hi there

this thread is for those of you who wish to wager a little gw gold on the nfl games this coming weekend.

for anyone who is not familiar with betting lines, rules, etc, i will try to explain everything as clearly as possible.

my gambling thread is going to be accepting players bets on 2 vegas related lines

1. point spread
2. over/under

[odds taken from vegasinsider.com]

1. the point spead values are represented by the numbers -3.5 & -3.0. these numbers simply mean that chicago is favored and listed at -3.5 points and that indianapolis is favored and listed at -3.0 points.
if you bet on the bears to win, they must win by more then 3.5 points. [ie. bears 30 new orleans 26] if the bears win but only win by a margin of 3 points or less, you lose. [ie. bears 24 new orleans 21]
if you bet on new orleans to win, they must win outright or lose by no less then 3.5 points. so even if new orleans loses, you will still have a chance to win as long as they do not lose by more then 3.5 points. [ie. bears 24 new orleans 21]

the same applies to the indianapolis/new england game. if you plan on betting on indianapolis, they must win by more then 3 points. if you plan on betting for new england they must either win outright or lose by less then 3 points. if indianapolis wins or new england loses by a margin of exactly 3 points, all bets are nullified and no one wins or loses any gw gold.

2. over/under values are represented by the numbers 43 & 47. this type of betting scheme is very straight forward. if you plan on betting on the over/under, you are betting that the combined scores for both teams, depending on which game, will be over/under 43 or 47. [ie. over 43 for the bears & saints means that you think that the combined final score from both teams will be over 43 - a final score of bears 24 saints 21 would be a win if you bet for over]
if any combined final scores add up to exactly 43 or 47, depending on the game, the bet becomes nullified and no one wins any gw gold. [ie, you bet under on the bears/saints game and the final score is 27 - 16, no one wins or loses]

ALL PAY OUTS ARE 1:1 [if you bet 10k and win, i will give you 10k. if you bet 10k and lose, i am owed 10k]

i hope my explanation was satisfactory and you understand what everything means.

please post bets according to the following list [to avoid confusion]

1. chicago to cover [meaning that chicago will win by more then 3.5 points]
2. chicago not to cover [meaning that new orleans will win or chicago will win by less then 3.5 points]
3. over 43
4. under 43
5. indianapolis to cover [meaning that indianapolis will win by more then 3 points]
6. indianapolis not to cover [meaning that new england will win or indianapolis will win by less then 3 points]
7. over 47
8. under 47

rules.

1. there will be a minimum bet of 10k and a maximum bet of 25k. if u plan on betting on all 4 lines [ie. point spread & over/under for both games] the maximum bet per line will be 6.25k and the minimum will be 2.5k. if u only wish to bet on 1 of the lines, you may bet up to 25k but must wager a minimum of 10k.

2. i will be accepting bets from a maximum of 20 people [maybe more depending on how many people post a bet].

3. plz post what you are betting on, the amount, and dont forget to leave your ign.

4. i will be updating the betting odds as they change [once a day leading up to the games, so check back on the thread when u can]

5. the betting line/odds may change leading up to the games, so you may adjust your bets accordingly. deadline for changes are 1/21 1:00pm est for the bears/saints game and 1/21 4:30pm est for the colts/patriots game.

6. bets that are posted that cancel each other out [ie. i bet on chicago to cover and chicago not to cover, 10k on each] will be ignored.

* payment will obviously be on an honour system so if u dont plan on paying plz do not make any bets.

And if we bet 10k we win our 10k back.(we win nothing)
Or if we bet 10k We get our 10k back plus an aditional 10k making it a grand total of 20k?(we win 10k)

and if we lose we owe you 10k.

So do our winnings double or Does our money stay the same if we win.

And once again this is on the lines of gambling. iam not sure this is legal as there are people underage as myself.

in terms of legality, im not too sure. hope my account doesnt get perm banned.

normally, payouts would be 2:1 but since there isnt a mediator or bank, the 1:1 ratio is in place based on a honour system.

you place a bet on this thread and if u lose i am owed the amount you bet and vice versa.

if the amount of money you bet was to be placed in holding, payout would obviously be 2:1.
