let me try to explain one more time a little about the prices that people criticize, because I really don't understand how people argue with this explanation: People claim our prices were a stroke of genius to corner the premium running market, but all I did to arrive at them was trial and error! I started charging a mere 5K for forge runs per person many, many months ago, and I was in such high demand for being completely successful and completely honest, that I had WAYYYY too much business. It wasn't worth my time, and the pure, simple laws of supply and demand dictated a price point where I had tons of business, but I wasn't being asked to run people every second of my life. How do you argue with that? As capitalist pointed out, the only way you can is fallaciously. I cannot say this any clearer: our prices reflect how we value our time, and many people in Guild Wars value their time enough to recognize that our time and skill is worth what we say it is. Our runners could be PvPing, UW, FoW, playing games back at the Guild Hall, or anything else. If you need an "on-demand" runner, you have to recognize that the best ones (the LBS ones) cost. If you are a runner who has just started and doesn't value his or her time, go ahead and do an eight hour run for 10K. I promise you that will get old. And if you are looking for a runner, and you don't value your own time, then spend an hour spamming "LFR", spend two hours with runners who fail again and again, and then finally get to your destination cheap, except you spent so much more in time than gold that if you really looked at the numbers, you would have been better off with a professional.
And the same is true of the Academy admissions: we charge the exact amount that gives us applications at the rate we want. It is simply a way to control demand. We have extremely high standards, and if I did not charge, literally tens of thousands of people would want to join.
As a final thought: an exceptional guild can offer experiences that lengthen the enjoyment of the game. If someone out there is a recognized leader in some field, and wants to charge for people to learn a few skills in that specialized field, ask all the questions they want, and then take a few tests to prove to the world that they are capable of perfection in that specialized field, I think that's awesome. I'd sign up just to prove myself and get some recognition for being able to tackle a new challenge within the game, beyond the short-lived challenges the game originally provided.

If you plan on quoting, please include everything relevant in context. Don't piecemeal quotes unless you plan on getting a degree in yellow journalism. At the very least, please provide a convincing counter-point beyond just personal opinion. Otherwise, it's just more spam with no solid foundation.

Shar Cakes, didn't think I would have to put the whole quote in there for ya. Was merely trying to point out that I have seen people post that this guy was a lawyer one to many times. Is this suppose to impress people or something?
3 = the times i have seen him post this

Maybe everyone on this forum can post what they do for a living, and what credentials they have. As i said before it's not relevant to anything, and I am rather tired of seeing this posted. Maybe we can find a few doctors, chemist, engineers, etc. that roam about here. I doubt it, but who knows, maybe there is some.
Also, I was in and out of beacons at least 5 times today, and everyone I talked to said it was basically impossible to guarantee a soloed forge run. Is this true, and are the majority of LBS members taking 2 people to do the runs. I was probably in there for at least an hour, and took 3 runs with a few folks just to see how it would end up. And all three dual team groups guaranteed it for 3k and they all made it. I'm very surprised that you'll have any business at all when it comes to the forge runs as it is simple to find a guaranteed run for 3k. If anyone can gurantee a soloed forge run now I would pay well to see this.

Wow this is so pathetic. I was running in first 2 weeks of release. Its like paying someone to show you how to use dye. Anyone enrolled into an academy to learn how to run is seriously lacking common sense. But to keep down the flames..i suppose you dont have anything else to do with the gold.
Think about it though...there are thousands of runners in the game and they are in no way associated with "LBSRA". You do a drok run twice on your own and figure out all the spawns. I guess im just jealous that some dude is making easy money off the ignorant. Oh well..sucker born ever minute.

Here is my counterpoint: You were lecturing a lawyer on ethics -- not GWG running, but ethics... do you have any idea how silly that sounds given the courses they have to take on the subject? My point is that LBS's law background IS relevant to ethics. That's all, nothing more, nothing less. If you wish to dispute this, please do so logically. Otherwise, you're just digging a deeper hole for your argument/case.

I've soloed it a few times, though my success rate is about 30%-50% at Lornars since the lastest patch... the rest of the run is easy.
