I haven't been able to do many maps lately, I've had a lot of work and not much game time.

On top of that with the recent changes to the game and the announcement of GW2 I have decided to quit GW and move to Lord of the Rings Online.

There may be someone else who is going to start checking maps so stay tuned to either this forum or this thread to see if they do.

Attention! Do NOT send me your maps unless you have paid and I have sent you instructions for how to take them.

If you send me maps before you have payed they will be deleted immediately as it is hard to keep track of those who have and have not payed otherwise.

If you have PMed me or e-mailed me for a map check and I did not respond, I either deleted your message because you sent maps before paying, or I added you to my list of people waiting and I will contact you when I see you in game. Or you can contact me when you see me in game. I can not keep messages from those who have not payed as it clutters my inbox and makes it difficult to keep track of. If you have requested a check, but don't need one anymore, please let me know so I can remove you from the list.

Purpose of Service:

To help players gain their Grandmaster Cartographer Titles.

Service Provided:

The checking of player maps in order to spot any areas that are currently unexplored by the player, so that they may then uncover said areas and gain more points towards their title, until they reach 100%.

Note: This service is now open to the following continents: Tyria, Cantha, and Elona.

Reason for Service:

Even with the use of 100% cleared maps and guides, many people are unable to figure out what they need to explore in order to finish off their titles. The last 2% of a cartography title is the hardest to gain, as often there will be many tiny spots all over the map that the player thought they explored, but have not.

It can often take days or weeks to find the areas you need when you are at 98% or above (Or you may simply be incapable of seeing them at all). This is especially true of Cantha. In Tyria and Elona there are definitive boarders where you can uncover area for the title, so much so that you can actually see the defined shapes of the areas in zoomed out maps. This is not so in Cantha, there are hundreds of little nooks and crannies that you have to find in order to clear the area, and they jut out at the most unusual places. As such you will find many areas you are missing in places you would have swore that you fully cleared.

This is where I come in. I know where these spots are and I will find those spots that you have missed. Possibly saving you weeks or months of wasted game time.

Cost of Service:

Service will be provided based on the percentages below:

The base rate for checking maps will be 30K. Additional fees will be based on the current percentage you have uncovered. The reason for this is that it's a lot easier to check a map and point out 1-2 spots someone is missing than to have to point out 20-30 spots someone is missing.

Total Cost based on % completed:

99%+ 30k to check the entire map

98.5%-98.9% 40k to check the entire map

98%-98.4% 60k to check the entire map

97.5%-97.9% 80k to check the entire map

97%-97.4% 100k to check the entire map

90%-96.9% 120k to check the entire map

If you have below 90% on your title, I tell you now that you do not need my services yet. You should easily be able to find more area to uncover on your own. Simply look at your map and find any areas where there appears to be too much fog, or fog in the middle of an otherwise clear area.

If you still think you need my service before you hit 90%, I will charge you 110k for the first map check. If you find everything you can from that check and still need another check, it will cost the same as if you are purchasing the service for the first time. Thus if you are still under 90% it will be another 110K (This really shouldn't happen though), and the process repeats until you are above 90%.

If your next check is above 90% you will be charged the same as on the table above, and any additional checks from that point on will be free.

Additional Fees:

Due to the extraordinarily high amount of maps that people send me and the time that it consumes to download each one. I am imposing an additional 10k fee to those who send me maps which are not zipped into 1-2 files.

I will provide you with all the information you need (including a program to be used if need be) to do this. You simply need to follow the directions and the 10k fee will be waived.

Note 1: I do not want people to pay an extra 10K. I want customers to zip their files so time is not wasted and thus maps can be returned to customers more quickly.

Note 2: Zipping files is an extremely basic computer skill that any regular computer user should know how to do. So if you don't know how to do this, you should consider it a favor that I am getting you to learn it.

I am currently trying to collect all the mini-pets so I will also accept the following:

I will check any 3 maps (Tyria, Cantha, or Elona) or more for guildies, family, alt characters, etc (# will be based on which mini you have) for the following:

Longhair Yeti
Oni
Naga Raincaller
Island Guardian
Kanaxai
Mallyx
Greased Lightning
Panda

Note: I only accept the ones listed above, so do not make offers based on ones that are not listed.

In Cantha it usually takes about 3 spots to = .1%. Thus to get from 99%-100% you will probably be missing around 30 different spots. This will of course vary depending on the size of the spots that you miss. The spots that are referred to here are the small spots that many people usually miss. So if you are missing some big spots, that will mean you will have fewer small spots to get.

In Cantha, if you have used the Eredon Terrace Exploit, or entered through alliance access (Allows you to access a portion behind the gate), subtract .7% from your total. For example, if you have 98.6% and you have this area, then your total will be 97.9%. If you have entered any other alliance areas, add .2% to your total.

In Tyria, if you have accessed the old arenas that are currently closed, then subtract 1% from your total. For example, if you have 98.6% and you have these areas, then your total will be 97.6%.

Credentials of Provider:

I have been checking maps for over a year's time. I used to be active in threads where I checked maps for free. During this time I checked literally thousands of maps. More credentials are listed under my Current Customers section in the following post.

Why are you charging for a service that you used to offer for free?

That's the big question and it's simply a matter of time and getting sick of it.

When I was checking maps for people before, that was all I was ever doing. So many people wanted their maps checked, and to me it felt unfair if I were to check a few people's maps but not all of those who posted.

At one point I tried to do a back log thing where I wouldn't check them for awhile then I would take a day or two and check a heap of them, then not do so for awhile again. The problem with this is that the backlog became too large, and checking that many maps in such a short span of time was giving me massive headaches.

It got to the point that my only involvement with Guild Wars was checking other people's maps, and I decide to stop doing so on the board around the time that Nightfall came out, as I wanted to actually play the game that I had just spent good money on (Special Edition $90 AUS). After that, just the thought of starting to do so again gave me headaches.

This being said, I was still checking maps for people. Though I quit checking them for people on the board, I would still receive massive amounts of in game queries from people who wanted me to check their maps for them. There are times when I have 4-5 people asking me at the same time. I do enjoy helping other people though, so since they took the time to contact me in game, I decided to go ahead and help them, as I find it hard to refuse requests from people who need help.

Thus I have now decided that instead of just stopping completely, I will charge fees for my services. This way if people whisper me in game wanting me to check their maps, I can tell them that I run a map checking service and point them here. So I will either check their maps and get compensation for the time that I was unable to devote to the game, or they refuse and I am free to continue playing the game normally (there was a point where I almost forgot what that was like). And I can still continue to help people get their title.

Notes:

1) All customers who purchase this service will need to pay the cost in full before checking is commenced.

2) All customers will need to provide a screenshot of their current % and I will confirm this in game when the service is paid for.

3) All customers will need to provide screenshots of their current maps. You may send them to me in a private message on this board. Or if you are only a guest on the board and still wish to receive this service you may e-mail me at [email protected].

4) I reserve the right to deny service to anyone for any reason (Most likely cause being lack of time) before money is exchanged. Once money has been exchanged I must provide the service paid for in full, or provide a full refund if for some reason I cannot complete the paid for service.

5) If you wish to purchase this service, please post your IGN, a screenshot of your current %, the times that you normally play, and which maps you would like checked.

Two specific things to note about the Service Section rules which can get you banned if not followed, and are easy to not realize if you do not use this forum regularly:

A) Non-bids - Posting utter crap like "this is over priced" or "my guild does it cheaper" will result in a ban.

B) Questions - If you have a question regarding a service PM the OP, do not post in the thread this will count as a non-bid. (OP's should edit their post to include any questions asked for futher reference)

7) My Guarantee:

If you put the work in, I can guarantee you will get the 100% title.

If you purchase my service, I will not only check your maps for you, but I will keep checking them for you. If you think you have cleared everything that I have spotted for you, you may send me your updated screenshots and I will check them again to make sure that you have uncovered what I showed you before, and see if I might be able to find any spots that I may have missed the first time.

Note: You should have made significant increases in your percentage cleared before you ask for another full check. And you should only ask if you truly believe that you have uncovered everything that was pointed out.

If you are not sure if you have uncovered a spot or not, take note of it and continue to the next spot. Once you have checked everything then go back, tell me the spots you are unsure of and send your updated screenshots. This way I can check them all at once.

Any area that I point you to will be a standard area that any character can access at any time, if they have free range of the map (Have unlocked all areas). I will not point you towards any areas that can't be reasonably uncovered by a normal player. This means I will not force you to uncover areas that require specific builds, affiliations, or the use of exploits.

You alone (or you and your team) will be responsible for uncovering the areas that I find for you.

BONUS!!!

Bonus 1: Not only will I help you by finding all the areas that you have missed on your map I will also help you by answering any cartography related questions that you may have during your mapping quest. This does not mean that I will be your personal cartography slave. If I am otherwise engaged, you will have to wait until I am free for me to answer your questions. I will do my best though to make myself available for this and I will usually take time when I first log on to contact you in game to check on your status and answer any questions you have. Show me respect in this and I will give it in kind.

The best way to get your questions answered though, would be to send them to me here in a private message or e-mail. I check my inbox nearly every day and I will usually get back to you within 24 hours.

Bonus 2: Many people have trouble accessing the banishment area in the Imperial Sanctum of Cantha. If you are having trouble with this, I will personally come into the game and help you get into this area.

You may need to put in some money to buy specific gear for your character in order to do this, but it won't cost more than 1k and usually only around 5-600g to buy everything you need, if you don't already have them. You are also free to sell these things once you have cleared the area.

Thus as I said, if you are willing to put in the work on your part, I will do everything in my power to make sure you get your title. You can set your watch and warrant on it.

NOTE: I do not check any maps until I have received payment, nor are you considered to be in queue until I have received payment. Thus you need to make sure that you supply me with the info on what times you are normally on and what time zone you reside in.

When I came to you, I had 98.6% explored and felt like I had weeks and weeks of mapping ahead of me with no sure sign of completing the GMC title. I happened upon your service on this forum, but was hesitant to pay money for getting help. I decided one desperate evening to talk to you in game, and after talking to you, I was convinced the service was worth it. You were pollite, answered all my questions, and were very patient.

In a one day turn-around, I received maps which detailed the areas I needed to complete my remaining 1.4%. In addition, I had questions about how to access certain areas and got quick, straightforward answers that worked.

In less than 5 hours, I had my GMC title. Livingston had pointed out some very obsure areas that I had missed and he even offered to help me get banished to complete my title. Now that is what i call service.

A quick side note for all you mappers. I am a Tyrian born character, and I never used the Eredon Terrace exploit or the Raisu Palace exploit. Nor did I map Monastary Overlook; I didn't even get banaished to all areas Imperial Sanctum. I did however, map Fort Aspenwood and Jade Quarry (kurzick side only).

For all those who are grinding for this title and don't feel like spending the untold hours getting it, I would highly recommend this service. It was well worth the 30k that I invested and the speed at which I got my remaining points was a total surprise.

Since my service has now been active for nearly a month, I have had time to sort out what I can and can't do and how difficult it will be to do things that I didn't do before.

As such, I have new prices set for all three continents of Guild Wars now. So if you needed a check for a map I didn't do before you can get it now.

Cantha is by far the hardest maps to check which is why I have priced it above Tyria. It would be priced above Elona as well, but I have only checked a few Elona maps, so for me it is rather difficult compared to the others. I can still find everything; it just takes a lot more work to do so. In time I may drop the price of this to the same as Tyria as I grow more accustomed to doing them.

If you truly compared the difficulty of checking Canthan maps to the others it should be a lot more expensive than the other two, but luckily Cantha is my forte, I have checked hundreds of Canthan maps and as such my eyes have grown a bit accustomed to checking Canthan maps. Even so, it is still hard work and I have to concentrate very hard to pick up all the tiny spots that people miss, some so indistinct that if I do not circle them right away I may have trouble seeing them, even when I know exactly where to look. These are the cases when you may see a circle on your map with a question mark on it. Meaning that I'm pretty sure something is there, but for the life of me I can't find exactly where it was, even though I already saw it once.

I still get the most compliments when wearing my "Canthan Grandmaster Cartographer" title, even over "Kind of a Big Deal." I believe this is because a cartography title not only says, "I beat the crap out of this continent," but also, "I've travelled every last square millimeter of this world. There is nothing here that I have not seen and I am master of this domain."

So come one, come all, and achieve the greatest titles on Earth!!!
